"If you open more than one TSB Spend & Save account via Quidco, you will only be paid cashback on the first account you open."

Maybe you should get pre-approval from Transaction Integrity Manager first!?
  • Interesting, since none of us have applied for a TSB spend and save account before, since it's a new account, does this mean we can apply via Quidco and be eligible for cashback?

If they don't block it as Quidco lump all TSB current accounts opened through them together so if your tally goes too high they might close the account for abuse of offer.

Yes, I was thinking the same thing, Contradicts the possible reason Quidco cited for my last Classic Account opening cashback being rejected namely  "I can see that these terms were updated by the time you made the purchase on the 17th of May 2020 to state that this would only available to the first new account through Quidco. I'm afraid that as I can see that you have been with TSB before you'd be ineligible for cashback on that one"

That possible reason became doubted when declined cashback claim was initiated 23 September "We'd usually advise that terms posted on third party sites such as forums or newspaper articles we'd have no control of so always recommend referring to the terms on our site. However, I appreciate what you are saying in regards to this  and please be assured that we'll do all that we can to get a resolution for you, we'll continue to investigate the confusion with the terms too with them."

This could cause confusion. 'Cashback' here (changing from an existing TSB current account, other than from a Classic) refers to the £5 per month and not the Quidco cashback. Had to think twice after seeing it as it's not possible to change an existing account through Quidco.

    So it’s back!

Shows how hungry they still are for new customers and number of accounts opened for the stats. which some of us helped them with by opening a few accounts before incurring the attempted cash grab by TIM, what a farcical perversion of the terms and conditions they fudged accidentally on purpose to encourage stoozers to exploit the offer (because most people can’t be bothered especially for £50).

Took them until now to insert that simple line into the conditions.

On the face of it anyone could apply for one s&s current account, it being a NEW account tsb are offering, without incurring the mock wrath of Quidco transaction integrity manager regardless of whether one has opened tsb accounts through Quidco in the past.

Did you get a decision from TIM?
Quidco's compliance system will likely flag up any more TSB accounts opened if it flagged up the last one(s) as on Quidco's system it doesn't distinguish between types of TSB account - the merchant is TSB Current Account. Arguing the accounts are separate offers doesn't wash with TIM if the system blocks your Quidco account. It didn't when distinguishing Classic Plus and Classic for me

Yes after stalling and hearing nothing for about six days my account was released and I could withdraw my cashback. He acknowledged I didn’t break any of the terms but did feel I had exploited it.

So what that’s what tsb wanted.Thats why tsb paid the referral fee/cashback. I am deeply distrustfull of Quidco now but I will apply for a spend and save, no earlier than 1st October obviously! just the one as per t&c. If they don’t pay out I don’t care too much as it’s not that much time and would actually try the 30 transactions for a fiver a month for the first six months.
