2020 - banish the clutter

Funny thing is is that I have had that machine for over 30 years. I have sewed 4 wedding dresses (not all mine), hundreds of curtains, inumerous gifts all on the needle that it came with. Mmmmm. They said change it every eight hours of use
.
A friend of mine has her sewing machine serviced once a year, like a car, maybe it needs some love?

Been washing and painting walls today so only a couple of bits discarded
170-171: dead school trousers
172-174: 3 pairs of door handles (after finally being replaced)
Hope to de-clutter the kids to school tomorrow!

If i was doing the decluttering challenge for someone else's house i would have probably easily hit a 1000 by now.
Clearing out DM house, she is in hospital looking to go into a nursing home after so we've been really attacking the house. Fortunately one charity shop DM wants items going to are happy to take donations and havent stopped compared to the same charity shops in England.
For myself minimal but
371-373 birthday presents x 2 finally sent off (slightly late)
374 packaging for the above and for neutral items used (boxes are so hard to come by here so really making use of whst i've got left which isnt alot)
375 a big pile of plastic packaging taken to supermarket for recycling
376 a very beaten up cat toy-binned
377 large frame friend taking to the tip today for me
137-143 neutral items sent. Important now as organiser will be working on Christmas auctions
Slowly getting back into the swing of things

Not as much as lots of you on here but I'm having a new fridge/freezer delivered so today I looked in my file for the destruction books for the old seperate ones. Found them and put them to one side to go with the old ones that will go on Freecycle. I also looked through my file and threw out the paperwork for items we no longer posses. If anyone is interested I use a ring binder with the loose leaf clear pockets to put the paperwork in. I also staple the receipt to the last page of the instruction book and in the case of large items where the serial numbers always seem to be on the back I write that inside the instruction book too. Its been a godsend in the past when repairs have been needed or guarantees checked.
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle10 -

Yesterday DH got home about 7:15 p.m. He had mixed weather including rain. However he has completed the 2020 Round Britain Rally 🥳 He had a southern fried chicken starter & pork burger & chips for his main course on Monday night & full English for Tuesday’s breakfast.
Our dinner last night was lo roast vegetables with lo savoury mince for DH & I. DSis had lo beef sliced in gravy with oven chips. DH really enjoyed the hm bread - he had a slice with jam.Wednesday has started dry & sunny again. DH has filled the bird feeders & cleaned & polished the motorbike - lots of dead Welsh flies 😉 I still have no Decluttering Mojo 🙁☹️ so have only cleared down a few more programmes from TV planner. MrsG got an extra ‘free’ bag of carrots which she has donated to us. She is still thanking me for the apple crumble 😉 Our Robin is back from his holidays 🥳. DH & I have just had a bowl of hm soup with hm bread - definitely one of my best soups (even if I do say so myself 😉)

Useful info Ms_Green 👏 Such a shame about the books 😢 Like the idea of annual services for a sewing machine - especially for all those who use their machines frequently.
Good work EnergyShifter 👏
Every little bit helps VickyV 👏 I did have to laugh at the notion of decluttering kids 😂
Keep up the good work TC77 👏 Best wishes to your DD & hopefully your TLC will help her gain her equilibrium 😇
Happy_Kitties, the only problem with decluttering someone else’s house is that what we think of as clutter may not be to the other person 😱 so getting decisions is even more wearying than the actual decluttering 😱 Hope your DM is recovering well & that you manage to find a good nursing home for her. Keep up the excellent work with your neutral items Happy_Kitties 😇

Got rid of an old boiler and three radiators yesterday. The new ones look so much prettier.
Next week I will be replacing another four.
I have a target of decluttering some of the boxes upstairs this weekend. I want to get through at least 5 of them. Some have been done and stayed empty, others not so. I also have loads of mini sample perfumes that I need to start using. I think I have about 10 of them so will use half of one per day.
Here goes!September 2017 Debt = £25330
Starting afresh.
You can do anything if you put your mind to it. x7
