  • Thanks SW and SH

While the new meds help, they also let me overdo it, the warning came when it was too late. I ended up having a lie down lunchtime, and after I finished, in an attempt to make the new pain go away; constantly interrupted by TomBo both times!
    - I'll have to be careful about pushing myself for work.

I've not done any studying, perhaps Monday's are not a day for it, but at least I've 2 full study days and evenings for a month.

I'm having leftover sag aloo and rice for tea and I've got my feet up.

  • Glad you are resting. You will adapt to the new meds over time and get used to how much you can do.

I just didn't eat enough and also had side effects; my legs went to jelly sitting down!

Today I'm back to smoothies for breakfast and lunch as they're filling and hopefully sufficient to counteract side effects.

I'm having a tax refund in my pay, nearly £380 😲 so if I do get a PT role I should end up with another refund.

Doing a very rough calculation. This pay, plus what I'll get next month and from TomBo means I don't have to work again before my exam! I can also focus on securing a career role over the same time period 😀

No news on any of the positions I've applied for.

Great news on the tax refund. It all helps. Well done on sticking well to your budget and savings goals too. Always impressive.

  • Thank you DIA and SH

I'll potentially have 3 months study break after this job ends next month, unless I'm offered something else. I'll be lowering my outgoings again to make the money last.

While I like having FT money, as you've all pointed out trying to work FT conflicts with the amount / intensity of my studies, let alone with my health.

If I can secure PT work, I stand a better chance of completing and passing each module, therefore reducing costs and getting me back into my career sooner.

I will keep an eye out for career roles whatever happens.

I have managed to study today. Planned to do 2 pages as I'm exhausted, but did a lot more and only have 8 pages left of this chapter. Hopefully I'll get it finished tomorrow and then I'm on to another chapter 😀

Got my feet up watching TV.

  • Fingers crossed for the pt role. Glad to hear you have almost finished this chapter

I thought it was Thursday today ☹️ still at least the sun is shining and birds are singing 😊

There's an interesting FT role at my company, however I doubt I could cope with all the driving and I wouldn't want to be clocking up those kind of miles in my car even though the mileage is paid. It's not a career role, but is in the vein of it. I have to make a decision today whether to apply for it or not.

I'm also slowly coming round to the idea of trying to stay with the company and keep applying for career roles as and when they pop up, purely due to the fact PT will be an option whereas PT private sector career roles are slim to no chance.

It's all about keeping my options open and doing the right thing for my health. I honestly don't know if I'd cope with the commute to the city, but I've not really tried since moving here as I've always driven in.

    Payday in the morning 🤗

  • Got declined for the PT job, which is disappointing. However, I've a short extension on my current one which means my study break potentially starts November and I'll have extra money to fund it 🤗

I'm still undecided about applying for a certain FT job, but can always slip an application in after work tomorrow.

I finished the chapter today. My new one is 35 pages and hopefully I'll have that finished the weekend and on to the next one Monday.

TomBo said I'm beginning to look a lot better, have colour in my cheeks and seem perkier.

Sounds positive on your health and the extension on the current job. At least you can manage for a while if you need to between roles and as you say it benefits your studies. Don't forget you'll earn extra holiday staying longer too.
