I probably do, but I would prefer my own so I don't have to rush to do the whole flat and return them. I've a coal shed I can keep them in, as that's where all the garden tools go 🤗 we have enough to keep us going for years 😂Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.3

It's great as you can see the results every time you do something and your OH is going to be doing so much saving a fortune! I hope you can get some ladders for a good price. Wonderful.Aiming for a minimal spend 20223

He will definitely save us money and has found loads of videos for ideas, he measures various things, draws designs and keeps himself out of trouble 🤭
I can buy the ladders for free because of all my survey points, only £20 from 4g0s and I get n3ctar points too 😁Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.3 -
Got up at 2am and 30 minutes later someone was cycling through the village, singing at the top of their voice.
Today I've 95% sanded down the one test unit in the lounge. Bit more to do tomorrow and then I will be happy to start painting it.
At some point I will paint the whole flat as the ceilings have a few age cracks and it would be nice to hide them until enough money has been saved to have them replaced and the walls replastered.
I'm guessing aside from more paint or varnish on top, its over 40 years ago anything was done (aside from the kitchen / boiler / floor covering) based on the wallpaper and ceiling design but feels so homely and comfortable. There are also sneak previews of what used to be here due to the old wallpaper and paint at the back of cupboards.
One thing I am looking forward to doing is removing a board in the chimney breast and seeing if there is anything behind it or if it's just an empty hole. We are going to have a real fire put in, but again need to save.
Hopefully, anything we do will be sympathetic to the age and remaining original features.
I'm really getting into the history of this property and the area, so many bits of old crockery have been found in the garden along with some very interesting metal objects. I've been as to trace this building back over 100 years, can't wait til the local museum opens to see what insights that has and will keep researching the village. There were a few key buildings / businesses that were around at the time, which has made it a lot easier to discover as much about my home as I have.
Have a good weekend!

How fascinating that you can find all this out about your house. It sounds like a real labour of love. I hope you are enjoying the weekend too.Aiming for a minimal spend 20222

@savingwannabe I'm lucky that there are some old B&W photos of some former places (the grounds / water I can see from my flat) and due to their location can see my flat and how the gardens used to look, plus the surrounding area. So far the monster trees were not around in the 50's and the neighbour garden behind mind had greenhouse, polytunnel etc 🤭
Part of me feels like digging over the rest of the growing garden, just so I can make sure I've got all the history up before more compost is added to it, part of me thinks that's selfish and I should leave it for future generations. It's a tough decision as opportunities don't pop up like this for many people.
I've been out in the garden and moved a few things about. The path in front of the secret garden how houses my spuds, carrots, runner beans and I've space for a few more tubs.
I'm not sure what OH is cooking for tea, but it smells good, pudding is a bakewell, tonight's drink of choice is a beer free shandy 🤫Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.4 -

Today I got up at a normalish time, OH went to work, I contemplated finishing the sanding but decided to have spicy noodles for lunch then a nap. I slept for 6 hours 🙈 I could have happily stayed in bed til tomorrow as I'm still tired now.
The sun is streaming in through the windows and layer I will water the garden.
Tea I'm cooking fish fingers, pie and chips as OH is very hungry today (he can eat what he likes and doesn't gain weight!).Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.2 -
You have been doing so much and not sleeping so it’s not surprising you have needed to rest and catch up on some sleep. Hopefully you will get a good nights sleep tonight and feel better tomorrow. 😊0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗
