Thank you SW, OHs birthday isn't for a few months, but when I spotted what I did I wasn't sure how long it would take to be done. As it was the woman did it in a day and it's phenomenal. I think she is selling too cheap as she only charged me £10, normally her prices are £15+ .
My money took a bit of a battering after moving in due to needing the tree surgeon, getting a lot of things for the garden etc, now that's done I'm getting into the swing of being a homeowner and saving as appropriate:
Communal Repairs (1.49%) £350
EF (1%) £427.88
Home Repairs (2%) £67
Garden, Home, Upgrades (1%) £56.50Car, Home Insurance (0.10%) £310
Spare (0.01%) £41.67
CR is a regular saver, so maximum amount I can pay in each month. I'm taking the 'hit' on missing some interest now to try and get the maximum in from next month.
It seems the neighbours just do bits to the communal area themselves, as I had planned, but I'm so aware the windows will need to be replaced at some point and the roof won't last forever.
EF I'm going to keep growing as I would like 6 months of mortgage payments in the account.
HR will keep rising a bit each month, sadly there is a cap on the amount I can have in it for this interest rate else I would be putting everything into it! Another current account, which is useful for paying trades or buying parts from the shop.
The GHU account has savings pots within the account, which makes it easier to see how much I have for each pot. The good thing with this account is I can have unlimited pots.
C, HI is for everything related to the car and the home insurance. Need to check when the MOT is due and ask friends over this side who they recommend for a garage. I could do with putting this in a better account, but it's a current account and having a debit card is very handy for paying repair bills or buying insurance.
Spare is good to keep as a float, like an informal EF.
I'm getting through the rest of this year, then will start a dedicated pot for ERCs for when I remortgage. Briefly looking into remortgages I need 20% equity with my own bank; I'm using them as a guide for when I can remortgage and hopefully everything will have settled by then.Plus I've my pension cash savings.
The PBs will be going as it will take years for me to get near holding enough to 'win' £25 and I'm missing out on guaranteed interest in the interim.
I'm looking forward to the 1st, so I can move more money into savings!
The weather is very muggy here and quite draining.
I really need to get that test unit finished this weekend 🙈Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.3 -

Thank you SH and SW.
I'm just feeling a little 'flat' because of what's going on at work.
Isn't it so funny that old homes have a reputation for being cold, mine is the polar opposite. I have the sun beating down and in to the flat and garden, which is great on the one hand but gets a bit much. I love warmth, but can only cope with so much.
I'm still at the sanding stage with the lounge unit, having to do the last bit by hand. It's the typical panel door so has some awkward bits. I will get it finished. I'm having to take it slowly due to pain levels.
Been pottering around the garden, tending to the veg and the herb garden has established itself. I picked some radishes yesterday and they were delicious. I've 3 of my spuds sprouting, just have to wait for the other 2 bags to catch up. No sign of the carrots and parsnip sprouting just yet, but they will pop out.
OH weighted the greenhouse down for me and we are looking into getting a proper one, slightly bigger as we both have big ideas for next year.
My phone bill and DD for my S&S ISA came out today. In a few days I can move some money to savings and see how much I can get together in July.
Have a good day everyone!Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.4 -
I'm not surprised you are not feeling yourself. It is so unsettling I would be in bed hysterical and you are redecorating your kitchen like it's no big deal. OMG. Well done on your radishes hopefully the others will pop up soon. I haven't planted anything but tomatoes. I hope you can get a greenhouse imagine what you will grow then!Aiming for a minimal spend 20221

Thank you SW and SH
It's constant chipping away, condescending and patronising; it's done in front of people which is downright unprofessional. I'm also being backed into a corner about my health, which is against policy, but nothing unusual with this person.
I would like some proper time off, but I'm now 'even' with my holiday so don't want to book it off until I've 'earned' it, just in case I do manage to jump ship in a few months as it would irk me having to pay holiday back.
Drives me bonkers, my get up and go, got up and left months ago. It's affecting my MH, which then has a knock-on effect with my physical health.
My greenhouse took a right battering today, if it lasts until all my veg are out I will have got lucky. It's split in several places, poles have bent and the connectors are fracturing. I've had to strap some of the sections together, added more bricks / slabs to it and moved the veg further in so it doesn't get damaged more than it all has so far. I could have cried!
Catch 22 as I had to open the garden up to make it viable to grow in, now it's got no protection from the wind. At least a proper greenhouse can get fixed down and isn't so flimsy. Will get that sorted out for next year 🤗
I can pick radishes every other day the way they are fattening up! Spuds are sprouting, runner beans are so close to grabbing the cane and the herbs are getting used in cooking.
I must plant my nectarine seeds this week and see if I've got anything else to plant, that always cheers me up!
Everything will work itself out 🤫Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.3 -
Nothing much exciting going on today.
I'm trying to upgrade my wages account to one where I get money for having DDs coming out etc. If that gets approved I will make £3 a month for doing what I do anyway.
Got over £106 in survey pounds and £75 supermarket pounds, plus my other loyalty points. Will try and have another survey purge tomorrow, OH has signed up to one which gets mentioned on here a lot.
OH has been watching a load of videos on shaving, razors, shaving soap, hot flanels etc and putting into practice what he has picked up, needless to say my legs got donated for practice too and I'm hoping I can get him to do them everytime 😂😂😂
I'm hoping to do my nails after work tomorrow as I've not done them since getting stuck into gardening, barely worn my engagement ring since moving as it's not the sort you can wear when doing the garden or DIY.
Ordered a shower rack thing and some handmade soaps, they should arrive by the weekend.
Can move money in to savings tomorrow, then more on Friday (my unspent pro rata commute cost for this week).
Sweet dreams everyone!Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.4 -
