Switch completed on the 8th, Wines code arrived TodayWine is on the way

Retired 1st July 2021.
This is not investment advice.
Your money may go "down and up and down and up and down and up and down ... down and up and down and up and down and up and down ... I got all tricked up and came up to this thing, lookin' so fire hot, a twenty out of ten..."0 -
Please you got a result. However they have given me an insight into their efficiency and because of this will not bother taking the matter any further.keiran said:CRISPIANNE3 said:
I now know I got one of the credit questions wrong. They then phoned and said could I send ID doc and to do this online. I did this about the 20 November. I was advised I would hear within two business days but still waiting. I only did it for the wine.gozaimasu said:I applied on 18/11 and they still haven't got back to me! For some reason the automatic credit check failed so they had to check manually. Shouldn't really take 3 weeks though! Tried to chase them by phone which sent me to a webchat which was for savings only, was like trying to get blood out of a stone getting to the right place. Finally got through on the phone and was told that there was a "technical issue" with the credit check but they'd get back to me "as soon as possible".Only chasing because I want the wine!
I didn't hear back initially after sending documents. 2 weeks later I phoned them, and they said it should be normally processed within 2 days.
I re-sent the documents and heard back within hours
So worth re-sending0 -

same has happened to me. I put the code in yesterday and it said the wine would come within 14 days, but I haven't had a confirmation e-mail, and now they have re-sent yesterdays e-mail telling me my wine is ready to claim, but it's just the same code and it says it's already been claimed. maybe they use the same internet banking team as TSB?Jazzking said:Got my wine code on Tuesday and did the order, ticked for updates, but didn't get any confirmation. Then got sent the same code again yesterday but it says it isn't valid. When you use your code should I have expected a confirmation email?1 -
Also, "You can only benefit from this offer once. If you are a joint account holder, you can only take part once between you and your joint account holder." So does this mean that if I want to open a joint account I need to make sure that the other account holder hasn't already benefited from the offer?Brewer20 said:To get the wine offer.....Within 31 days of your account opening- Apply online for our Virgin Money Current Account.

I wanted my wife to take advantage of this offer too. I looked at it this way, if you open a sole account me and then she opened one then yes each would get the offer. But i then couldn't add myself on to a joint account to receive the offer again, neither could she if with my name.pphillips said:

My wife mentioned this, why can't you add me to a joint, she doesn't want another account (sole account) too much hassle she keeps telling me, low income, too many hoops to go through etc. She's decided on a Coventry saver @1.3%, not much faff their as she's already a member (account holder)0 -
If your wife doesn't want another account, she can close it once she got the wine. Better still, she could keep it as a donor account for the next switch offer.Brewer20 said:

I forgot to add, we'll need to set her up with 2 DD on her account she'd be switching. She's never had DD's on any account, another stumbling block. It would be doable but I can't persue it any more. She's got two dormant accounts now, Tesco and TSB, neither with any DD's. When I mentioned wine normally it would be yeah let's go for it. Since she has to watch her blood pressure she's eased off on the wine, not that she was anywhere near OTT drinking it, far from it, just careful now of how much. It might be different if it was a cash incentive to switch, the last one for her was Lloyds, still got it and the mag subscription for now.colsten said:

I remember seeing on the virgin website that we can opt for a non-alcoholic wine case.
