VM obviously managed to verify me electronically, as they let me open an account, but as soon as I filled the account up they required ID.I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?0

Did they email you wanting that info or some other way?

Today 10/5/20, I applied for new Virgin Money Current Account as the bumf states it pays 2.02% AER gross interest on £1000 in credit, has no account fees, and no fee for overseas debit card use (cash and transactions). Sounds good to me, but have I understood correctly? Can't see any requirement about minimum monthly payments in, or monthly DDs, can you?Oddly, despite successfully logging in online with my old Virgin Money details (previous VM ISA, transferred elsewhere in April 2020), and despite also previously having had a Clydesdale bank account (now closed as it didn't have any ongoing benefits for me), Virgin Money said it could not identify me and will post something to me so I can continue my application. No problem apart from delay. I can only assume it's because I don't have any Virgin Money or Clydesdale or Yorkshire Bank accounts open right now, even though I have not changed my personal details. Maybe the 3 financial organisations are just finding it difficult to join the dots during this lockdown (for each other, as well as for me)?0

Just applied and got a message saying they need to check the details and will email / text me a link.
It asked about my bills and how I was going to fund it, so said I would transfer from my account with another bank and £1000 annually, as I have no interest in switching or paying bills from it. Just wanted 2% on £1000 to help boost my money.
I did apply for another current account a few weeks ago, so maybe that is why.... Just have to wait and see0 -
I got the same message. They responded I was successful within one working day. Same also on bills/funding.
