Slow here but keeping at it in a small way for now. Binned a used up facial cleanser bottle, also an empty box from cotton buds. Really scraping the barrel here! Also freecycled some Xmas decs some unused multi vits and a few sparkly nail polishes I won't use again before they dry up. So another 5. This weekend is going to be busy with work and catching up after I've been out of action; I have promised myself I'll do half an hour a day of ferreting things out to get rid of. On the "not bringing things in" front I'm proud that I found a lovely doormat in a shop today but resisted it as my current one is fine really so that's £7.99 I've kept!Magnolia Stellata1

Due to mouse damage, carpet in the bedroom has been damaged, OH has lifted carpet and the underlay is falling to bit's, so that's lifted and in the bin, the hole the mouse got in has been blocked in, so more money to be decluttered for underlay, good job we can do the work ourselves.
Christmas Ferrero chocolate decluttered to someone else as we don't like the taste.
Apart from that decluttering has come to a halt at the moment.£71.93/ £180.001 -
Well done, Stellata on not bring in stuff- if only I could resist stuff. I am going to adopt your strategy of putting the cash saved in a jar for my holidays in UK- dinners, coffee, cakes etc.
I saw two French labelled storage jars in a charity shop and coveted them but resisted as I thought what would I actually do with them as they are really no good for food and I have quite a collection of them already... So, that is 4 euros into the jar.
Also as a postscript to the tyre decluttering episode , I now want DH to declutter the enormous amount of plastic that was round the tyre " to keep it clean"... a true LOL moment.1 -

Hello all
Have been a bit MIA this week but RL got in the way. Saying that I have filled another bag for the cs, finished some xmas candles and DH has taken the glass jars to his workshop. He's taken so much up there lately it must be bursting........ oh well not my problem now. Also 2 bags went to the cs at the end of last week :j. I won't know what to do with myself when everything has eventually gone ! Probably try to get into DH's workshop  ( I think I will have to have a password to get in there :rotfl:) or start on my Dad's house, but remembering the tussle I had to get rid of my late DM's stuff, I won't hold my breath.
Happy decluttering everyone
nan
PS MrsSD I have just realised that you're on holiday :doh:Hope you enjoy your time away.Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently1 -
Day 17
Long day out the house yesterday with work and then football for DS2 and then dog walk. So only managed to throw away a pair of bright pink knitted socks (I have no idea where, when or how they arrived...I'm just hoping Mrs SJ won't miss them).
Day 18
Intention was to tackle my wardrobe today but I ended up doing some garden tidy. Due to matters out of my control it was as if we walked in from the garden sometime in September and haven't made it back to put stuff away for the winter. So whilst it was dry I attacked it.
- 1 carrier bag of rubbish (broken pegs, broken toys, 1 odd kids sandal and some weeds)
- 1 bin bag of stuff for the tip
- 1 broken mop
- 2 broken brushes
- 1 broken mop bucket
Tomorrow will be my wardrobe...MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......1 -
Tried to send the following last night - but someone kicked out the plug - YET AGAIN :rotfl:
Friday - Went down to the beach for a couple of hours. Was overcast or wet all day with a distinct lack of sunshine but still warm of course :T I spent 40 minutes in the water, DSis 30 minutes & DH 1.25 hours . Showered, changed & down to dinner by 8 p.m. Very tasty 😋
Retired to the wi-fi area for a full evening’s entertainment - Michael Jackson night :T Four lucky/unlucky souls dragged out of the audience to dance like Michael Jackson. Only one really tried & was excellent - so Marcelo won :T by popular vote :j
Then the act came on Michael Jackson lookalike + 7 backing dancers (incl. 2 girls) He is very, very good :j excellent in fact as are the backing dancers. Took loads of photos on my iPad - most OK. Benefit of no wi-fi - I watched the show properly :rotfl:
Welcome aboard gloriouslyhappy :hello: Lovely to see you :j Think, once you have decluttered you can change your name to ecstaticallyhappy :rotfl: Definitely start small & build :T
Great work greent :T 200 already - I really do have my work cut out when I get home
Nicnak, I seem to be quite lucky on the odd socks front - only 2 in the last yearDoes your wm eat them or perhaps you have ‘Borrowers’ in your home :rotfl: Great work on the large item decluttering :T

Great work TC77 :T only 4 short of your first 100 :T
Slow & steady wins the race stellata :T + very MSE :money::j
Now, now boultdjYou are still decluttering - not just the items you wanted to declutter
Once you have sorted out the underlay & carpet, you will feel better & will attack the decluttering with renewed energy
Good work retiredinfrance :T I remember you do love a good storage jar :rotfl: Fingers crossed 🤞 that your DH will release the plastic packaging safely out of your home
Good work jacwins :T Waiting with bated breath to see James finished’ :rotfl:
Nannywindow, RL does have a habit of setting obstacles to getting the clutter outbut you seem to have the knack now :T Tremendous work :T Once you have reached your decluttering target & have a clear, neat & tidy home - your mission is to stop the ‘clutter creep’ :rotfl: You turn your back for 5 minutes & the clutter tries to get back in :rotfl:
Great work shangaijimmy :T All decluttering is a winand in January any dry day must be used for garden decluttering :rotfl: Wardrobes can be left for cold wet days - there are plenty of those in January :rotfl:
Caught up again : Although I haven’t read any of the other threads I usually post on
