Vodafone broadband - good, bad?

I was with them for 18 months on superfast 1 36 Mbps and had no problems at all, steady 34-36 Mbps all day long including weekends only left because they wouldn't give another 18 months at same price. To be honest it depends how far away from the nearest BT box,if your close to one ie few hundred yards most broadband providers will be ok as they all use the same BT line.I'm with Now Broadband super fibre and get 70 Mbps including anytime calls all for £30 a month 12 month contract and it came with £95 cashback.0

Thanks for that - the Now deal seems good but I won't put any money into Sky for many reasons, the main one being their exploitation of a customer base (I mean, forcing people to take an entertainment package just so they can get the sports/movie package).0 -

A relative tried to move to Now and after a long wait for installation didn't ever provide it.
Their customer service was worse than useless, ignored emails, hung up on calls, so I wouldn't touch them even if it was free.Things that are differerent: draw & drawer, brought & bought, loose & lose, dose & does, payed & paid0 -
If Vodafone are using the same Openreach kit as Plusnet , then providing you are buying the equivalent package, then ( give or take ) the speed at which you sync will be the same, throughput could vary, customer service and billing may be different but differences between Plusnet and Vodafone would only be comparable if you had issues with both.
Unless you have asked PN what they can offer as a retention deal, then one company’s offer to entice new customers is bound to look good in comparison to another company’s ‘out of contract’ price....if it’s just the price going up with PN that is the issue , it can’t hurt to ask what they can do on price ( in return for accepting a new minimum term)0 -
I’m with them.
I would do the switch.0 -
I am with Vodafone home broadband (fibre). We had a technical fault when we first got it which was surprisingly painless to resolve through the call centre and since then the Internet has been both fast and stable. I am leaving, however, because they sprung a mid-contract price rise on me, so bear in mind that they are one of the providers that reserve the right to do that. For me, not a great issue, as it gives me the chance to avail of someone else's sign on bonus nearly a year early, penalty free!#145 Save £12k in 2016 Challenge: £12,062.62/£12,000.00 Beginning Balance: £5,027.78 CHALLENGE MET

I was with them until the sprung the price hike. I now wish I still was!
The are ok the service provided worked, but CS were a bit useless. When I first switched to them (from PN) my called id wasn't working. Took THREE calls to CS to get it working, all of them saying "it is now working". I complained and got a credit on my account.
The supplied router is a bit naff. I couldn't get my printer to connect to it AT ALL. Spent HOURS on chat with CS to try and get it working, I said it works fine with my old router but their one it wouldn't pair with,
I switched to Shell (via a link from MSE!) and it was the worst move I have made in many years. CS is 1000% worse than Vodaphone and PN. Luckily it is only a 12 month contract so I am out next Nov.Registered Linux user #497422 :beer:0 -
