2020 - banish the clutter

@stellata that is how I feel re the winter clothes - I don't want to stay the weight I am so I am determined that I will not be bringing more stuff into the house, but will be losing weight so I can fit in the clothes I already have! I did have to get some new boots, but that is because my old ones were absolutely destroyed by the end of last winter so I am not counting that 😅
I have now put a large painting up so that is no longer cluttering up the floor which is nice. Mostly general tidying up and rubbish decluttering here, but next weekend I think I must go through my craft stuff and sort out into crafts I actually use, and declutter the rest. I did start by sorting through some paper odd and ends, but I will have to do a thorough declutter - so that is my plan for the next section!10 -

I've been very productive as the weather has kept me in from my long walks. I was also conscious of the fact that next week is likely to be a bit of a productivity write-off as I'm going to be doing some work with some people in Asia on Zoom - so I need to get up at 3am for 4 days in a row!The good news is that I will mostly be observing / learning with a view to helping deliver the programme next time around - but I'm still daunted at the extremely early start - I've completely cleared my diary other than that so I'm not putting any pressure to do anything other than recover in my down time. Hopefully I will have recovered by Friday as I'm hoping to have a lovely day with DS before he heads off to Uni next Saturday.

Looks like people have been busy despite the weather which I think can make one feel v lethargicSavvy - 4 strimmers is good going! Why do we get stuck with ex's clutter - surely they can find the CS/recycle or bin! Also know that not fitting into clothes feeling- amazing how long you manage with the few things that fit...makes you realise how little you really need although nice to wear more.I'm finally getting the bathroom done - dread getting people in to to do work although know most are good - beg Nov.Yippee DD2's old bike sold and picked up today 1863 - another being picked up tomorrow , so then only 1 bike (DD2 new large adult bike) in the house.Used up frozen pastry and fruit in the freezer and veggies to make raspberry and blueberry shortcrust tart and sweet potato/spinach and leek filo pie 1864 - 1865 both DDs say they only remember being fed fish fingers/veggie sausages/pasta when younger ( abit unfair but over half true)Unsubscribed and left DD2 old sports club _ get a message about every match - men and women's so that's good ( 1866 - 1868)1869 got wireless key board set up as keep tripping over wire.1870 delivered CS bag1871 returned item to shop1872 admin tasks doneFound another padlock which none of the dozen keys I have fit - keeping and will keep to end of the year - having got rid of bike locks and now thiink I have the keys! also the parts of 4 fountain pens - 2 more I've now matched! at some point you have to let the parts go knowing they'll never be complete..Hope everyone is now dry and warm and has a good start to their work. Good luck with the 3am starts Energy Shifter!11

Whoah, this thread is running at a superfast rate. FAB U LOUS
I have had a busy weekend. DD home from uni for the weekend (may be the last for a while, depends on what is happening in Stoke).
Yesterday I cleared out a cupboard in the living room which has created one bag for the CS.
Today DH and I cleaned and cleared the bedroom. We pulled out boxes from under the bed and only two have gone back. They gather dust as much as anything but also some of my summer clothes were under there that I hadn't been able to find, lol.
We cleared the travel bags off the top of the wardrobe, choked on layers of dust, discarded one, relocated some cases to the loft and the bags we use most to the cupboard at the top of the stairs. One thing leads to another and that cupboard also got a clear out closely followed by the landing being cleared too. Two bags of paper from all my studies gone in recycling, ornaments and other bits for the CS so another bag to go tomorrow.
Just returned from decluttering DD who loved being at home and cleaned the kitchen and floors without being asked.
Tomorrow I hit the wardrobes so I can clear out my other summer clothes and restock with my autumn/winter collection.
Thanks for the star for DH, he is very appreciative.

Some ebay shoes arrived so the annoying ones they replace have gone in the charity bag that will hopefully exit our home on Friday. Have decided to streamline my shoes a little so replacing all annoying or uncomfortable shoes with wide fit shoes in a brand I know (past caring if they are different colours in identical style!) and can hopefully get rid of the excess pairs too. After all, I’ve worn only trainers and one pair of sandals since lockdown! Working from home definitely saves on shoe leather! Also eyeing up a few of my tops I am still wearing but that are getting a little big, so as soon as I sort out that I do really have enough clothes that fit, they will land in the next charity bag.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?8

Oooh, thankyou for DD's medal Mrs SD. She will be pleased.
I forgot to mention the trip I took to the refugee centre on Saturday morning. I left them with 6 chairs, a small tent and a bag of jumpers. I shall call this two bags for ease.
Today I took a three bags of clothes and bric a brac split between several charity shops near the bank as I was going there. I also sorted through all my clothes and the summer ones are stored in strong boxes, under the bed and labelled this time. Only a few things have gone in the CS bag but no matter, it won't be going until spring summer next year. They are into winter clothing now.
So by my estimation I am on 67/100 bags now.
