I’m  sorry I can’t help you as I have Yorkshire Bank Current Accounts so they identified me immediately. Try ringing them on 0800 678 3654 open 8 to 8. They are obviously just checking against Yorkshire Bank details
Thank you.  When I rang them earlier today, they only suggested that I try to apply using Yorkshire Bank website rather than Virgin, however, I (probably wrongly) assumed that if I did this I wouldn't be able to view it along side my other Virgin (savings) account.

I don't know whether applying through the YB website means your Virgin current account would show in your YB banking, though I doubt it would.

What I do know for certain is that your Virgin current account will not show alongside your existing Virgin savings accounts. The only savings account that will appear alongside your Virgin current account is the one that they automatically open for you when they open the current account.

You will not be able to view the VM current account alongside your VM savings accounts wherever you apply. There are three totally separate online sites for current accounts, savings accounts and credit cards.

Just remembered though that you will see your linked savings account in the VM current account site.

Sadly this only pays 1% now shortly to come down to 0.50%

When you use Virgin Money App you can see your Yorkshire Bank Current Accounts as well as Virgin Money Current Accounts and linked savings account. When you log into the Yorkshire Bank App you can see exactly the same accounts ie all Virgin and Yorkshire Bank Accounts and the Virgin saving linked. You use the same password or you can use a finger identification if your phone allows. The Virgin Money Regular Savers and their other savings accounts are on a different platform hopefully they will all be together in the near future.

In addition to what colsten said, as well as not being able to see all Virgin Money accounts in any one place, you also have to remember 2 separate sets of log in details. Good job we've all got time on our hands at the moment.

Interesting little quirk is the saver shows the 1% rate when you click on it, in the little 'summary' section, but the current account makes no mention of the 2% when you click on the account.

And for the real question, anyone manage to get a second one to open?
In answer to my own question, yes.

dcs34 Do you mean a joint account or a sole account for your other half? Or are you saying you have two sole accounts in your name only

I have also managed to open a second sole account. In fact when I spoke to someone at Virgin Money they suggested there was no limit to how many current accounts you can have - has anyone gone further than two?

I have not faced any of the identification issues that others have - I've had several online and in branch Virgin Money accounts but no dealings with Yorkshire Bank or Clydesdale previously. My applications were approved instantly online.

I opened a couple of personal current accounts and one joint current account a few days ago and have today tried to electronically fast pay into them a small test amount from some of my other internet bank accounts.

The sort code and account numbers that I was given during the application match up with the details that I see when logged in, but despite the first payment being sent at noon there is still no sign of the money arriving.

The accounts where the payments came from are showing the payment so I don't think it's stuck on that side, so is it normal for payments into Virgin to take this long?
