Went up Dad's yesterday and decluttered 3 of his trees, so very achy today. I managed to persuade him to let me bring home a black bag full of baby toys, including a Chicco sing along aeroplane, several V tech toys and a singing Barney, all still working. There were about 30 - 40 different items in the bag and everything in an excellent condition. DGS is 11 and DGD now almost 9 so I think they're unlikely to want to play with them again
The toys have been cleaned and put in a cs bag and I hope that some other child can get lots of joy from them. Unfortunately I failed in persuading him to throw away about half a dozen rusty cooking pans from inside his conservatory, but I did bring home an enamel pie dish for myself....... sorry let the side down with that !!

The fortnightly veg box arrived before midnight Wednesday - potatoes, beetroot, mushrooms, cucumber, cauliflower, carrots & the most gorgeous looking lettuce I have ever seen 🤤Thursday was another bright, sunny day but not quite so warm. I had a bath & washed my hair. DH then drove me to the hospital for my Lung Health check. Had height & weight 🙁 checked, answered a few health questions, then had 5 vials of blood taken. The computer then said ‘Yes’ to a scan 😆😉 Scan taken & then DH drove me to a new L*dl - lovely shop & picked up meat, soft drinks, bread & potatoes.Lunch at 5 p.m. was the last of the hm soup for DH & I with crusty baguette. DSis had ham & hg tomato baguette. Therefore dinner was baked beans on toast with hot dogs & a fried egg for DH & I.

I have added 5 more tops and a dress to the donation bag. I bought some new clothes for autumn so I thought I would be ruthless. I also threw away a box I was using to store my jewellery as I ordered a proper one from Amazon.8

Hi all,
Im an avid reader of this thread and love keeping up with all your inspiring decluttering efforts but I dont think I have ever posted!
However I need your advice - I have an item im stuck on - I have a shallow cast iron casserole dish which I was going to declutter as I've only used it twice in maybe 4 years 😅 However im hoping those of you with experience can let mw know if its worth keeping and making myself get used to using it more as I know these kind of dishes are long lasting and not got any dodgy coatings on it and in theory I should love it. I just always reach for the t£fal frying pan if i need something that size/depth.
Any advice or opinions would be very much appreciated - i know you guys have a wealth of experience behind you!

Back again😉 Wonderful surprise yesterday, my friend (an ex-colleague from over 20 years ago) phoned & we had a good old chinwag - an hour & 5 minutes 😱 It was really good to catch up. Ball is now in my court to arrange a late lunch over the next couple of weeks.Watched Russell Howard’s new series last night - hilarious 🤣
Friday is yet another warm, sunny day - long may it continue 🤞

Great work Nicnak 👏 the scrap man must love you 😉Great work EnergyShifter 👏 looking forward to hearing about your new adventure 😉
Excellent work silvasava 👏 Not sure I’d be giving away rhubarb 😉😉
No wonder you are aching nannywindow - 3 trees decluttered - great work 👏 Excellent work on persuading your Dad to release toys into the wild/cs - reminds me of Toy Story 4 - toys are meant to be played with. No way you let the side down nannywindow “wagging finger emoji” I agree with elsien, Enamel ware is a joy & because you have rescued it & will be pressing it into service I am awarding you a Gold Star ⭐️. Perhaps the rusting pans could be used in your Dad’s garden as plant pots? That way you would be happy & your Dad would still have the pots 😉
Agree with you elsien, old pans that are used & cared for always bring happy memories 😊
Good work newlywed 👏 Everything crossed 🤞that the chard & radishes give you a large crop 🤞
Good work bit_by_bit 👏
Excellent work villagelife 👏 you have definitely been busy 👏
Brilliant work Wednesday2000 👏 Must be a wonderful feeling to be ruthless 😉
Nice to see you Valda-Mal-Doran 👋 No ideas re the cast iron casserole dish but I am sure that plenty of ideas will be forthcoming. Just a quick observation, you don’t seem to love it so maybe that is your answer. The reason you may not love it is that cast iron tends to be very heavy 😱BE KIND. STAY SAFE. BREAK THE CHAIN. Thanks Mrs SD. It is certainly heavy! And im at a stage in life where with a toddler Im reaching for the speedier to manoeuvre items in my cooking drawer!
Im curious - does anyone really love their cast iron stuff or does anyone think they are too heavy to be worth it?
Looking forward to catching up on everyones decluttering - im a bit stuck on that at the moment as im on holiday in cornwall in a static caravan and I doubt the owners would appreciate it 😆 That said, holidaying like this makes you realise what bare basics you really need, particularly in the kitchen!Simplify and then Simplify some more!11
