NSD yesterday taking me to 13/15, will have to spend today as currently munching the last of the bread for breakfast. Will have a look and see if there's anything else we need over the next few days and then hopefully will be able to get to 15 NSDs.

NSD 11 today. We are out of bread, so we are having curry for lunch and pasties for supper. Or pizza. Not sure. Either way it will not/cannot involve sliced bread.

Ditty - the dip in the harbour sounds fab! Crazy but fab - but I suppose the weather is a lot milder than usual this year.

DawnW- I loved the puddles and pegs age - not so much the tissue boxes and cackling, but I was known to sacrifice a box if I absolutely needed 10 minutes of distraction. They got stuffed back in afterwards, so no waste. Bless! Simple pleasures.

Will clean and hoover the middle floor today and I have already cleaned the bathrooms. Taking it easy as I am much improved on yesterday and want to go volunteering tomorrow. Just the usual festive laundry folding and yuletide washing up going on here. Nobody wants to go anywhere or do anything.

    Afternoon all :)
Just back from a decent walk with OH and the dog :)
Nothing spent, no shops visited, so NSD 12 for me today. Won't quite make the target of 15, but will be close.
Operation use- up continues, yummy spicy carrot and lentil soup made for lunch today using up elderly carrots. And there is enough left for lunch tomorrow as well. :T Dinner will be leftover cold meat, a jacket potatoes and lurking salad stuff. Will be nicer than it sounds!

Next task is to un-decorate the Christmas tree, as it is looking a bit sorry for itself, and will benefit from being put back outside and given a can of water!

Fox - the water was 5 and the air was 6 so fab for a holiday dip :-) thats where the getting warm on before hand comes in handy. I am aspiring to be more of an open water swimmer next summer :-)

  • Yet another quiet day today. We watched "Indianna Jones and the Last Crusade". I love those films. I think it's the child in me

The boy is coming for Dinner so th curry is heating through in the slow cooker.

He's taking me to hospital tomorrow to visit my sister in law. To be honest I'm really dreading going because she's complaining, refusing to eat or drink and is asking everyone to take her home. Understandable, I know, but I just think it's really going to upset me as she was just the lovliest, most positive person before she became ill. My nephew says he is more than happy with the care she is getting but it's a worry.

Lots to do this week. Must really make a plan so I don't forget anything.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.

Today I am grateful for time with dd, for Indiana Jones, for my sandbag, for the ideas on the '20 20s for 2020' thread, for my jammies, for finding 2 'riot shields' in the street - how? who? why??! for Arthur Christmas entertaining 45 kids at kids klub this morning, for the forgiving nature of lycra.

Foodbank/charity donation - all donations now done.
Eat well - finally finished the last of our Xmas yule log and baileys cream last night (it was YUM) so feel like less of a pig today. Have been eating normally although not tracking my intake again, I think I'll just wait until I go back to work.
Savings/debt repayment - all done for this month and have set January budgets too. Not looking too bad.
Treat yourself - Read a book yesterday (only a small one). I don't make enough time to read so it was nice to do that
Invitations - all done and under budget, onto January with its distinct lack of anything social.
Very merry Christmas - have tidied most things. Decided to leave the tree up until after New year as couldn't be bothered to take it down.
Exercise - went to the gym yesterday, hurt my back doing deadlifts. Went for another dog walk today and then went horse riding. Felt it in my back so have taken some painkillers.
Fun - riding was nice today, a couple of people wanted to stop and chat which was nice, and the ground has finally dried out a bit! Yay!
Understand what motivates you - done. Thought of some horsey goals for 2020 as well today, nothing extravagant but enough to keep me motivated.
NSDs - Aim for 15 NSDs. Not a NSD today, my car key battery is almost flat, thought I'd be smart and use the spare only to find that was flat too. So went to buy new batteries only to get home and find they were too big, so will have to exchange them tomorrow.

Today I have mostly been eating pastry.

Went for a long dog walk in the woods with DH (and the dog), it was very muddy and the dog was going berserk, he is paying for it now - he needs to remember he is 11 soon not 2. DD has gone to the cinema with her friends and then out for tea, she will need picking up soon.

DS has bought some new running shoes today, they were on sale, he did need some new ones so it was as good a time as any to get them.

Had a Sainsburys Vegan Beef Wellington for tea today which we got YS yesterday, jhad it with mash, sprouts and carrots and it was gorgeous, there is another plate full for tomorrow too.

I think I am going to have a bath later and read my Christmas book (A Woman in Black) then a glass of Ribena Winter Spice - and no chocolate.

DH is at work tomorrow so I am hoping to get the house completely cleaned so we can go out for the day Tuesday.

  • Evening everyone
I am having a lovely relaxing time visiting family.
Went for afternoon tea with sisters - was cheaper than advertised, not sure if it was a mistake on the bill, but we had a lovely time together and at less cost than expected :)
Went for a walk with parents today.
Will claim yesterday as a NSD as I only bought petrol and DD1 shared the cost with me. Think that makes 6 this month
Enjoying catching up on everyone's news while sat by a real log fire :)

    Evening all...

I'm really enjoying a few days off and going inwards and reflecting and planning. To me that's what this time of year is all about... Outside it appears like nothing is growing - but underground life stirs... waiting for Spring to start to grow.

That said... as one of my dedications this coming year is to commit to restoring my health, well-being and happiness... I have been slacking off on exercise. So I got myself to the gym today and it felt good (in a 'this is going to kill me' kind of way!!!) :rotfl:

I'm on a 15 day streak with my mindfulness and journal writing, and I actually look forward to getting up early on a morning!!!

Cooked up a batch of root vegetables that needed using with half a bag of red lentils so have some 'soup' for a few days. Managed another NSD too! I am realising since I split with my other half over a month ago - my spending habits have improved dramatically!!!

    Today = NSD number 13

Been throwing spare cash at my credit card debt (still 0% until mid-March) and got it under the £4K mark at last... Hoorah!

Have a lovely evening folks x
