Totally SH, but I've had them for quite a while now. Having the Monday off adds another layer of free time, especially now I've loads to fill my days with 🤭

Went to my 2nd home lunchtime and after work. Spent over 3 hours in total digging more of the section and I've nearly done a width strip; whatever wide by about 5ft down the section. I'm hoping to have that strip and another about the same size done tomorrow.
    - I'm beginning to think I may be able to get all this section cleared, ready for planting and sowing by next weekend 😃

I dug out a few strawberries, potted up and placed on a new friend's plot. I'll be taking some spare herbs from the garden for him. It will keep him busy for a bit.

I've increased my food as, apparently, digging is a full body workout and burns a lot of cals. I may increase food further and will see what the scales / tape measure say the weekend; losing from the belly down and toning arms is fine.

Today was egg mayo baguette, fudge custard donut, spaghetti with homemade tomato sauce and a bit of cheese on top, fruit and a couple of latte's.

Must also start practicing makeup, really want to get it right.

All bills have come out and I'm squirrelling pennies away.

You are doing so well with digging the Lottie. I had asparagus & rhubarb from DF’s allotment today 😋 It tastes so much better straight from the ground to the plate 😁

Sounds like you are doing great at the allotment and I dont want to upset you, but have you heard of 'no dig gardening?' I follow along these lines, mostly. Saves alll that back breaking digging and is better for the soil not to be so disturbed. Weeds are combated by layers of cardboard and compost (which can be expensive inaitilly until you get get making your own compost)
If your interested look up Charles Dowding on you tubs

We are just harvesting the asparagus which is lush and so easy to grow, it just takes care of itself!. and had a rhubarb crumlbe last night B) another very easy plant that coes back each year!

    HAve a good day

I'm a no dig fan too - but it does require more money for compost unless you make loads of your own.

    Thanks Skinty, FP and SH

We do no dig at home, but there was no chance of doing that at my 2nd home due to the mass of brambles, nettles and other creeping weeds.

I'm enjoying digging over, getting the roots out and giving myself a clean slate to start with. I'll agree it's back breaking, but also the most exercise/ movement I've been able to do in years.

I was allocated a severely neglected plot. I'm determined to get one section cleared and planted this month. Next month is potter / prep / tidy / hopefully move toms to the greenhouse as I need to grow my nails. July dig over another section. That would mean the lower half of my plot has been cleared.

The top half of my plot is covered in tarp as that's mainly couch grass, dandelions, membranes and decorative bark matted together.

Friday and Saturday I was down there all day. Got a load of nettles and roots up, created a fence at the bottom of my plot where a section was missing. I've also started refitting the fence between my plot and the neighbours. TomBo donated a compost frame and its contents to get me started. The plot is starting to look so much better and loved.

Had a day off yesterday and we went up to MIL, great catch up and was given greenhouse glass.

I'm alternating my spare money between a bit of savings and paying bit off the CC.

Well done it sounds like you are pacing yourself and it’s all coming together.

Would you be better off paying off the credit card first, unless it’s a 0% of course!

Glad the allotment is getting tamed. You needed a new project.

    Thanks Skinty, DIA and SH

My CC isn't 0% but the interest was only £1.69 for this month 🤭 I can't not save as I've still got two events over the next couple of months and want to ensure money is no object.

It's so handy having the allotment minutes away and I'm taking full advantage of it by attending lunchtimes and after work. If the weather is on my side the rest of this week, I may be able to finish digging the section I'm doing and start planting / sowing veg. I'm also repairing the fence as I go along, using post to post as a guide for the maximum area I'll dig in one day.

Today I dug round more of a post I'm trying to get out so I can fit my edging and sow flower seeds (nasturtiums), the sky opened up and I did 30 minutes before returning home, grabbing my purse and heading up the shop for fruit. Just as I finished work the sky opened up again and my clothes are in the wash as they never dried from earlier. I decided to stay home and now the sun has come out 😕

I've got a huge bin full of weeds, my incinerator is full ready to be lit, there's three huge piles of bramble, nettles and other weeds and I've started a further mountain. In an attempt to get rid of everything I'll be bagging and bringing it home to go in the garden waste bin. Due to the types of weeds I won't risk putting them in my compost bin.

I totally needed something to keep my brain occupied, it's helping tire my body out too but sleep is still an ongoing issue to resolve. I'm confident thing will settle in time.

I've attempting to update my diary a little less at the moment as hearing me talk about digging holes and pulling roots out each day will get a little boring. I also slowed my diet right down and upped cals due to the physical effort I'm putting in as I was seriously at risk of losing just over 2 stone in 5 weeks, which would have totally messed up the plans for event one.

Haven't a clue what TomBo is cooking, but I've got my feet up patiently waiting 😊
