2020 - banish the clutter

Hello
Can I join you please? The house looks better than it used to, but there's still way too much stuff in here. I have a Room of Doom (spare bedroom). a Cupboard of Doom (under stairs) and two Sheds of Doom. Then there's all the surplus stuff in the kitchen/dining room, living room and my bedroom. The hall stairs and landing are clutter free as is the bathroom.
With 1st June being on a Monday - I like things like that- I'm ready to start (again) tomorrow. I'm on Annual Leave this week too - so that will help.
I'm looking forward to getting to know you all, and hereby give you permission to throw a fluffy mule at me if I start to flag.
Stay safe
Roundtuit xx

4. DAY TO DAY DECLUTTERING WILL CONTINUE
Sunday was a gloriously sunny day - clear blue skies but a rather a chilly breeze. I was up & at ‘em by 08:45 - unheard of for me 🤣 Did 3 loads of washing & it was ALL dried on the whirligig. Took the seedlings out of the shed, watered them, caged them plus watered the lettuce & carrot seedlings. Refilled the bird baths. Nice chat with neighbours G, A & J. Knitted another 7 sets of bonding squares + finished another preemie blanket. DH pootled in the garage. DSis had some more hg lettuce in a Caesar salad. Dinner was pork steaks, mash, green beans & carrots 🤤 I also finished off the jar of peach slices with cream.

Good work villagelife 👏 & TC77 👏
Snap elsien 😉 I also like clear worktops but currently not doing so well on that score 🙁
Re the plastic bags - you will be surprised how quickly you can sort them out - especially if you put aside a stack of them for the charity shops when they re-open. They can also be used to line your indoor waste bins rather than forking out for bin liners 😉
Great work short_bird 👏 into the 400’s 👏
Welcome aboard roundtuit 👋 You & I are peas in a pod - I really like Monday being the 1st of the month 😉 Not too sure any of us have the strength to throw a mule fluffy or otherwise - I know, I know being silly 😜 Joking aside, do you have a plan to tackle your clutter? or are you just diving in & making a start? Enquiring minds aka nosey c*ws want to know 😂 Really looking forward to learning more about you as you start your declutteting journey. By the way I absolutely adore your name 🥳 - does procrastination play a part in your choice of name 😂
Well earned rest Nicnak 🙂
Good work EnergyShifter 👏 - maybe now the sun is out you will read a few more books 😉

Morning
Thank you Mrs SDProcrastinate? Me? Nahhhh - well yes actually: I have Olympic medals in procrastination! I'm also quite good at 'not seeing' clutter and dust until someone knocks at the door - then it all jumps out and goes 'Boo'.
Anyway it's Monday 1st Juneand the blinkers are off. Gulp. My over all goal - to satisfy any curiosity - is to be able to relax and say 'come in' without dying inside when someone knocks at the door. Who knows one day I may welcome 'poppers'. I don't pop anywhere and I don't expect anyone to pop - I need to know that you are going to knock on my door. Unexpected knocks cause palpitations! To reach that goal I need the kitchen/diner, living room, h/s/l, and the bathroom to be presentable - otherwise I'll be on tenterhooks in case my guest asks to use the loo. (Where's the blue haired emoji when you need her?)
Everywhere is a WIP and I'm not sure where to start. I've learned that where doesn't matter though, it's the actual starting that counts. So I'm going to Marikon all the empty carrier bags lurking in, on, under and around the kitchen table today. They won't be leaving the house but they take up a lot less room when folded, and I'll be able to see what's underneath them
I'll post what's left the house at the end of the day - need to get into a rhythm and routine.
Big Smile.

I find this water shortage thingy amusing - I'm from Manchester - transplanted to the South East - and there is a huge difference in the amount of rain. Because of where Manchester lies in relation to the pennines, we'd get rain, it would tootle off hit the pennines and come back and rain on us again. When I first moved I'd take the washing in when I saw black clouds, but now I know it probably won't rain, so i don't bother. Another 'problem' living in the sunny south with a big garden - we have a pheasant family who eat at our bird feeders - well the dropped bits on the floor - did you know that male pheasants squawk, loudly, female ones just cluck quietly - our local pheasant (we called him Mr P) starts just as dawn is breaking, and once he's awake so are we. Didn't get pheasants in Oldham, Manchester!
As a Christmas present for the wild birds we bough some peanut butter and bug filled coconut halves. Now we just buy the buggy peanut butter, but could do with a use for left over coconut halves. We're putting one in the dishwasher next time we run it to see how it does. If it comes out clean and useable then I'll use them for measuring - I keep breaking cup measures (mainly because I won't fork out to get metal ones - I will if the coconut doesn't work). I've also bought a capsule maker and empty vegan capsules to make supplements rather than buy them. I reckon I can get enough of the various ones we take into 2 capsules to take once a week. A lot of vitamin pills and supplements give a massive dose - like our vitamin b12 gives 1000 micrograms which is 40000 percent of the amount needed - and too much can, at times, be worse than not enough. Powder is usually a lot cheaper too.
Another haul of 'stuff' used up or binned. I'll update my figures at some point soon.
Stay safe everyone.

Or even worse, when you think you've made the place look respectable and people (siblings - everyone else is too polite) still comment and you have to look again with a fresh set of eyes.
My backdrop for this whole decluttering malarkey is the tortoise and the hare. Can't risk burning myself out on the road paved with good intentions. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.9 -
