Had £30 left from this months grocery budget so I have transferred that to our holiday fund. DD got paid at the beginning of this week but I moved the money until his normal pay day so we will be starting next month on 26th as usual.
Plan for today is:
Go for a run
Shower and dress
Coffee and toast
Clean and tidy whole house with help of everyone
Lunch
Dog walk followed by dog bath
Wash and dry dog bedding
Mulled wine, mince pie and a sit down
Change for Christingle at church
Home, pj's on, party food for tea, santa tracker, Christmas film, glass of wine.
Phew.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Happy Christmas Eve everyone :xmastree::xmassign:
Foodbank/charity donation - charity donation has gone out. Have added a few items into the food bank collection. Gift bought to donate to charity.
Eat well -probably give up on this until after Christmas :rotfl:
Savings/debt repayment - paid £32.52 today.
Treat yourself - painted my nails.
Invitations - had a lovely weekend away with family, carol concert was good and made me feel very Christmassy.
Very merry Christmas - all done, bought food yesterday.
Exercise - steps: fitbit ran out of battery over the weekend so totally lost count of steps, gym: 3/4, run: 0/4.
Fun - did some colouring in, watched Christmas film.
Understand what motivates you - done.
NSDs - now on 10/15.
Off work today and tomorrow. Plan for today is tidy the house and do some food prep for tomorrow then later on a g&t and nibbles while watching a Christmas film.
Mortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500 1.7.25 - £106,653.66
Mortgage overpayment savings - £33.53/£50
Mortgage overpayments so far - £612.990 -
Plan for today. Move gently, gather up categories of 'things' (have more than a dozen, not counting stff to take to mum's, which is a separate list). Some are small (2 library books to take back), some are vast (collecting up the last pots and washing up for the dishwasher - found my eyebath when doing the kitchen so want ot run one more load - and cans and bottles recycling for when the bin has been emptied and found a bin bag full ready bagged + more loose including a disgusting end of a milk bottle, vile even with the cap on).
At 3 o'clock, I stop, gather my things for mum's and leave. Once ther I have a shower, wash my hair and put clean clothes on. Make the bed I'm using (mum had taken all the sheets off but has strict instructions not to try making it up herself, she had exhausted herself yesterday) then watch daft films/ drama and chop and prepare food using a tray, sitting in an armchair with my legs up. May do some washing if it can be hidden out of sight.
I am taking the laptop but don't have much of a plan for the next few days (as little 'work' as possible - have brought my tools home so NO diy). I hope you all have a wonderful time, may those of you with children get at least a couple of hours sleep between helping Father Christmas and them waking up (if it's only ten minutes I reccomend lying full length on the couch, with a notebook and pen so you know who to thank for what gift and at 9am go back to bed and kick the co-parent downstairs to do his turn until you feel like starting cooking the meal - for added fun I suggest being pregnant and having to take frequent brakes or turning everything off mid-meal as an errant relative has taken themselves to the walk-in centre with suspected heart attack [only over indulgence]).
For anyone who's struggling, grieving, not feeling at all festive or on the verge of tears because of thoughtless, ungrateful or downright mean people - treat yourself gently, reduce your 'hosting duties' to the bare minimum, take a walk, retire to a quiet room, go in the garage and scream/ throw things, sit on the back doorstep and cry, do whatever you need to do (short of strangling someone) for you then return to the fray (if needed). Co-opt any complainers with a task and accept all useful offers of help. Don't Be A Martyr for Christmas.
I hope evrything goes well for you and you get to clebrate (or not) however you want. All 'disasters' can be coped with (the new record player that set on fire will become a family anecdote in future years), it's better to give everone cheese and biscuits rather than underdone turkey (cooking the turkey in advance relieves a lot of the stress and avoids the 6 am wrestling match with a stubbornly undefrosted beast) and Boxing Day is a doddle in comparison (the meal nearly throws itself together).
I'm taking the laptop to mum's but don't know if/when I'll be on-line so I'll wish you all the very best now.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
Merry Christmas to all of you, whatever you're doing.
I have spent all morning sitting in the house while a BeeTee engineer has gone over every inch of cabling trying to find a fault - bless him. He's the best of the 5 engineers I've seen so far. I'm hopeful but not confident that it's fixed.
Christmas is good to go - gammon is cooking so I don't have to think about it tomorrow, veggies are prepped and ready to go.
Night out tonight with my family - big Christmas Eve dinner as there are too many of us to congregate at one house. We have a private room in a pub and lots of food - it's always amazing.
Plans are lots of rest and lots of time with family. Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

Foodbank/charity donation - all donations now done.
Eat well - have been really good in the run up to Xmas, but am now going to relax and have a lovely gingerbread baileys type drink before dinner. It's SO yummy! Not going to worry about food intake over the next couple of days, what's the point?
Savings/debt repayment - done.
Treat yourself - finished work early which is always a treat. Have spent the last few days catching up on stuff I was really behind with and I'm really relieved that I don't have to stress about that over the holidays.
Invitations - all done and under budget.
Very merry Christmas - ready for the big day now.
Exercise - nothing yesterday, was absolutely knackered when I woke up in the morning so cancelled my gym plans and stayed in bed! Today did a quick workout at home just to loosen up my back.
Fun - just looking forward to watching rubbish TV and eating yummy food.
Understand what motivates you.
NSDs - Aim for 15 NSDs. Up to 13/15. Yesterday collected my food shop and also bought some vitamins I'd run out of. Today was a NSD and I'd imagine the next few days will be too.
Merry Xmas everyone, hope you all have a lovely time over the next few days.

Twas the night before Christmas...
And I'm ploughing through budgets haha! I love this time of year - out with the old and in with the new...
AppleMuncher - I was thinking how much of an impact she had on us all back then, and continues to do so, through these threads that have evolved. I think she'd be proud how you have all kept it going and helped others, by continuing her legacy... Sending NSK a big Merry Christmas hug :grouphug:wherever she is!!!... and a big thank you to all of you that have run this thread in the months and years since she left xxx
I have a new 2020 planner, budget book, work diary, and a load of new old-skool exercise books (super cheap on Amazonia for 10!) for doing my reflective journals... I shall be sitting down between Christmas and New Year and drawing up my battle plans for next year! Love love love it!!!
Wishing all of you a very Happy Christmas if you celebrate it... relax and be in the 'now' and enjoy time together with family, or the chance to recharge and unwind if you're on your own... After it passes... reflect and celebrate all of your achievements this last year, and learn from the things that maybe didn't go so well... then release it all... for next year is a clean slate for us all...:xmastree::xmastree::santa2::xmastree::xmastree:⭐ DEBT FREE : 18/02/2025 ⭐

Small spends today, an unexpected last minute Christmas eve get together with friends, DD had lots of play outside time with her friends, Santa has been tracked and it's been a good day. Wishing everyone the Christmas day they want, whatever that involves. For everyone working that all goes well, and it isn't overly stressful.0
