I was hoping to return a DVD to the person that lent it to me but they didn't need it: perhaps it's time to gather things to sell?

1. WRITE AND USE “TO DO LISTS” - MINIMUM 30 MINUTE BURSTS OF ACTIVITY AT LEAST TWICE EVERY DAY2. KITCHEN WILL BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHT3. I WILL ENDEAVOUR TO BE NICE TO EVERYONE & TRY TO SEE THE FUNNY OR PECULIAR SIDE TO AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE
4. DAY TO DAY DECLUTTERING WILL CONTINUESaturday was another gloriously sunny day - shame I had no washing to do 😉 DH spent the morning & early afternoon watching MotoGP practices & qualifying, DSis in her room watching TV & I was downstairs clearing more programmes from the planner.DH & I then worked in the garden for a couple of hours. Pruning & weeding - we only did a small area but it has been done properly. I spent ages getting the weeds out from the decorative stones which are around the shed - they might look pretty but they are a pain to keep weed free 😱 Tomorrow we will do another area & DH will mow the grass - not nice enough to call a lawn 😉
I retired to the kitchen to make dinner - pasta bolognese + knocked up a soup 😉. The Bolognese sauce was delicious 😋 - my last two have been a bit bleugh 🙁1645 - 1648 Small glass bottle, plastic jar & lid, kitchen recycling, cardboard box - Recycled
1649 - 1650 Kitchen detritus, garden detritus - Binned
Good work StickyTheStickInsect 👏 - I don’t think your DH has quite got the hang of decluttering 😆😉 Is DS2 looking forward to nursery?Serendipitous short_bird 👏 & excellent decluttering 👏 Hopefully a jar of chutney will make its way to you 😉 Sounds like a good idea to sell a few bits - monies for the coffers is always good 😉
At least you tried Wednesday2000 🙂 Good work on the toiletries 👏
Every bit helps TC77- well done on decluttering when preoccupied 👏You are very welcome oceanspirit 🙂 Even if you only manage to take fifteen minutes for yourself EVERY DAY, it should help - try not to think about anyone else, just you 😉 May be easier said than done but you deserve ‘Me Time’ Feet up & beverage of your choice. Please feel free to visit & just ‘talk’ - we are supportive & are happy to send many virtual hugs 🤗Well done Nicnak 👏
Excellent work Foofoopuppy 👏 One bedroom cleared & cs bags dropped off = one Gold Star ⭐️ & you have Mr Puppy on board as well 👏 Hope you have a wonderful two weeks de-stressing. Please remember to pamper yourself & Mr Puppy 😉

Decluttered a leather handbag to mum along with a couple of potential sewing projects
Bought drawer dividers so my T-shirt’s are all neatly kondo style in my drawer (they were in different size baskets so neater now). Have about 20 that don’t fit at the moment but am nearly halfway through a sugar free September so hopeful they will fit soon. I tend to wear T-shirt’s and cardigans even in winter as I don’t often feel the cold.
more email newsletters unsubscribed from.Need to sort my charity into seasonal and donate the autumn winter stuff soon.Whenever I get back to the office, there are sandals and shoes, teabags and oatcakes and chocolate in my desk that need to be sorted through.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?7 -
Still here and cheering you on from the background.
Will so a proper update maybe tomorrow, but came on to say that in a virtuous moment I decided to sort out my shoes before putting the new sale ones away. Only to discover the new sale ones (too late to return) are pretty much identical to some new ones already in there that I have little memory of buying. That’s not great, is it?Also struggling with the one in one out clothing rule, despite being unable to close the wardrobe door. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.8 -
@elsien if you buy say a skirt, look at how many others you have that fit and then decide which is the last one you would pick out to wear each day... if you would only choose it when all others are in the wash, then that’s the one to go.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?12

I haven't decluttered any family members (although it has been tempting sometimes
) but lots of weeds decluttered today, why can't they take a hint that they're not wanted and just push off
Several plants cut down and tidied up ready for over wintering, so both green waste bins full and ready for collection on Tues.
I found 3 tubes of moisturiser, which I didn't like, so the 2 new ones have been put in the ongoing cs bag and 1 binned as it had been opened. Lots of recycling done, mainly cardboard boxes from more delivered items and plastic containers. Many programmes watched and deleted from TV planner. I managed to catch the scrappy man again so more metal gone. 2 single socks binned as their OH's didn't turn up, but they were used for dusting first and so fit for nothing.Looking forward to sorting the summer clothes/shoes and winter ones as the weather gets colder and then the swapping can commence in earnest.Oceanspirit Sorry should have replied earlier, I know how hard things can get. It is difficult to keep going and helping people when there is no other choice and you have no back up.Hugs.nanFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently8 -
Thanks Mrs SD for the link to Riverford for the chutney recipe.Spent the first two hours plus another hour this afternoon in the garden stripping back the foliage on the tomato plants. Two compost bags full.
Gave some tomatoes to the neighbours. Have a couple of kilos of big tomatoes to process. Made Passata in the week with 2kg of tomatoes and soup with another kilo.
Processed apples from Maternal Aunts garden - stewed them with blackberries - 2/3rd made into a crumble. 1/3 having on our breakfast for the next few days.Going to a friends house next week to scrumpy apples from her tree. I will take some jam and tomatoes down. Has said that I can pick some for my mum as well.Half dozen items binned from bedroom eg shower caps.Uu shower gel. Container gone into paper bag with others. If you take 5 empty beauty containers into John Lewis they give you £5 off your next purchase. It includes shower gel. Not perfume containers.Receipts, envelope and uu paper recycled.
Finished another book. Place in paternal auntie bag, ready to take down to her. Now reading a book that she gave me called Bomb Girls. Non fiction about Britain's secret army: The munitions women of world war 2.That's all for now.2025 Fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons

So DD made it to her new digs at Uni with minimal fuss. Once we set up her computer and helped make her bed she virtually kicked us out. She wanted to speak to her online boyfriend who had just got out of bed in Canada.
Today DS 1 & 2 helped lift the carpet and move furniture of the Bil & SiL. I just supervised and took Sil shopping. Luckily at their tip you didn't need to make an appointment so the carpet went straight there.
The journey both ways through the Peak Park was glorious and the grass so lush. It made me very happy, especially as bikers and their beautiful bikes were out in force.
Back home to a dinner cooked by DH. Another benefit was to be able to give both DS some things. A bag of bedding to one and a unit with plastic draws form Ikia to the other. Also returned a DVD.
So a good day all round and DH and I are going to be having a different life now there is just the two of us. DD will be coming every three or four weeks.
Mrs SD, ages ago you asked about the baby blankets. My friend is from Malawi and really it was just talking about Africa that got us both started on thinking about blankets for newborns. She is not working for a charity. She is going over for Christmas so I said I would get as many done as I could for the beginning of December. She will deliver them directly to the main hospital and to a local clinic. We are knitting, sewing and crocheting them and aiming for 30 x 30 inches. This is quite big but it means they will last some time. It doesn't matter if they are a bit smaller. Any colour but black.
Right. Early night tonight as I am working the beginning of the week next week. Fortunately this allows me to have a whole week off starting next Thursday without taking hols. Going to visit my DSis in portsmouth who was shielding last time I went down.

Funny thing is is that I have had that machine for over 30 years. I have sewed 4 wedding dresses (not all mine), hundreds of curtains, inumerous gifts all on the needle that it came with. Mmmmm. They said change it every eight hours of use
.
A friend of mine has her sewing machine serviced once a year, like a car, maybe it needs some love?Wife, mother, gardener, nurse, Big C survivor.
