(An unfortunate coincidence that my MSE name and the Bank name is the same, totally unintentional) I have been having my own battle with TSB Bank regarding this offer, as I referred my case to the Ombudsman in March. The Ombudsman found in my favour and extra compensation awarded. TSB Bank have been promising to pay the original cashback into my Quidco account since July. I have received the compensation directly from TSB Bank but not the original cashback which they insist has been authorised for Quidco to pay and blame Quidco systems for not paying it. I am now having to chase this myself with Quidco. This is still ongoing. If my memory serves me correct, TSB responded by saying they dont have access to Quidco systems to know whether you complied with T+C, Quidco responded by saying was TSB decision, stretching my memory a little further maybe Quidco offered you a tenner out of its own pocket. This is why I am issuing joint complaints, in process of putting together 2nd complaint relates to tracked transaction 17 May, rejected on 17 September, 20 May I deposited £250. + £257.00, 27th May I have 2 Supermarket debit card transactions, every month since then I have deposited minimum £500 and done minimum 2 debit card transactions at a Supermarket, plus Paperless settings as required0 -

Thank you for your views.
However, I for one prefer a more robust approach to the recent actions of Quidco and will have no hesitation in calling them out, to encourage them to do the right thing. They have accused many MSE members of "abuse" but I think that if anyone is "abusing" the terms of the TSB offer it is Quidco themselves.0 -
Quidco complaints response to first joint complaint I submitted this morning, Quidco also sent this reply to TSB email address that I used for joint complaint
I'm very sorry for the inconvenience caused by this issue, for your reference your complaints ID is .....
As you may imagine we'd need to receive the cashback from the retailer in order to pass over to you, at the moment we're yet to receive a resolution from the retailer on your purchase from the 27th of October 2019, we're chasing this for you on a regular basis however and as soon as we receive the cashback we'll pass this straight onto you.
Claims do have a few more manual checks that the relevant third parties need to do before they pass this cashback on. Most claims usually take around 6 months from the date that they are raised but this can vary dependent on the retailer and cannot be guaranteed to be paid within the 6 month time frame I'm afraid.
Please be assured that as soon as we receive any information from the retailer on this claim we'll let you know straight away.
I do apologise for the inconvenience caused in the meantime.
Kind regards

- Any other offer available with TSB current accounts, unless listed on this page
- Any other TSB discounts such as staff or student discounts

- Debit payments include online and mail order purchases, as well as in-store purchases (including contactless, Apple Pay and Google Pay), Direct Debits, Standing Orders, and Faster Payments.
- Debit payments don’t include ATM or other cash withdrawals using your card, payments made using Pay a Contact (Paym), bill payments made in a TSB branch and future dated payments.

You can tell when money is taken from your account by looking at your transactions online or on your statement.
- If you open more than one TSB Classic Plus account via Quidco, you will only be paid cashback on the first account you open.
- In order for TSB to know that you’ve taken out your product via Quidco and so that you receive your cashback, you must click the Quidco link above, and apply for and open the relevant current account
- You won’t be eligible for cashback if you click away from the Quidco website page, or visit any other websites before completing your current account application and opening your account
- You must make sure cookies are enabled before you start your application, and right through until we tell you whether your application is successful. Do not clear your cache before completing your application. Otherwise, TSB won’t be able to track the application and therefore unable to pay your cashback. For more information please see here
- Cashback will only be paid to members who have BACS as their registered Quidco payment
- All opened accounts are run through extensive validation checks and cashback will only be paid on valid opened accounts. The eligibility is checked 120 days after the account is opened
- If you close your account within 90 days of opening you won’t get cashback either
- Cashback will be paid into your Quidco Account, within 180 days of your TSB current account being opened.
Quidco response to declined transaction 17 May complaint, has anyone else who previously had Quidco/TSB paid had transactions around that date either paid or still pending, I pretty sure Classic account was available until 20 May no limit was stated until around 8th June"Looking at the screenshot provided, I can see that this showed a copy of terms the Moneysavingexpert user posted on the 17th November 2019. I can see that these terms were updated by the time you made the purchase on the 17th of May 2020 to state that this would only available to the first new account through Quidco. I'm afraid that as I can see that you have been with TSB before you'd be ineligible for cashback on that one. "`Update on my first complaint, non tracking transaction 27 October, claim submitted 12 December, TSB phoned this morning they are going to speak to appropriate department and get back to me ASAP0 -

I tend to agree, but cannot provide proof for it, that the terms were not updated until early June.1 -

So basically they are wrong. It wasn’t possible to open a Classic account under the new conditions.1 -

I'm afraid that this is likely to have been declined for this reason but cashback can also be declined for a number of reasons. You can see some of the main reasons that cashback can be declined below:
Standard Cashback ExclusionsLearn what could affect any purchase you make with usAs you may appreciate, we do need to receive the cashback from the retailer to be able to pass over to you and on this occasion they've confirmed that they won't be passing the cashback on for this.
Unfortunately, we're never able to guarantee cashback for this reason as per our account holder agreement, I'm very sorry for any disappointment this may cause.

My Latest ResponseCan Quidco and/Or TSB please inform me of the actual reason why TSB Classic Account ( Now known as Spend and Save Account opened on 17 May 2020 when there was no apparent limit as to number of TSB Classic Account ( Now known as Spend and Save Account(s) that could be opened for cashback via Quidco was declined being as I have proved by transaction screenshots I fully met cashback conditions. Can Quidco/TSB also please inform me as to whether declined cashback is TSB final decision

I think you would have to complain to tsb directly after you get another fob off from Quidco because as they say if the merchant doesn’t pay them the cashback they can’t pay it out. Although they claim to chase up missing cashback but I suppose they’ve done that.
Would a complaint to tsb bring you under the financial ombudsman scheme if tsb don’t play ball with your initial complaint?1 -

Would a complaint to tsb bring you under the financial ombudsman scheme if tsb don’t play ball with your initial complaint? It is a joint complaint both mine and Quidco responses are automatically sent to TSB, both TSB and Quidco come under FOS https://support.quidco.com/en/articles/4126637-what-is-your-complaints-policy TSB this morning said it will look into first complaint as matter of urgency which relates to first account opened via Quidco on 27th October, Non tracking claim submitted 12 December with no apparent updates since then despite Quidco doing its apparent best, this second complaint TSB said I should follow Quidco procedure of raising declined cashback claimQuidco latest responseI'm afraid that we have not been informed of the exact decline reason from TSB at the moment for this one. You can see potential decline reasons within the standard cashback exclusions mentioned previously and within the terms listed on the 'What will stop me earning cashback' on the TSB Quidco page. Please be aware that this transaction was completed on the 17th of May 2020 so I'm afraid that the screenshot from November last year would not be sufficient to support the claim.
I can try to get a claim raised to have a look further for you, please could I just double check the last 4 digits of the account number and the sort code to allow us to raise this for you.
Kind regards,
