It is great that you have done the work on work on units. I cant believe the prices of visiting a salon now I just do it all myself. It is great you had good weather today it was bright here and there was a breeze.

Glad the units are blending in! 4 coats! Never done that many.
Having a potting table in the garden and using that to plant stuff up will definitely help. It works for me.

I couldn't believe the prices either SW!

    I should probably confess SH:
I'm using trade white emulsion, not wood paint, and putting careful thin layers on so it soaks in and builds up. The unit is getting taken out at some point, as is the one next to it, so that will also get done in emulsion.
I will be buying wood paint for everything that's staying in the flat, but trying to keep costs down for as long as possible at the moment.
I've got two of the big tubs of paint to get through, which is more than enough for the temporary paint jobs and repainting all the walls.

I'm (we) are repurposing everything possible in the flat and garden.

Had OHs cousin / OH visit lunchtime, I met their new 'puppy'.  Seen so many photos and videos of her, so adorable in real life. Said they can come visit again, if they bring puppy!

Met the upstairs neighbour this week, OH is going to tidy his garden up in return for the 'waste' and the next building neighbour garden for their 'waste' too. Going to need that second compost bin!

Moved £5 to savings today as I'm not back in the office this month. Savings pots are on track for this year.

Had kebab for tea as I sent OH for a nap this afternoon, I had a rest after work.

Glad the garden and other plans are still going well. My DD is cooking us meatballs and pasta for tea - result!

That is a good result SH!

I put another coat of paint on the unit, slapped a thick layer on one part of it, wasn't any difference so I've done as much as possible with the emulsion. Put the chrome handles on and it looks fantastic 🤗
Can make a start on the next one the weekend.

I've started eyeing up the communal halls areas to make them look a bit nicer and currently plotting how to do it and if I could do it while we still have the good weather, or leave it until next year.

My second sunflower has snapped, so that's gone in the compost bin with the other one. Garden is too open to try and grow them and I know how upset I used to get as a kid.

Tried my other handmade soap today, much better than the first one.

Had pork chop and spuds for tea, followed by carrot cake.

Really well done on the units. You are so creative, sorry about the sunflower. With my track record I daren't risk them! OH's cousin's puppy sounds great! so cheerful and unconditional love.

I did well to get the one to over 5ft, considering the garden is open / exposed 🤭
I'm very proud of the unit and looking forward to getting the other two done.

Nipped to a garage to get a quote to repair my car (brakes, wheel bearing, oil change and two tyres). That's going to cost me £500 next week.
Once that's done I can get the mirror sorted out and hopefully have no other expenses for it this year aside from tax and MOT.

I'm about £160 short in my car budget but will put it on my CC, pay off the bulk this month and the remainder next. My statement is due tomorrow so that's quite good timing and won't show as being due for payment until the next one 😁

I only buy cheap cars, keep them going for as long as I can, then usually scrap them. Repeating the process with the next one. This is the only car I've had repeated repair bills with, but it's a fun car 🤗

OH hired a strimmer today and has been outside trying to tame four gardens (three neighbours and the next door building neighbour) and the communal part. We are having the waste for the compost bin.
(Edit - needs something better to tame parts of it, so hasn't been able to do it all)

Moved £5 to savings, 20 in the bank, 11 days til payday.

Had chicken, veg and herb soup for lunch. Haven't a clue what's for tea.

So far no plans for the weekend!

Car repairs are a lot! Yikes. Well done on  having the money for those. I have the same as you in the bank! Roll on payday.

SW, I do run my budget very tight and close to the bone after payday!

I've put the wheel bearing off all this year, due to saving, OH only said about the brakes yesterday (I've only driven once before today since moving, he uses it for work several times a week) and driving it today was like 'what the heck'. OH doesn't know about cars and didn't even notice the tyres (not illegal yet) even though he put air in them this week, so I need to check everything and have had the talk!

As always I forgot to add things in my other post.
Had a refund for the old internet, waiting on a refund for the old flat electric (how could we be over £60 in credit with a pre-pay meter, so that was clearly not at a zero debt setting when we moved into the rental), already had the old gas refund. No further news on the rental deposit, but I think it will be in the hands of the deposit company to decide who is telling the truth.

No news on getting the gas account set up here yet. Trying to get the meter point company and gas company to talk to each other is getting silly. Money is being earmarked for when they get their act together.

    Having kebab tonight.
