Todays offerings are 3 empty plastic moisture traps, brought back from our caravan and now in the recycling. Thanks MrsSD that's 2 gold stars for me now, I'm on a roll ! Good idea about the pans but they are more of the cake baking shallow type and please don't encourage me to accumulate stuff as this is supposed to be a decluttering threadI have a cast iron bakestone that belonged to my DM and my DGM before her. I have used it but not for a while and I refuse get rid for sentimental reasons even though it weighs a ton ...... so go on try to make meVala if you don't love it or have to make yourself use it then there's no reason to keep hold of it. Someone else may be glad of it HTHnanFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently9

I don’t have any cast iron, but I keep my frying pan inside my top oven so it’s the easiest to get out and use. Maybe putting it somewhere easy to get to would help you use it more or decide if you dislike it.
decluttered the curly kale from the veg box to sis who loves it! No waste.Still decluttering more email junk mail, it’s definitely reducing though!working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?10 -
I found a reorganisation of my cupboard meant I used my cast iron dishes more as they were easy to get at. I do like the way they cook and find they cook evenly.. I do need to Declutter some but waiting until both sons have moved out in case they want some stuff.
1156 some packaging.

Friday was a beautiful day but it does get dark earlier 😒 & the temperature plummets 😒
Never mind, I am enjoying our Indian Summer immensely 🙂 as it means gardening is fun & not a chore 😉 DH & I spent another couple of hours - moving bushes & plants including the rosemary plant. The gap in the front hedge is now filled, we have planted a few bulbs in the area under the front window (grass won’t grow for some reason 🙁). The ‘flower bed’ has been rearranged & the soil turned & extra compost & top soil added. We are letting it settle before planting bulbs - narcissi, daffodils & snowdrops. The dahlia is still in full bloom & the marigolds are finally starting to flower 🥳 At least four different yellow/orange colours. The garden is looking so much tidier & lots of tomatoes are turning red - at last 🎉
One lovely bit of news given to my DSis - the neighbour who had cancer treatment during lockdown has been given the all clear - the treatment worked 👏 To say he is relieved is an understatement.
Dinner was cheesy pasta cooked by my DH - one of his very best 😋🤤😋🤤

Vala-Mal-Doran, it sounds like you have made your decision 😉 I have both a large & a small cast iron frying pan - not used often but I love them so they will stay 😉
Good work nannywindow 👏 every bit helps 😉 You & I can man the barricades in defence of our cast iron pots/pans 😆 Re the rusty pans - will your Dad notice if a couple get binned 😉
What a good idea newlywed 👏 Keep up the good work on the electronic decluttering 👏
Good work villagelife 👏 Your sons will be very lucky if you donate cast iron ware to them - not only useful for cooking but also excellent weapons to defend yourself 🤣
Good work short_bird 👏 I think your signature “......... call off Christmas” is looking more & more likely 🙁☹️BE KIND. STAY SAFE. BREAK THE CHAIN. Also started watching "Home Edit" on Netflix. Has anyone else seen it? I was struck by just how much stuff people had. The organisers do an amazing job & it all looks very neat and beautiful but I just kept thinking - why do they need all of that stuff ??? (beautiful as some of it was). Made me realise how much being on this thread and other things like it have changed my mindset. It prompted me to have a little potter around and I've discarded the following items....
599. filing box
600 & 601 - 2 x scarves
602 - too small cloth face mask
603. dead earphones
604 & 5 - 2 x tops
(I've also started to put some kitchen & other stuff aside for DS to take to Uni - won't count it until it's left the house... )

The "...cancel Christmas!" signature came about due to the dear departed Alan Rickman. I do hope that things improve but some days it's awfully difficult to keep that flame of optimism burning steadily. Ah well.
824: more emails cleared down but that's it for today.‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.

Saturday was another warm/hot, sunny day - sooo happy 😊 . Was up & awake waiting to pay milkman (4 weeks due) & he never turned up 😖
Lazy day - a little deadheading, harvested 843g of tomatoes (250g donated to neighbour who had the good news 😊), harvested most of my chard, watered the garden. DH went to sm - loaf of bread, 2 packs of pasta & soft drinks.
I did a sort out of kitchen freezer.
Dinner was baked pork chops, baked hg tomatoes, mash, stir fried hg chard with bacon bits & boiled carrots from the *ddb*x (40% of our dinner was hg 😋) Washing up done, dried & put away.Making fish pie tomorrow - all fish from garage freezer.

1708 Kitchen detritus - Binned
Good work EnergyShifter 👏 I am always surprised by what spurs each of us on to declutter 😉 I don’t have N*tfl*x but the programme sounds interesting 🤔
Great work TC77 👏 even with RL & hassle putting up obstacles to your decluttering 👏 My only obstacle to decluttering is Mrs Lazy 😉 - I could do with Weekend Willie setting up shop for a couple of weeks 😉😉
You are so right short_bird 👏 The more news I watch, the less optimistic I am ☹️😢 However there are plenty of bright spots - sunny weather, good neighbours, plenty of wildlife, hg produce & a wonderful husband who I would not swap for anything 🙂😊 + all of my OS ‘friends’ Reading various threads keeps me sane 🙂BE KIND. That Netflix show sounds interesting.
I used to have Netflix but our account got hacked and we didn't bother to renew it. Maybe I will now.
I have added more clothes to the donation bag. I have two big bags to take tomorrow.2025 GOALS
