  • Evening everyone

Foodbank/charity donation - all donations now done.
Eat well - meals are good but too many biscuits and chocolates!!
Savings/debt repayment - paid to CCs. Probably won't manage any extra but not used CC for 13 months, all Xmas spends out of current account & money saved for the festive season.
Treat yourself - lots of treats - lie ins; watching fave tv programmes; reading; pottering at home :)
Invitations - one remaining social event - lunch with sisters; have requested budget option but not sure if I'm very popular :(
Very merry Christmas - yes has been!
Exercise - been out for a walk most days.
Fun - enjoying relaxed time at home.
    Understand what motivates you. Yep
NSDs - Aim for 15 NSDs. only managed 4 so far....

Off to visit family for a few days so probably won't post.
Hope everyone is having a relaxing time.

Eat well - cooked the last of the food yesterday, OH couldn't quite finish his so I put it in the fridge, not sure if it'll get eaten. Can't eat it myself as it's meat otherwise I would just to avoid any waste. Still have loads of snacks left but getting back to normal food wise.
    Savings/debt repayment - done.
Treat yourself - was able to relax a bit more yesterday.
Invitations - all done and under budget.
Very merry Christmas - all done! Started tidying up all the mess yesterday, will do more today.
Exercise - went for a little walk yesterday, not very far but I needed the air. Today is dog walking and gym potentially.
Fun - met up with my friend on her lunch break, she seems in a really good place after a tough year so I'm chuffed for her. We decided to go on a little mini break together on the cheap at some point in 2020.
Understand what motivates you - I joined the Frugal Living challenge on here yesterday as a way to motivate myself and hold myself accountable.
NSDs - Aim for 15 NSDs. My meet up with my friend ended up being a freebie so I'm now on 15/15 :j will aim for a few more before the end of the year. I did need allergy medication but as it's a health spend I haven't counted it.

    NSD 10 !! double figures:j:j whoop whoop.
I am sick. Sore throat and sneezing and coughing and allsorts. So, hot bath and hairwash this morning, made a smokey (soya) cheese and potato pie which is in the oven right now doing its thing (will be served with kale and Brussels), made a big pot of veg soup while I was waiting.

I have a load of pineapple in my fridge I need to use up. Did think of pizza topping (DS1 will not eat) or upside down cake (DS2 will not eat) - anyone got any other suggestions? My head is fuzzy so can't hold a thought for very long.

Still have £200 in the budget, with 3 days left to go, and 4 litres of milk in the fridge (not counting the 'experimental' litre of pea milk).

Slathered on my Xmas face cream (aunt-in-law) and sitting on the sofa swaying delicately. Not going out. Might hit the medicinal amaretto Xmas cake, which is only half gone (small slices!) and is becoming nicer every day. Everyone likes it except the smallest small. But, to be fair, he does not like anything that everyone else eats. So no change there then (he is having sesame soy noodles and garlic broccoli for lunch ie. leftovers)

Gr0ggs has a new vegan glazed ring doughnut in store, and is releasing a steakless bake next Thursday. Junk food, nutritional value of a sock, but will be terribly handy if travelling :rotfl: or just a manically busy day. Nice to have the choice though.

  • Himself and I have had a really quiet day watching more old movies. Actually for "quiet" read "totally lazy". I really don't seem to be able to get myself motivated Really must get myself together as I have loads that I need to do. Have to go see sister in law on Monday, New Year's Eve on Tuesday (neighbour is getting married), New Year's Day on Wednesday and I'm off on holiday the following Monday. Thank goodness for the slow cooker. Made a curry for tomorrow.

At least the finances all seem good

I think I really need a good night's sleep. I keep waking up in a panic. No reason for it. Himself wants me to go to see the doc but in all honestly I think it's just because things have been difficult recently.

Anyway, on of my favourite films is on in a minute so whether he likes it or not we're watching it.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.

Decided to walk into town and back today, it is about 6 miles round trip, was very suprised when DS said he would come too. Whilst there I bought DS some new socks, some chips for DS and DH for lunch, some Rennies for DH and some porridge oats from the health food shop where you can fill your own bag. Also got a few YS items in Sainsburys.

DH has washed the cars this afternoon and I've cleaned a bit, tidied up and dealt with the never ending laundry.

  • Not posted for a few days, wed, fri and today (sat) all NSDs so 17/15. Not sure how that has happened! Today was Christmas day take 2 with the family members who have been working all week. Been out for dog walks every day, have been riding but no other exercise really. Festive fun has been had in abundance. Sensible eating has gone out the window, but I have bits in the fridge to eat well but in less quantity tomorrow and back to normal on Monday. I have managed to transfer a little bit of leftover money to a savings account.
January has to be super frugal with no unnecessary spending!

    Evening all :)
Shattered after babysitting 2 year old GS for just over 24 hours

But nothing spent, so NSD 11 for me :)
Not much else done other than wrangling a child who clings to me like a limpet, but he 'helped' me by:
Being good while we took the dog for a walk this morning. The dog behaved as well, which was good because holding the the dog lead while steering the temperamental old pushchair are a bit of a challenge for arthritic hands.
Passing me clothes pegs when I pegged the washing out - till he got distracted by a puddle :rotfl:
Putting things in the bin. Lots of things, including things I had to fish out again.
Anyway, all done now, and can look forward to starting to get the house back to normal after Christmas. My Christmas tree is telling me that it wants to go back outside in the garden!
  • Evening everyone!

So yesterday I ended up spending £1.50 grrr. Had a free uber-eats voucher and my food came in just over with delivery and i tipped him a quid. So no NSD yesterday. Today however, I bagged one... bought my medication (which doesn't count) but resisted the lure of the rest of the store. I have so much food in - I am going to really REALLY try and run my cupboards and fridge down... See how long I last. I need to stay motivated...

    Today = NSD number 12

Thank you AppleMuncher for January's thread! I will go and sign up, and to Misstara for this month's awesome thread too. It (and everyone on here) has helped re-spark my inner NSK!!!

Today I am grateful and in awe of young people in family slowly finding their own feet despite a range of challenges and setting up their first homes and all being so generous and positive. What a pleasure.

My treat was a run and winter dip in harbour away on holiday wth my sister. As well as lots of lovely food.

Have been crap on the NSD front except I think I managed 2 while away on the 24th and 25th.

Am still thinking about goals for next year and keep returning to - park runs, squeezing budget massively, job / path issues, will start to add to January thread over the next couple of days.
