Question everything: - Your habits :- Sax Practice. - Will practice as soon as I post this, and until dinner is cooked.
Ugly, unloved or unused - Minimalist Challenge. Day 3 - Old dog jumper with broken button, old bent & rusty clothes horse, packet of 2 phone protector screens (I bought wrong size last year & have been trying to sell them since).
Exercise your mind and body. Nothing today, got really bad doms from 10 mins of stair climbing on wed. Surprisingly tougher than it seems.
Savings. Forgot I had set up a weekly DD into my ISA to start in the NY. £25.00 paid in.
Thankfulness. 1) Thankful for 5 friday month.(spare money!). 2) Thankful my week off has started. 3) Thankful for the chance for a nice long gaming session tonight.

16 NSDS minimum. 1/31 NSD. Bought some presents today, and a bottle of wine. The presents are for birthdays for the next 3 month, I was a bit rubbish with gifting last year, so want to be proactive and plan ahead. (Bottle of wine is for me :D)

Give. Money, time, food. A colleague is doing dry-january, so I will donate to her cause at the end of the month.

My plans to do 5 nsds in a row is being scuppered by DS3 &4 who need new school shoes but want to go into town tomorrow, rather than on Monday when I wanted to go. Managed NSD3 though. So we are going tomorrow and then to the supermarket for acceptable lunchbox tat. They want to spend their Xmas loot.

So, I cleaned and tidied my house today, 3/4 done, all hoovered, de-christmassed and very, very orderly.

Baked a cinnamon apple streusel cake, and a gingerbread cake. Now I just have to keep away from it all.
Did a spot of 'outreach' to a local lady I know is having a hard time of it all. She can take it or leave it, the offer is there, nevertheless.

Gratitudes: Only Connect, I have candles to light, Werewolves. It is FRIDAY!!! even though that makes no difference to my life, it is still Friday night and I am ready to party! (If by party you mean shout quiz answers at the telly and read my book. There may also be a surprise guest appearance by Amaretto Hot Chocolate).

  • Evening everyone
Today has been a spend day as I went out with my friend, she treated me to brunch at her house first then drove 10 miles where we went for a walk - so I treated us to coffee & cake. As i'd already spent I also bought some ingredients for hm soup.
    Gratitudes:
    Lovely brunch cooked by friend
Found a new local place for nice walks
Last episode of Bancroft to watch while cosy on the sofa with the cats and a few chocolates :)

lcc86, so sorry to hear about your dog :(
Still on NSD 1 here, OH and I went out for lunch with an old friend today. Back to MSE ways tomorrow!
  • Evening
I've spent the last couple of days just pottering about the house, relaxing, getting ready to return to work. For once I can say that I feel quite relaxed after a holiday - I'm never 100% ready to go back to work but I'm ok with it this time.
I haven't left the house other than taxi-ing the kids from place to place - so my pennies have remained in my purse and I've had a couple of nsd's. Don't want to speak too soon but weightloss going reasonably well - just need to maintain it.
All of my crochet projects are ready to go and I've spent a lot of time working on getting things organised, which is a miracle for me...
So today I am grateful for - not spending money, having the day off work and losing some weight.

Lcc - sounds like your dog had a good life, going for walks right up to the end.

Abundant - you can't put a price on peace of mind. I'd say get another car, but don't spend more on it per month than you are at the moment.

Today I am grateful for time with my big sis + niece, for a successful sainz shop (had a 6.50 off 30 shop, so would have been rude not to use it...), for dd getting lots of library books out, for getting leave to have some time off for a further pre-op blood test from my head, for a friend of dh's popping round, for knocking a tray of bits onto the floor as it then forced me to tidy it up and put things away, for iron-on name tags, for discovering schar gf 'pringles' and dd loves them!

  • Hv just carried out an audit of the inside freezer( outside tomorrow) and we are better off food wise than l thought so operation eat from the freezer this January has commenced. The freezer has been a bit of a mystery to me during December all l have seem to have done is push leftovers in where they could fit. Well some interesting meals are afoot now.

    Hello fellow questers

Belated new year wishes to you all, I have not been online as I have been enjoying being off work for Christmas, for the last many years I have worked in retail so have only had 1 day off for Christmas, ill health and a subsequent job change has meant a wonderful 12 days off this year with my Family.

    Question everything
    - I have twice had items in my grubby mitts that I "thought I needed" but after a quick little question I've put them back as I really had no need for them and was buyig them for the sake of it.
Ugly, unloved or unused - I have turned 2 unused items back in to functional ones this week by digging out my needle and thread. I have sat looking at these items for months but not had the motivation to do anything about them until this week. Now both fully functional again and being used,
Exercise your mind and body - I have read 3 frugal books this week, some better than others but all reinforce my back to MSE mindset.
Savings - I'm on NSD number 3 of the year. All of our meals so far this yer have been from the cupboards and I've done the menu plan for the week to also be from the home store rather than shops.
Thankfulness - 1. Being able to enjoy special time with my Family, 2. Some lovely hot chocolate sticks that I received as a present, 3. Having 1 last evening with the lovely Christmas tree lights before it's all packed away.
Debt at LBM [strike]£17,544[/strike] £5700
    :TOver £14,000 PAID OFF :T

2020 the year of less - Less debt, less waste, less spending, less stuff, less stress!
