  • The screenshot from November last year was terms still prevailing, unchanged on May 17th 2020 so why doesn’t it count!?

Just waiting to see if anymore useful input is posted particularly as to whether anyone else opened TSB Classic account later in May albeit before 20th May before I reply to Quidcos latest response, hopefully TSB will respond to claim against decline within 8 weeks.
TSB Bank Account/Quidco only seems to currently show when click search link https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-d&q=quidco+tsb, not even listed within Bank Accounts.  https://www.quidco.com/bank-accounts/

Looks Quidco pulled it, at least temporarily.

This offer goes from bad to worse. It reflects really badly on both, Quidco and TSB.
  • The offer was still there yesterday, I checked because I wondered if they would include the spend and save account, it was not but the classic plus was still there but last week it said expires in three days which was Sunday.

    NEW T&Cs:
    • Cashback is only available if you open a new TSB Classic Plus current account and:-
      1. within the first 90 days of your account being open you register for Internet Banking, paperless statements and paperless correspondence;

      2. keep your account open for at least 120 days;

      3. In three out of the first four calendar months after you’ve opened your account:-

      (a) pay in at least £500 each month; and

      (b) make at least two debit payments out of your account each month.

As an example, if you opened your account in June, you would have to pay in £500 and make two payments out of your account in three of the following months;  June, July, August and/or September.
    • Cashback cannot be used with:
    1. Any other offer available with TSB current accounts, unless listed on this page
    2. Any other TSB discounts such as staff or student discounts
    3. Any other offer, voucher or discount code unless listed on this page
    • Debit payments include online and mail order purchases, as well as in-store purchases (including contactless, Apple Pay and Google Pay), Direct Debits, Standing Orders, and Faster Payments.
    • Debit payments don’t include ATM or other cash withdrawals using your card, payments made using Pay a Contact (Paym), bill payments made in a TSB branch and future dated payments.
    • Timing of debit payments: We’ll count any debit payments you make based on the date the money is taken from your account.  This is usually within 5 working days from the day you make the payment, but can sometimes be longer. You can tell when money is taken from your account by looking at your transactions online or on your statement.
    • If you open more than one TSB Classic Plus account via Quidco, you will only be paid cashback on the first account you open.
    • In order for TSB to know that you’ve taken out your product via Quidco and so that you receive your cashback, you must click the Quidco link above, and apply for and open the relevant current account
    • You won’t be eligible for cashback if you click away from the Quidco website page, or visit any other websites before completing your current account application and opening your account
    • You must make sure cookies are enabled before you start your application, and right through until we tell you whether your application is successful. Do not clear your cache before completing your application. Otherwise, TSB won’t be able to track the application and therefore unable to pay your cashback. For more information please see here
    • Cashback will only be paid to members who have BACS as their registered Quidco payment
    • All opened accounts are run through extensive validation checks and cashback will only be paid on valid opened accounts. The eligibility is checked 120 days after the account is opened
    • If you close your account within 90 days of opening you won’t get cashback either
    • Cashback will be paid into your Quidco Account, within 180 days of your TSB current account being opened.

Quidco response to declined transaction 17 May complaint, has anyone else who previously had Quidco/TSB paid had transactions around that date either paid or still pending, I pretty sure Classic account was available until 20 May no limit was stated until around 8th June

"Looking at the screenshot provided, I can see that this showed a copy of terms the Moneysavingexpert user posted on the 17th November 2019. I can see that these terms were updated by the time you made the purchase on the 17th of May 2020 to state that this would only available to the first new account through Quidco. I'm afraid that as I can see that you have been with TSB before you'd be ineligible for cashback on that one. "
    `
Update on my first complaint, non tracking transaction 27 October, claim submitted 12 December, TSB phoned this morning they are going to speak to appropriate department and get back to me ASAP
Sorry, got nothing close to May 17 myself. My last paid one was opened May 1, and I am waiting for payment for one opened May 3.

I tend to agree, but cannot provide proof for it, that the terms were not updated until early June.
I reckon that tsb drafted the new terms in May but didn’t publicise/apply them until early June but on their ‘records’ it looks like they were in place early May. Which is doubly wrong because the new terms only applied to the Classic Plus account which you didn’t open and don’t mention the Classic account because it was pulled in June so even if those new terms were in place they couldn’t apply to the Classic account because it wasn’t included!
The Spend and Save account terms were written 23 June but not published until months later, it’s only when they are released in the public domain that they apply (supposing there were earlier terms for the spend and save which of course there weren’t).
  • The screenshot from November last year was terms still prevailing, unchanged on May 17th 2020 so why doesn’t it count!?

Thanks for your input this is my follow up response - I did mention to TSB yesterday unresolved claim from late last year in respect of first TSB Classic Account opened via Quidco affects others as well. :/

"Yes let us give TSB opportunity  to either resolve this complaint via claim against cashback rejection by either giving a valid, factual. truthful reason for decline  or pay promoted advertised £50 Cashback in respect of apparent valid tracked transaction  Classic Account now known as Spend and Save Account opened  17 May 2020

Screenshot 30  - Cashback Terms And Conditions dated 17th November 2019,  terms still prevailing, unchanged on May 17th 2020, only listing updates that changed during the period in-between those dates was when Cashback rate changed from £50 to £65 and visa versa and maybe (not) another rate in between

Screenshots 31-34 inclusive showing transactions that I made from 20 May 2020- Current Month namely minimum £500 deposited per month+ minimum 2 debit card transactions per month , paperless settings were also set as required

Possible that TSB drafted the new terms in May but didn’t publicise/apply them until early June but on their ‘records’ it looks like they were in place early May. Which is doubly wrong because the new terms only applied to the Classic Plus account which I didn’t open on 17 May and This Is Money article doesnt mention the Classic account because it was made defunct to new account openings on/around 20 May.

Being as this is money.co.uk has been referred to I am also forwarding this response to them by email  editor@thisismoney.co.uk,
"In a blow for those who opened multiple accounts with TSB to claim the cashback bonus multiple times, which was within the rules, the bank has now limited it to just one £50 award per person"
"but the new terms state: 'If you open more than one TSB Classic Plus account via Quidco, you will only be paid cashback on the first account you open"

"This is Money has asked TSB whether the new terms apply only to accounts opened after they were clarified on 8 June, or also apply to accounts opened under the old rules. It said any accounts open now will be judged on the new terms"

If TSB are reading thiis - re My first TSB Classic account  opened on 27 October 2019 via Quidco, non tracking claim lodged 11 December with no apparent status updates since, I am certain that the only type of cookies FSO is interested in is Chocolate Chip type cookies :)
  • First DM story 25 May.
Second DM story 11 June stating Quidco implemented the changes on Monday which was 8th June.
IIRC 8th June was also when tsb/Quidco pulled the Classic account as an offer and as an account that tsb  offer. Leaving just the open one account Classic Plus which was a condition in place by tsb themselves for years, one sole one joint max.

And they are removing interest from the account for existing customers in Dec, see: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6193662/tsb-classic-plus-and-classic-enhance-interest-rates-reduction-to-0#latest
