Didn't sleep too good as I finally managed to wake up when it was time to go to bed. OH is on earlies this week too (he always seems to be on earlies) so that's 4am wake ups 🙈 what I did discover last night is my cat does come to bed during the night and then goes before we get up 😁

It looks to be a gorgeous day, it's very warm already with a lovely blue sky.

I'm going to try and finish the bit of sanding lunchtime. It looks so much better sanded, you know like an old neglected bit of furniture? I rather like it.
I may see what nicer doors are around when that unit gets converted to a floor to ceiling bookcase. We are keeping the two other units as they have been well made.

I absolutely adore the chimney breast unit in the bedroom. That's like a dressing table as there's space underneath, then a shelf with a mirror fitted to the wall, above that is a cupboard with louvre doors.

You can probably tell I do adore my home! Its not just because it's mine (ours), but the whole package and the private garden is the icing on the cake. Once I get seating outside it's going to be perfect.
Next year is going to be wonderful, sitting outside, reading, pottering around although I am contemplating some sort of sunshade as I will continue to burn if it do any long stint out there. A gazebo would be fantastic, but might put too much of a shadow on the herbs. I will look into it though as that would look good, solve my burn issues and turn it back into a secret garden.

Had a brief look into remortgages this morning, my own bank want 20% equity, so that will fall in line with when I hope to change to a mainstream lender.

Not much planned for this week and I'm looking forward to payday so I can put some more money away.

What I have decided is to keep my commute costs in my normal account, each week I e not gone in move a portion to savings. I'm not expecting to got back into the office for a while, but I do feel uneasy due to the things that are going on.

Must register with the new GP this week. Will ask OH to take me up as I can't currently walk to where they are.

Hope you have a good day!

Lots of plans and progress being made. I'm sure your room will be much brighter when you/OH finish painting the cupboards.

    That you SW and SH.

My greenhouse took off and ended up in a neighbours garden, sadly my tomatoes have got broken and my peppers battered.

Will be finishing the unit this week and going through some of my books with a view to putting them in the charity pile / adding to local selling groups.

The thing at work is escalating, so I'm now logging everything. I don't honestly get why this person is doing what they are doing aside from being petty. I've started having panic / anxiety attacks.

My OH has already told me about a few jobs being advertised, I will get my CV updated the weekend and see what's about. The good thing is I don't need the wages I'm on now. Hopefully I can find a better role before my confidence drops further.

I have registered with my new GP, so will try and get some form of appointment as the lump hasn't gone from my finger. I've provided my repeat prescription slip and apparently it's taking a while to get medical records transferred, but they can get a summary from my old GP.

£15 in the bank, 3 days til payday.

Had Chinese dumplings and chocolate for pudding 🤫

  • Sad to hear about the greenhouse and tomato plants MF ☹️ Also sorry to hear about the work situation. Why is it that some people take out their own inadequacies on others. Is there a union rep that can help ? If not I hope you find something better soon where you are properly appreciated!

Sorry things aren't going to plan. Perhaps find something to weight down the unit. We had to put a compost bag on top of a tin shed we are in the process of putting up - as we haven't been able to buy concrete or sand yet (delivered)

Sorry to hear that things are going a bit c*@p at the moment.  I agree with SYA though, that the person at work is probably has self esteem issues. Not that that is much consolation to you, but try not to allow their problems to affect  how you feel about yourself (((hugs)))
Bummer about the greenhouse and your plants.  Hope you can manage to get it put up again ( and well weighted down!)  You may be able to  buy some tomato and pepper plants if yours can't be rescued.
Chin up girl... you'll get there in the end.  XXX

    Thank you everyone.

I'm going to be saving as much money as I can just in case I find myself unemployed. I will be looking for roles in the county I now live in, with the option of the city I used to.  I had hoped to stay in my job for a few years, to build up savings and get me through a remortgage, but will have to see. My health has to come first as the stress will have permanent consequences.

It's true what they say, it's never the job people leave, but because of others.

There is a union rep, but that person is also employed by the company, I wouldn't feel comfortable speaking with them as I have no faith they can / will help.
It is totally this person is inadequate and doesn't have the skill set to undertake the position they are trying to do. I've also been told they have pushed people out before; I will be at least the fifth one who goes.
There is also an in-house department that deal with these things too. But having already had dealings with them about something else, I know they are as much use as a chocolate teapot!

The greenhouse was weighted down, bricks everywhere, but had no chance with the winds up here. Will have to think of a better idea for it next year. My toms are about half the size they were, some flowers are still around and I know they handle shocks quite well.

    Have a good day 🌞

It's horrible when this happens at work unfortunately we have all been there. The trouble maker causes stress and good people leave and the people who are supposed to help keep away. You often find people are afraid of taking the bully on but inside the bully is a coward or just very thick. If you enjoy the work stay keep a diary and see if anyone else in your office will back you. In the meantime remember they have no life which is why they try to cause difficulties for others I bet they have no friends. Focus on your lovely house and remember it is them not you. Karma will take care of them. Go to a dr please as the extra stress is not good for you.
So sorry about the green house. I hope you can salvage something I bet the flowers and tomatoes will be fine (remember I killed mine!!!)  and keep up all your good work. You inspire us everyday.

Thank you SW, I dislike finding myself in this situation and do tend to get out pretty quick. It is known this person does what it does, but nothing is ever done off the back of it and so they leave. I like about 5% of my job and even that's getting impacted due to this person. I've others in the same situation, who are also keeping logs.

I don't want anyone to think I'm a flake, I'm not. I keep going for as long as my body let's me hence changing careers for something a lot less stressful, but this role clearly isn't what I signed up for and I knew that within the first week. I got my home out of it which is what I wanted and it was never a job until retirement, at best it was for 3 years. Now I need to cling on a bit longer to get more savings together and find a better role. I could try to stay with the company, but the roles advertised are not what I'm after and I also don't think I want to; I don't like this type of business. Three times I've worked PT, once I also had a FT job with it, I enjoyed it, so I'm open to that if I can get the right hours or the right hourly rate and I know realistically that's what I should be aiming for.

I've found a few CVs from when I was last looking, I honestly thought I had started to update it for this role but will have to keep looking around my phone and get my PC set up in case I've saved it somewhere else. I also know I can take a pay cut, still be comfortable, save and have the life I've got now. My mortgage is fixed for 5 years, so worst case is I don't remortgage sooner as I planned to.

I'm giving my new Dr a few days to get some sort of file set up for me and attempt to request my old records. Whilst I could technically contact my old one, I will get signed off straight away, that's what they do because of how my health is let alone having everything else going on.

The garden is fine, OH put it back together for me, just a bit sad seeing the state of my veg. Hopefully I will get a proper greenhouse at some point. I will be in it after work, pottering around.

For now my plans remain the same as they did when I last set them out, but with the option of tweaking them if my circumstances change.

It will all work itself out in the end 😁
