    Happy Christmas, everyone!

    ]Foodbank/charity donation - done
Eat well - hit & miss
Savings/debt repayment. All CCs paid in full . Savings made by stos/ ddrs/ salary deduction. Some extra paid to BTL mtge and Small bits added to hol fund
Treat yourself - Make sure you take time for yourself during December. Relax and read a book, have a bubble bath, light some candles, etc. - still watching old episodes of 'House' 2 new chick-lit books for Xmas
Invitations - Accept a maximum of 2 invitations during December. - Had 2 outings - both were kindly paid for by others :)
Very merry Christmas - Don't get sucked into all the consumerism that surrounds Christmas, all fine
Exercise - At this time of year, it can be difficult to motivate yourself to get out the house and exercise. Aim for at least 10 minutes outside, even just a short walk around the block. - nope .

Fun - Think of fun things to do during December, preferably free. - cathedral service, Xmas carol service , decorating the trees and rooms with the kids, some cheesy Xmas films and the escape rooms (family outing instead of panto. Plan some walks up the common too)
Understand what motivates you - Think about what you want to achieve next year and why. How will you achieve your goals? - need to give goals and plans some thought during the month. Florida being all paid for before we go is a definite. A good reduction on BTL another, increased pension contributions (want us both retired in 10 years) Oh - and we've vaguely planned a renovation project for 2 parts of the house - likely cost c £7-10K:eek:
NSDs - Aim for 15 NSDs. - 4/15 - may have had a couple in the last week but have no idea really
I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soul
    Repaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NIL
    Net sales 2024: £20

Hope everyone had a good Xmas and is recovering from all the overindulgence!

Foodbank/charity donation - all donations now done.
Eat well - Xmas Dinner was pretty good, we have loads of food left for today which I'm going to cook soon.
    Savings/debt repayment - done.
Treat yourself - Xmas day is always a big treat!
Invitations - all done and under budget.
Very merry Christmas - all done!
Exercise - I went to the gym this morning, wasn't planned but woke up early and wasn't hungover so figured why not!
Fun - gym class was fun. Plan to spend the rest of the day eating, drinking and watching TV.
    Understand what motivates you.
NSDs - Aim for 15 NSDs. Up to 14/15. I've actually spent today, I was in town using the gym so thought I'd pop to wilko and get a few bits I needed for the rabbits, I planned to get some new hand towels in January and saw they had a sale on so I picked up two while I was there. No other spends planned. I couldn't believe how busy the shops were this morning, I only live in a small town but the supermarket looked packed!

    NSD 8 today! woo hoo!

Fun fact on Boxing Day - St Stephen is the patron saint of deacons, headaches, horses, coffin makers, and masons. He was stoned to death, which might explain why he is the patron saint of headaches.

    So there.

All food will be from stores, which are heaving. I am not planning on spending until I run out of milk. I still have 4 ltrs so it might be ok until the weekend. No guarantees though!
I am making a shopping list of all the nonsense we need before they go back to school, and I will go to the shops and blitz the lot in one day. More time planning, less time shopping. Of course the kids wanted to go shopping this morning.... just to mess up my plans.

  • Hello everyone
Just checking in after the festivities. I had a lovely day, just me and the kids for most of it - plus a couple of hours after lunch with my sister and her family. No spending done yesterday, and I'm also avoiding the sales for today as well. All I've wanted to do is sleep :rotfl::rotfl: so that's what I've been doing. As I spent hours yesterday putting flatpack furniture together and making dinner I only properly started relaxing after 4pm when I went to my sister's - so I'm still making up for that. There's tons of leftovers so the kids can just fend for themselves - but I think they're still both eating chocolate to be honest.
I hope that you're all well and had a peaceful day yesterday

    Afternoon all :)
Just checking in to claim NSD 9 today, as there is no way I am going out in the wind and rain to go shopping. And I don't need anything, there is plenty of food.
Hope everyone had a great day yesterday :)

Hope everyone is having a good time. I am currently having an hour to myself with a glass of mulled wine and some panetone (sp), DH has gone to his parents with the kids, I don't often go, not because I'm not welcome or anything.

Walked the dog this morning but the exercise has been minimal for yesterday and today - oh well. When everyone gets back we will watch something festive and have a cuppa.

Went to Christingle on Christmas Eve which was lovely, juiced the oranges on Christmas Day to have with breakfast. Watched Gavin & Stacey last night which DD had been counting down the minutes to, when it ended she was hysterical and in tears - she is rather highly strung to say the least.

DH is having another Christmas dinner today with leftovers but as our kids don't like roast dinners we only buy what we need so there is only enough for one, I'll have a baked potato I think and the kids can have something from the freezer. I wanted to take the kids to see Knives Out tomorrow but all the showings are at night, I assume all the screens are showing Frozen and Star Wars - both of which would be torture to me - so we will have to do something else.

Today I am grateful for a good night's sleep, for my sandbag for making a tough workout even harder, for a welcome shower and scrub up, for my new needle felting wools (I got a rainbow batch of colours), for downloaded books, for cheese, for being able to stay inside all day.

  • Hope you all had a lovely Christmas Day. We had a quiet relaxing time, just the two of us. Had gammon and spiced red cabbage (not worth getting a turkey). The cabbage was fabulous. Soaked some raisins in brandy and added them just before heating through. I could get addicted!

The Boy spent the day with his dad and is coming to us shortly for Boxing Day dinner. Got some lovely messages from my family in Canada and New Zealand which was so nice. My cousin's son and grandaughter are coming from Canada to see me in April. Also got some greetings from family that I hadn't seen in many years asking if I would like to meet up with them. Taking that slowly but some good news for a change.

Tomorrow, I really need to sort this house out. There is chocolate everywhere. xx
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.
