Tuesday started dark & overcast & blowy but brightened up enough to tempt us out into the garden to resume harvesting olives & pruning the olive tree. We requested permission to go into next door’s garden to be able to prune but first had to clear the brambles + we did a bit of weeding. It is a rented house & the agent is VERY REMISS 😡 in getting a gardener in 😖 It is like a mini jungle ☹️ Anyway, I went up the ladder & chopped down loads of olive laden branches which we threw over the fence. Got absolutely soaked as halfway through the heavens opened. However as my DH pointed out we are not made of sugar 😆 So we persevered - all in all we were out for about 60 minutes. Went in, had fried egg sandwiches for lunch. Rain stopped so we went back out - DH did the shredding (3 large garden bags of shredding which we will use to line the new raised bed when it is made) & I harvested the olives (DSis helped for about 20 minutes) - another 90 minutes spent in the garden. I harvested 4.1kg of olives which need to be sorted. Saturday’s harvest of 2.075kg has been whittled down to 1.024kg fit to be brined. DSis vacuumed the downstairs & used dustpan & brush on the stair carpet 👏👏If the weather is reasonable later today we will complete the last of the pruning which involves taking the height out. We will then be able to plant out the bulbs. I will sort the 4.1kg of olives. Then Thursday I will begin the long laborious task of putting a cut around the olives & storing in brined water - more olives might be composted 😉. I need to hunt out my 1litre Kilner jars 😉 The olives take at least 4 months 😱 to become edible.DH went out to get K*nt*cky Chucky for our dinner.1822 - 1824 Newspaper, kitchen recycling, drinks cans - Recycled1825 - 1827 Kitchen detritus, living room detritus, garden detritus - Binned

They were knickers with a bat utility belt and bat logo on the front, gold and black printing on grey so 60's Batman! And they made me smile but were past their best.

Love the sound of those knickers Short bird!
A sheet put in the bin today. It had paint on it so I must have used it at some point as a dust sheet. That has found its way into the bin. I am off to have a look in one of the drawers now too. xSeptember 2017 Debt = £25330

I rearranged my kitchen cupboards this morning but I didn't find anything to get rid of. I was thinking about donating a large heart shaped bowl I never use but I thought I could use it to keep my herbal tea bags in as I have stocked up with Yogi tea.
I do have another donation bag of clothes made up for the chazzer.9 -
Nicnak said:I've just got rid of 8K. Might sound dramatic but it's the rest of a financial separation order to buy my house outright from my ex. I think it's worth mentioning though as technically it is decluttering something. x
hey ho, all mine now and he has a lovely swimming pool at my expense!

I have been decluttering for some time but as we all know certain things keeps going back in the cupboards. I am having carpets fitted on Friday and I thought how embarrassing that is when they open that cupboard door and think I hoard (although I cannot tell you how much I have got rid of this year alone)
SO I have been getting rid of stuff all week and today my son said oh that would do for a car vac - so I gave him my old dyson cordless which basically sits there not doing much as I have a Shark. Plus all the attachments out of a box where I also found a Shark hard floor duster thingy so off that's gone too. AND a blowtorch that as been sitting in the cupboard in its wrapper for over a year. And Ive arranged for the British Heart Foundation charity to pick up a sofa from my conservatory as its been replaced with 2 chairs.
It is so refreshing when you actually accomplish getting rid of 'stuff'

We didn’t manage to finish the olive tree pruning on Tuesday as the weather turned ☹️Wednesday was a lovely, sunny & warm day 🙂 but with a strong breeze ☹️ (DH has been scarifying the front lawn daily).
We spent a couple more hours in the garden - DH was up the ladder 😉 pruning the top out - from inside the olive tree. He did a fairly good job getting the larger branches down but there are still a few tall spindly branches - another 700g of olives harvested. Also moved the leeks from the raised bed to the table top bed.We harvested 6.875kg of olives but this has been whittled down to 2.093kg which are fit to be brined. It took hours to inspect each & every olive 😱 but it is done 🥳 & I evenmanaged to locate one unused Kilner jar. DH started to work on the sleepers - he needed to cut 3 of them in half for the new raised bed. Halfway through sawing the 1st sleeper he realised he needed a new handsaw. Isn’t technology great - he did a Click & Collect order with Scr*wf*x, set off on the motorbike & was back home all within 45 minutes 👏 & as an added bonus the handsaw was less than £6 🥳. The new handsaw was so sharp that he was back indoors within 10 minutes having sawn all 3 sleepers in half 🙂
Dinner was baked pork chop, creamy mashed potatoes, the last of the red hg tomatoes roasted with the aubergine (from the veg box & sweetheart cabbage 🤤
I knitted another pair of hand warmers.1828 - 1830 Large bag of office recycling, kitchen recycling, drinks cans - Recycled1831 - 1832 Kitchen detritus, garage detritus - Binned
