My FPs from Santander were received almost instantly in my Virgin accounts. Are you sure you used the right sort code and account number?1

Notepad_Phil said:I opened a couple of personal current accounts and one joint current account a few days ago and have today tried to electronically fast pay into them a small test amount from some of my other internet bank accounts. The sort code and account numbers that I was given during the application match up with the details that I see when logged in, but despite the first payment being sent at noon there is still no sign of the money arriving. The accounts where the payments came from are showing the payment so I don't think it's stuck on that side, so is it normal for payments into Virgin to take this long?
Payments to the second account that I opened today arrived instantly.1 -
Need to contact your bank especially if all the payments were the same as they could be held up by their fraud department. Usually ring you to check hopefully not from India as their American English is so hard to understand"Look after your pennies and your pounds will look after themselves"0

These were then pasted into the sort code and account numbers for the payments to Virgin.I hope it's as per SuperHans1 and it'll be there tomorrow when I log in.0

You sent this morning so should have arrived I have sent some new payments tonight and they were in immediately. Worth contacting your bank to see if there is a stop on them"Look after your pennies and your pounds will look after themselves"0

If it helps others make sense of it:- I have never been a member of Clydesdale, B or Yorkshire Bank. I do hold Virgin regular and E-saver regular accounts but these are either branch-based or accessed via a separate log-in system.
- I had a slight delay for the first one to authenticate my identity, this didn't required sending anything off. I suspect its because I'm using a different address than normal due to Covid-19 (to ensure I get the post!) so an automated check failed.
- For the second one I started the application via the 'already a Virgin Money customer' link, and it recalled previous application information (personal and employment etc.). I submitted it last night (it required manual review), but it was approved and sat waiting for me to complete and access from 8:14 this morning.

Logged into my VM app this morning, and the £1k that was happily sitting in there since Saturday has now gone missing. The transactions I have made have now all also gone missing, and it says there is no transaction history.
Stange things are going on with this bank. Personally now wishing I had steered clearI consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?0 -
Same thing happened to me, presume it is pending ID check and will be fixed. They have had my ID documents for only two working days.0

Just seems disconcerting they allow you to fill the account up before blocking it, then the money disappears after a couple of days! They have designed it to make people sweat and to overload their phone lines at a time when they wouldn't want their staff overloaded.I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?0
