  • On NSD 4/16 now, the whole weekend was no spend.
I am doubly grateful for my saturday morning parkrun, because afterwards my ankle rally swelled up and is still painful to walk on. And then yestrday i fell quite hard on the backdoor step, banging up my knee and hitting my head. So now I have one swollen painful nakle, one swollen painful knee and a good few bumps and bruises on my arms, hands and head.

I am grateful for a little packet of seeds that hold such hope for growing fresh veg and flowers.

I have added a few things to the donate/recycle pile. And hope to use some recycling to repurpose as flower pots/growers with the Brownies tonight.

    Hi everyone
Still here! The last few days have been small spends or no spends so happy about that. Today the weather is dire here so holed up in the front room with hot drink and throw, thank goodness I have enough food and stuff in. The slow cooker is on for dinner tonight - bean stew, I rinsed half a tin of baked beans that have been languishing in the fridge for a few days and used those, not sure what they will taste like but also added the butter beans that I cooked yesterday.
I bought some clothes in the sales a couple of days ago, silly prices that were on parr with CS and they all fit fine, so pleased with them. I have been losing weight this last 6 months and my spring/summer stuff is all too big (oh it feels so good to be able to type that!!)
    Anyway grateful for
    1. SIL curry
    2. Having food stores
    3. House, warmth, friends and family

Apologies a really quick check in from me.

Friday - date didn't happen, he bailed on me this time. Tried to rearrange but probably be next week now, with work commitments.

Saturday - Grandkids day - took them to free art/ play session along with drinks/ food NSD in the bag.

Sunday - boring but de-cleaned house. Been stressing me out since xmas, went to help homeless charity in afternoon, no money spent again.

Today - needed bread, milk, plus I bumped into a couple of people from charity yesterday, I ended up giving them some pennies towards hot drinks, not sure if that was a wise thing to do? Will they expect it all the time? These aren't homeless but know without heating at home. The charity gives out flasks to homeless and local cafe's sign up to refill them for free. Anyhow I didn't give a donation yesterday so that's my donation done.

    Grateful for
Nice warm home to go home to. Can't wait for pj night.

Meeting some lovely people yesterday, coming home with bramley apples and apple cake leftovers.

Daughter arrived safely back in NZ today.

I've been out adventuring (I have low adventure threshold). Eyes and nose no longer streaming but still weak and wobbly. I have been eating too much comfort food so put smoked mackerel in the oven and green beans in the microwave. Pulled out a pack of wholemeal buns to make up some soft sandwiches - drawers hedn't been put back right so rest of January and February will be using up everything in there and then cooking to restock cheaply.

Whilst food was cooking I took the paper sack to the bins plus a few more recyclables, walked to the library to return a book and put 2 packs of choc chip cookies in the food bank bin and then to the optician to donate yet another pair of old spectacles.

Had to sit down when I reached the library (nearly sat down at the bottomof the slope but the wall was clod and wet), rest again before I left the library and on my way home I've been into the tattoo parlour (saw a gorgeous young man with his top off) to ask if I could sit down again.

Eaten my food and am resting. Not going to mum's as still full of lurgy bugs (told her about her food delivery but there's very little that can't wait until I'm there AND reminded her to fill in the hearing survey before tomorrow's appointment).

Will be going back downstairs shortly as I'm nearly out of water. Have a few next steps in mind including a sitting down one but will fill the water bottle straight away and come back to rest as soon as i need to.

Today I am grateful for DS1 and his wife getting a new puppy (11 months old, rescued from the streets of Rumania), for photos fo new puppy, for being less ill than yesterday (had a sleep in the afternoon, sometimes my body knows what to do). Also got my six year MSE badge.
My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.

MediumDino that sounds painful! You’ve been in the wars!
Apple, can I claim today as an NSD? If so ,its 6/16
I picked up a few bits from Mr A’s and paid with a gift card I was trying to use up (it now has 45p remaining so I still have to carry it around with me :( )

Apart from gift card spend and regular bill payments already budgeted for, no other spends.
Am working on using up the sad/tired/out of date ends of things. I’ve made chocolate cookies from old muscovado sugar, and a curry from old & rescued veg:A

Have been tracking all spends and income using the Fudget app which I am thrilled with. It makes charts for you! So far this month I’ve spent £56 (39%on clothes and 42% on food!)
But also so far I have earned £83 so I’m currently cost-neutral for food, clothes and treats this month!
The £200 holiday is a bit of an outlier, I had £35 saved for it, I knew it was coming and I accidentally overpaid a credit card by £300 so swings and roundabouts really, I would have saved up but instead I shall repay!

    Good evening all!!!

Calling! You are alive... I was going to send out a search and rescue in case your date was planning to bury you under their patio! I was meant to have a date also yesterday and they bailed... On the plus side - I had cleaned my entire apartment in case they came back for 'coffee' ;) I need to have a firm talking to myself - I should clean for the joy of it (!) not just when I might pull haha!!! Ahem... On the downside.. I went on a(nother!) shop to get some nice things in in case of said coffee. When he was a no show, I ate an entire bag of Kettle Crisps, half a bag of family sized M&Ms and no gym!!! Talk about de-railed! I then did give myself a stern talking to and went for a nice long walk to burn off about 3 of the M&Ms lol :rotfl:

    Yesterday I was grateful for:

    1) My date's no-show and a BEAUTIFUL CLEAN flat
    2) Comfort food and a sense of humour
    3) For recognising my downward spiral... it could have been worse - it could have been an ENTIRE family sized bag of M&Ms!!! :T

    Today I am grateful for:

    1) My mindfulness journey! On day 30 today!!! I think that means it's a new habit!!! Yay me!
    2) Having facilities at work to exercise (basic ones) for nights like this when it is cold and raining...
    3) Meeting some lovely people at work today

    Today = NSD :starmod: 9

Have an evening in planned with Notflix <eyes up cupboard with remaining half bag of M&Ms in...:A> and an early night! Have a good evening folks x

No NSD here, I'm really not wracking them up as I would like! However they were planned spends. I paid for my massage at the physio, does feel better and am going to try acupuncture on my back to see if that helps it. It doesn't sound frugal but when I have a flare up with my back I don't mind paying to try things to help it, I believe in investing in your health! Already put the claim in to my cash plan to get 50% reimbursed. Also bought some painkillers and vitamins which were running low.

Today I'm grateful for a nice massage, although the guy really liked to chat! Also grateful for getting ahead of myself at work so the rest of the week isn't so daunting, and for homemade panettone bread and butter pudding currently in the oven.

I also second the aloe vera tissues, nothing worse than a red raw nose on top of a cold! mediumdino take care with your ankle, keep an eye on the swelling, sprains and things can seem innocuous but can be nasty!

Today I am grateful for dd having an awesome bday, for phone calls from her big sis and my big sis, for a good day at work myself, for a parking space near the hosp for my bloods, for easy driving, for plenty of walking, for not getting too soggy, for discovering tonight about the history hwk due tomorrow and not in the morning...
