Thanks SH
The shorter week is beneficial for energy levels. It's odd as my day off is spent sat at my laptop studying and no real difference to my working days when I'm sat at my work laptop; both are digesting vast amounts of information.
I'm undecided about the potential jobs, all will be boring and frustrating. I'm only considering the PT one because I'd have enough free hours to study FT.
- Did just find another potential one with them, I'll have a proper look at it tomorrow.
Had an idea pop into my head this evening!
When I first started this level years ago I did three modules, only passing one of them, the second one is what I've just redone.
When it comes to the third one, there's absolutely nothing stopping me from reading the syllabus and books, writing revision notes, swatting and resitting the exam without actually doing the course with the college I'm now using. It means I can get that done second exam sitting of '23.
Obviously, it all hinges on how well I do self-teaching my current module. I plan on being at the revision stage before classes actually start as it's the only way I'll be exam ready for the first sitting in '23.
Perhaps this is a good enough justification to me for applying for the PT role as it helps me with time to achieve what I want.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.3 -

I think working full time and trying to study seems quite rough on your body. You might find your current role would offer you part time hours at the end of this contract if you let them know that's what you wanted.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Thanks Skinty, that's one way to look at the boredom factor!
Thanks DIA and SH, they're still in talks about my contract and I've already said about hours as it came up in conversation.
I can make the salary work as my basic bills are under £676pm (increased up to account for utilities), excluding food, petrol, study costs, car repairs and insurances.I have 2 CT free months a year, extra £250py into the pot, and money from TomBo each month.
Without a doubt studying FT and working FT is hard going, currently made easier due to WaH. All I can do is see what happens as I don't want to stay, but it fits in with what I want to achieve and I can't overlook that major selling point!
Had a chat with my tutor this evening, I'm the only one doing the module by distance learning. There's no actual classes for me to attend, unless the physical students want some, just the virtual classes I've already started. Which makes life so much easier with time management and balancing my health 🤗
I told him my study rota for the next month; A/L booked to create study days, all day Saturday's and 2 hours in the evening, plus how many weeks of pure revision before the exam and he said it's more than enough to be exam ready.
Did a few more pages from my book. Due to the RM strikes my new books are currently about 20 miles away and my not be with me until next week.
Having veg bol (courgette, toms, homegrown onions and chillies) with spaghetti. My eyes are watering as the onions are frying and I'm in the lounge with me feet up!Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.3 -
Your post reminds me how most of the MSE community pay CT over 10 months and make plans for the 2 'free' months.

Thanks DIA
Tea was really nice 😀
My 2 free months I always try and save, rather than spend it.
Just thought, I'd have an 'extra' payday once a year as it's 13 pay dates due to being 4 weekly, not monthly. Therefore I can make PT work with the company.
I could join the public pools, 20% discount and go swimming on a non-working day.
I'll send a couple of applications off this week as I'm beginning to see a lot more positives 🤗
I am checking daily for career roles too, PT are scarce, but for the right FT role I'd slow my studies down.
I start working at a silly time, rolling out of bed and switching everything on, that frees up energy to study late afternoon. It's how I'm able to work and study, just in case anyone wondered 🤭
I'm fully enrolled on my course, paid the fee yesterday via CC and I'll spread the cost so I can save wages as a back up plan.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.3 -
Great you are now fully enrolled and paid up for the course.
