Been relaxing this evening, watered the garden and checked on everything; have to do some weeding the weekend.
I'm watching the sky change colour and taking loads of photos to add to my collection.

Moved a bit of money to savings and had spicy noodles for tea.

    Hello MF
I have been reading all of your old and new thread this morning, in lieu of cleaning, did I mention I clean a lot? :)
I am well impressed at what you have achieved, getting rid of debt, saving your home deposit & costs, moving, and getting organised in your new home. It feels very encouraging to me to know what you've gone through, coped with, survived, and now I feel you are not just surviving, you are thriving.

You are 'planted' in a good spot, and I expect to see a lot more 'growth' in terms of your savings, pension, future, well, every aspect really...(apologies for the gardening puns!)  Bluddy well done, I wish I had even half your determination, and I am so chuffed you have your own place and more importantly space & financial stability. You deserve it! o:) Enjoy life, you never know what's around the corner....

Thank you for stopping by IA, welcome to my world 😁
I was very determined after starting over to clear my head and debt, plus save as much and as quick as I could. Loving all the gardening puns 🤗

My new watering can arrived today and I thoroughly enjoyed testing it, the veg probably appreciated getting a good amount of water. Although it's been raining quite a bit recently, the soil is so undernourished / dry because of the trees. Hopefully a few weeks of good watering each day will change it.

Topped up the rose garden with more compost as it had settled by a bricks worth.
Tied up the runner beans a bit more. Spuds have taken off and the tomatoes can been seen without squinting. The salad bar looks great and I should be able to try the lettuce and beetroot soon.

Finally got round to planting my nectarine seeds, just the cherry and apple (crab and proper size) to do next. At some point the melon will ripen and I will try growing the seeds from that. I've earmarked the celery base to grow that too 😂

Need to do some weeding and get first coat of paint on the test unit this week.

Had pork chops, veg and herbs from the garden, yoghurt and apple for pudding.

I am so impressed by your gardening skills. From now on rather than meeting friends for coffee etc I am going to spend more time in my garden. This will alleviate stress and save money at the same time. The food sounds lovely.

I see you have to wear a face covering / mask in all shops in Scotland too.  Eek to colouring eyelashes 👁 👁

I think we all have to find something to look forward to, nice eyebrows/lashes for you MF, a decent haircut is what I'd like, plus gardening, especially as the news is a scary thing to see.

I'm not that good at looking after myself, or doing beauty things, but do like a good haircut. Think I heard that England is going towards face masks in shops now? On the plus side, no-one can see my tired, sallow skin and chapped lips so much...! On the downside, they can still see the massive bags under my eyes/black circles. Guess it means I will only need to put make-up on the top half of my face.... B)

I've stopped wearing make up since lockdown. I was seriously such a drag queen before!!!! I am desperate for my hair to be cut as the bob is now a bit of a Rick Parfitt elastic band job. I hope you are all well and the weather is great for the garden.

Thank you SKA, IA and SW
Wasn't feeling too well (IBS) since last posting, so thought I would keep quiet 😁

Found out after I went to the chemist for my meds that face coverings were required, was deeply embarrassed when OH told me after the event; I thought it was Sunday it came in 🙈

I'm not one to spend ages on myself, it's a case of get ready and go.
For a few months I've plait my hair after washing it, taking it down to wash before plaited again. Left it down last night and it looks nice and wavy, would look good if I did the plaits properly to get a consistent wave from root to tips.
I rarely wear makeup, having eyebrows and eyelashes dyed means all I need is a bit of lip gloss when I can be bothered, don't wear makeup on a daily basis and haven't done since I was old enough to enter pubs and clubs 😂
The prices up here for having eyebrows etc done are just rediculous!
I was paying £12 or £15 for everything before I moved, in a salon. It was like a conveyor belt, but the girls were quick, got it right first time, had time to chat and remembered every customer.
I used to have my eyebrows threaded every 2 weeks and eyelashes etc dyed every month or two.
I can't justify nearly £50 for the whole lot up here 😳

Maybe I've swung too far the other way with not spending? Doesn't help that each time I've used different places I've never been 100% happy with what they did.
Perhaps I'm not far enough away from the fear of getting into debt again or maybe I'm just enjoying saving and having money in the bank.
I know my OH wouldn't mind me spending it and activity encourages me to spend things on myself!
