    Hello MF
Sorry you haven't been feeling 100%; you have to have time out (trust me on this!) and rest up too. I am so similar with make-up, never use it unless going on a night out, which may be next year at this rate, and I don't know how old my make-up is. The mascara has now dried up, so, I am not taking that as a good sign.... :#

I used to go for all the hair-removing stuff, cream, wax (ouch!), pluck (double ouch), as I always felt like I was hairier than a badger, and it wasn't enhancing my feminine mystique, but, I seem to be at the age now where:
    a) I couldn't care less, no-one but me sees it.
    b) I seem to be going bald in places I used to shave - must be an age thing.
    c) What isn't going bald is going white, not in an elegant, salt n' pepper style either.... stopped dying it now as it is more white than dark!

Then there was all that faff with moisturiser, foundation (for that classic 'the tide's gone out' look on your neck), blusher, eye-make up, liner, lip liner, lipstick. Sheesh - how did I find the time? I slap on some moisturiser with sun protection, anti-bug spray for dog walking, and if I am really pushing the boat out, a bit of natural tone lippy... I may have let things slide a little since lock-down.... B) . So, you are not alone!

I get away with it by saying I am an all-natural, reduced chemical, save the environment vegan, so can't possibly justify dying my hair! However, I need to find the balance myself between looking as rough as a badger 'dragged through a hedge backwards', and my own ideal of classically and comfortably elegant. Total fail on that last one. You can't look elegant bending over your dog's poop wearing trainers, joggers that should have been washed last week, scruffy 'save it for the dog walk' coat and hair that's been cut by yours truly.... Sigh....

Haha, Irene I ended up binning a load of stuff the other day as it had dried up. I've hair removal cream, but it's just not as tidy as threading / waxing. It's hard being female at times. At least you can bend over, I've half killed myself planting fruit tree seeds today and have to go back out for radishes later.

Ha, don't overdo it! When I say bend, I really mean an awkward semi-squat where I wonder if anyone hear's me groan as  I stagger back up....

I saw a program about make-up having all sorts of nasties lurking on it if it's too old and that it should be stored in your fridge, and even then binned after 12 months. They even did swab tests and grew all sorts of interesting bacteria in a lab from it... Now I know why my eye make-up made my eyes sore! I thought it was just a hangover the fog of cigarette smoke, or being in a hot, sweaty club/pub (not been in one for a long time now!). I remember my own mum using hers for years too.

Funny story, once, my sibling thought they'd pinched a bit of my moisturiser to put on their face before going out, only to their horror to realise it was hair-removing cream, cue much screaming hysterics and swollen red blotchy face! I mean, it wasn't like it said moisturiser on it!! B)

I think raised beds will have to be your friends from now on.... take care of yourself, you're the only one of you that you have (no spare parts...)
     :D

Hope you are feeling better MF and not suffering today after all the bending and digging in your garden.

My back got so bad I had all my borders covered in weed free membrane (cheapest was toolstation) and purple stone. Saved a fortune getting that from B& M. Just a few darn weeds come up at the edge of the patio &in the gaps! Boiling water kills most of them.

Ouch to £50 for eyebrows & eyelashes. I suppose it depends what you are comfortable spending & how much better it makes you feel. I’m another one for just moisturiser these days (Nivea hand & face cream costs £1 a tube at B& M or £ shop.) I’ve often wondered about having my eyebrows tinted. They are thin & straggly and benefit from a bit of eyebrow pencil now & again. But I am so glad to have had my hair cut & coloured. Worth every penny of £45 to me 😊

Reading the last few posts makes me think you two should apply for a career in writing. So funny and useful too you have made me smile. Rest yourself a bit today as you did heavy work MF. Have a great day.

Maybe you could put the compost bag up on the table too to save bending so much ?

Great news about the local college for cheaper beauty treatments 😁

The unit sounds like it’s coming along nicely.

    Thank you SYA.

Had a rough night and spent most of it awake.

I've now got 3 coats of paint on the unit. Stuck one on this morning and another lunchtime. Will see if I can put a few more on each lunchtime this week and then move on to the next unit.

Weather has been sunny and raining today, with a bit of wind.

My CC payment came out and I moved some money to savings.

£40 in the bank, 15 days until payday.

Having steak tonight and my feet are well and truly up!
