It is New Year's Eve Eve!!
Did 2 hours volunteering already, home for lunch and will go back and do some more. I am bored off my head sat on my sofa, it classes as exercise too as there are a lot of stairs and heavy lifting and direction changes with your hands above your head. Well, there is the way I do it. :j:j:T:T:T
Grateful for making it to NSD 12, for not having to use a foodbank, for happy people, and for a shiny new decade coming up over the hill in which I will shift some of this weight. After all, it is soup season, so there is no excuse for me. I know how to do this, I have done it before, I just need to listen to me:rotfl:.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Hello everyone :hello:
I've not checked in for a couple of days because I really haven't been doing anything. And I mean really not doing anything. Sitting in the house on my bum watching tv and crocheting. I'm desperate to get my current blanket finished this year...
Nothing really to report - I've frozen leftovers, tidied up (Christmas tree is staying up until NY though) and tried to stay on top of things, but I've honestly just enjoyed time relaxing.
Thinking of those of you that are finding times a bit tough (lots of love Toni'sfriend)Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

My lovely son took me to see my sister in law today. Greatly appreciated. She is still very unwell and, to be honest, if she gets out of hospital it will not be for a very long time. Very. very sad. Thank you all once again for your kind thoughts.
In return I've done his ironing and a little bit of washing and I'm making his dinner tomorrow night. Himself and I are having a carry out Chinese. We do this very rarely but I feel physically and mentally exhausted so I reckon we deserve it.
On a brighter note to end the year my neighbour is getting married tomorrow. I have been guarding the wedding dress for the last few months and finally got to see it out of it's cover last night. Absolutely stunning! And we saw her two little girls in their flower girl dresses. They looked so beautiful I was almost moved to tears. We're not great on social occasions so we've declined an invitation to attend the wedding but can't wait to see the photographs. Such a lovely family and great neighbours.
Lots to do for the rest of the week so must get on and do a list.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0 -
Today I am grateful for fresh air, for the library, for buses, for a couple of bargain items for dd's bday next month in the ch shops, for dd doing part of a hwk project and enjoying it, for other peoples' diaries to peruse, for dh prepping tea, for a great night's sleep.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

Emptied our money box today, we add to it all year then it goes towards holidays for the following year, we had £281 in it, we were very pleased, it is now safely in the bank.
Have spent the rest of the day cleaning, taking some of the Christmas decorations down, the trees are up for a few more days though, washing almost dried on the line and now finishing off on the heated airer, walked the dog a couple of times too.
No money spent.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Foodbank/charity donation - all donations now done.
Eat well - been really good today, am going out for dinner with my parents soon so that may all go out the window!
Savings/debt repayment - all done for this month and have set January budgets too. Not looking too bad.
Treat yourself - Read a bit more last night and have bought my book to my parents' so I can continue.
Invitations - all done and under budget, onto January with its distinct lack of anything social.
Very merry Christmas - nothing new here.
Exercise - dog walking and gym again today. Back felt better, did some deadlifts but at a lower weight, back feels good so hoping it was nothing major.
Fun - gym was fun today. Had a disagreement with OH as I was leaving to see my parents, that'll be the last time I see him this year, annoying but he holds on to stupid things and I'm not going to run around cow-towing to him over something silly (use of a pan for goodness sake!).
Understand what motivates you - done.
NSDs - Aim for 15 NSDs. Not a NSD today, exchanged my car batteries and paid for the Dartford tunnel charge as well.0 -

CGot back from Wales via a tour of Welsh, cheshire and a bit of Shropshire scenery with a beautiful Welsh dragon (carved from wood, about 12' long and 4' - 6' high set into the trees) and a herd of buffalo, with a stop at a garden centre with the slowest ever service but excellent company (we sat in the doggy friendly part and shared atable with two young ladies and an adorable pug - also chatted to several more owners and patted their dogs). I have serious dog deprivation.
Came on here and read through your posts but went to bed soon after 9pm (turned the laptop off instead of recharging).
Had a wonderful time, food was excellent (only had ice cream for one dessert and passed on dessert yesterday evening), the mostly young staff were friendly, really helpful (the receptionist noticed mum had a walker and had persuaded someone in a downstairs room to swap with us whilst mum was enjoying the welcome mnce pies and cup of tea (I don't need mince pies).
Hotel had a full size reindeer decoration. It had small strips of darker brown fur sewn into it's sides so I think it had once been like a traditional rocking horse with the sled type runners. It had a notice saying it was feeling it's age so please not to sit on him. Round the corner was a full size mummy polar bear and two cubs.
I'm having no problems relaxing. I saw a cartoon with the stages of Christmas on it. Up to the 26th it was feeling festive, 27th Dec to Jan 2 was 'not knowing what day it was and compensating with cheese' and January was 'cold and giving things up'.
I don't think we'ver overeaten. We did spend a long time recovering from Christmas dinner but it did include lots of veg. I tried not to make too many things as we were going away and on Friday I pulled a lot of perishable stuff out of the fridge and divided it into the Friday meal, things we could take away with us (I had spinach leaves and red pepper with turkey scraps on my wraps, took celery, carrot and cucumbe stisks, 2 apples, 3 tangerines and the remains of a dip) and what was to be thrown away (1 slice of corned beef and the remaining spinach leaves - had to pick a couple out and thought 3 more days in the fridge would leave only green mush). I cooked meditereanean roast veg and another batch of garlic mushrooms and stashed them in the freezer and made a french stick into 2 foil wrapped garlic breads (also in freezer).
Still have milk, part baked rolls, fizzy water and veg in the shed. Not feeling like going home (or outside the door atm) but have a mid-afternoon appointment and need to go and check on the state of play there (should have gone Friday but messaged instructions and helpful hints to DS3). Then I'm back here tonight - don't know till when. I don't know if the cleaner is coming or is still minding her grandchildren. I will be home at weekend. Then I have an appointment at Salford Royal on Monday and will come back here, as mum has an early appointment at Salford on Tuesday. Think it's back to 'normal' after that except that January is a bit 'appointment heavy' and I still need to sort medicine reviews and bring some of mum's renewal dates forward.
So many things to be grateful for - dragons, the NHS, buffalo (and other creatures brought back from the verge of extinction), for all the wonderful things in the world, for family and friends, warmth, comfort, a roof over one's head, enough to eat and blessings and hope for anyone without any of those things. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0
