  • Evening everyone,
Hope everyone is enjoying the festive season in whichever way they wish to spend it :)
I had a lovely day yesterday; just me and my 2 x DDs. My DDs loved their gifts and I had some very thoughtful presents. We had a long walk; late lunch; then chilled and waited for Gavin & Stacey - lovely day and we all thought G&S was great. Today have spent an hour going down south on the motorway to meet DD2's boyfriend as she is now staying with his family till NY. DD1 and I called at the big Swedish store as I needed a picture frame for a gift I bought for my Dad - we are visiting family on Saturday. I have not wrapped up any family presents yet....
I had a NSD yesterday- only managed 4/15 this month. Have still got lots of £2 coins left (I save them for Xmas) so I shall be spending those in the shops for as long as they last....
    Take care all

Hopefully today will be NSD9. I do not need to shop, but the kids want ferrying to town, so I am driver. I have parking money left over in my purse from DSs birthday excursion.

Car insurances done, under £500 combined, and closer to £400 after cashback/cl0bcard/s&m vouchers. All paid off and nothing left on the cc.

Budget looking good for the last 5 days of the decade. I am resisting the urge to watch all the ' I bought a tiny falling down shepherd's hovel up a mountain track and turned it into a Bond baddie's lair with helipad' rebuild programmes on tv.

I have a sore throat, but everyone else seems happy, so I must be doing a good job. Finding the lack of routine quite trying. I do not relax well.

    Gratitudes -
    -everyone appears happy
-there is enough food milk in the house to do another 24 hours before I need to shop (with my £4 off voucher)
    - I have (re)started writing a daily to-do list, and things are getting done.

    -shiny blue toenails and fingernails.

foxholes I know what you mean about struggling to relax without routine. I've only had two days off work so far and I feel a bit bored when beforehand I was desperate for some time off!

Foodbank/charity donation - all donations now done.
Eat well - absolutely stuffed yesterday, and still have more food for another roast today!
    Savings/debt repayment - done.
Treat yourself - despite struggling to relax I do appreciate the time off just chilling in pyjamas and watching TV.
Invitations - all done and under budget.
Very merry Christmas - all done!
Exercise - might go to the gym or for a walk today as there's no rain forecast.
Fun - plan to meet a friend for a coffee today on her lunch break as she works locally.
    Understand what motivates you.
NSDs - Aim for 15 NSDs. Will stay on 14/15 today as planned spends with friend. Also need some allergy medication, I've no idea why but my allergies have flared up like mad over the past 24 hours! Not sure if perhaps it's something I've eaten?

I think dh bought them as a joke...to use for pegging out the washing in the summer, or on opened-but-not-used-up packets of things...

NSD 10 for me, no need to go shopping as I don't need anything. However, I have started a shopping list. It has 2 items on it, but they aren't urgent, so it can wait till I have a longer list!

I had to throw away a few small food items, which isn't good, as I really hate food waste. I have not been as on the ball as usual re getting things into the freezer. Still, better caution than anyone be ill - one of the items was some slices of terrine that had been left out of the fridge, likewise 2 sausage rolls. They seemed ok, but it wasn't worth the risk of a tummy upset. The other things were a few stale biscuits and a mouldy orange, which would be unlikely to make anybody ill, but no-one would want to eat them! At least the local birds have done well, as apart from the orange which went into the compost bin, all the rest was put out for them, and has been polished off :)

Staved off a migraine that has been hovering since Christmas Eve. Good thing too, as smallest grandson is coming to stay overnight as his Mum is away for the night and he plays his Dad up overnight (because he wants his Mum). I seem to substitute for Mum pretty well, so apart from having him cling to me like a limpet so that I can't do anything, all will be fine :rotfl:

Have been out and about today. Called into Sainsburys for some salad veg, a loaf and some other 'essentials'. DH worked this morning but was home by lunchtime. DD got some large notebooks for her revision notes in a charity shop 3 of them for £2, I got a jumper and a t shirt for DH.

DD had her £5 Body Shop gift to spend, we went into the shop but there just wasn't anything she wanted and didn't want to just get a plastic bottle for the sake of it so she is donating it to charity - I didn't even know Body Shop had this option.

  • Small spend today - had to go to Mr S because ds had run out of his favourite frozen chicken pieces, and obviously none of my mountain of leftovers would do.
Car has been in for its service and I've had another day of just sitting on my bum watching tv and crocheting.
  • We had a lovely meal last night with the boy. He loved his presents. Amazing how someone can get so animated about drinking chocolate pods for his coffee machine! We did buy him other things but that was the highlight.

So today we had to go to collect some prescriptions from the Health Centre so that gave us a little bit of exercise. Spent the afternoon watching some "old" things" on TV with a little glass of wine and some mince pies.

It's been a lovely Christmas despite all the heartache of the last few weeks.

    Onwards and upwards.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.
