What nonsense, if you don't want Sky then go for NowTV where you can get Sports and/or Movies on their own.
.
That's exactly what Sky do. If person X wants to watch sport in HD or UHD they have to pay for the basic package with Sky first. Also Now are owned by Sky. You may think my opinion is nonsense, but it is my opinion and I'll stick to it. Best thing I ever did was to finally realise that having Sky TV was not an essential, no matter what Sky keep telling us. :rotfl:0 -

They also continue to charge people after they have left. Has happened to me twice. TalkTalk are currently the cheapest option, but no ta.0 -
If Vodafone are using the same Openreach kit as Plusnet , then providing you are buying the equivalent package, then ( give or take ) the speed at which you sync will be the same, throughput could vary, customer service and billing may be different but differences between Plusnet and Vodafone would only be comparable if you had issues with both.
Unless you have asked PN what they can offer as a retention deal, then one company’s offer to entice new customers is bound to look good in comparison to another company’s ‘out of contract’ price....if it’s just the price going up with PN that is the issue , it can’t hurt to ask what they can do on price ( in return for accepting a new minimum term)
For the record, PN offered nothing to retain me. Currently pay £27.99, on the phone they were offering £31.99 and on line £29.99.
PN were good, but as others say they will use the same infrastructure as Vodafone. Vodafone is £23 over 18 months.0 -
I'm just entering month 13 with Vodafone now, on Superfast 2 for £24 per month.
The first month was not great as many websites would not work, however a quick look on their forum fixed this, as many users had the same issue which could be fixed by changing the Vodafone DNS settings to Google DNS.
After that and up until November everything was great, D/L speed was often 65mbps+, Upload was always 19mbps, always connected no issues at all and I was even recommending others to join them.
Since the end of November I've had nothing but issues, DSL keeps dropping out, my line speed coming into my house is often worst than what I would get on standard broadband. Upload speed is often in the region of 1.3-2.5mbps it should be around 19mbps
When it is showing a connection my Xbox can't connect to Live, Alexa don't work, Web pages take an age loading.
Vodafone have have given me a discount on my package for the rest of my contract as they are saying they can't fix the speed issue. This is an automatic process which takes place when you open their app. I now pay £16.80 per month.
Their customer services is not great, you message them on their forum to be told contact us on Twitter, you message them on twitter and go around in circles with them.
They ask you to confirm your Security details, then you don't hear off them for 2-3 days, they then reply apologising for the delay in getting back to you but as it's been over 24hrs since you confirmed the Security questions they ask you for them again (despite them being visible in the previous message but they wont accept this), you give them again and guess what? they don't reply for 2-3 days and when they do it's to only ask you for your security details again and they apologies for the delay. I've been through this process numerous times in the last 4-5 weeks and have given up. One of them did start helping me and asked for photo's of my hub and the box it was connected too, I sent them and didn't hear off of him again
It was great whilst it worked but when it doesn't you're on your own, a quick search of 'Vodafone Broadband' on twitter will show you I am one of many with the same issues.
I'm looking to pay my contact off and move to another provider.0 -
Not impressed with the vodafone customer service, takes on average 45-60mins to speak to someone if you have a BB fault
I highly suspect they throttle speeds during peaktimes, been finding on superfast 2, Down is 5-6MBps and UP is 18MBps on speedtest
I got told by Customer service is was a faulty modem after 'testing' the line.
I dug out the old superfast 1 modem and it produced the same results, so clearly not a modem issue. Together with the disproportionate Down and UP ratio is suspicious for this
This morning speeds went back up to 65+Mbps noted but off peak time"It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"

I’ve just renewed two broadband & unlimited calls packages with Voda. No issues with performance - circa 60-70M down, 16-20M up.
Customer service very good at outset and when considering renewals. Great price and they threw in upgraded routers foc too. I’m happy!0 -

Install Vodafone app on your phone.
If it agrees it’s slow, you will get a few quid back per month.0 -
the thing i find with vodafone FFTC is that the line sync capacity is fine but actual data throughput is wobby. This is especially so on web browsing. You request a website and it is slow to initiate loading /slow to load.. of course it could be the source server thats overloaded/slow but generally, i dont feel i am getting what i thought i was paying for. Theres a world of difference between capacity and throughput.Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0
