Thanks SH and SW
Yesterday was a lot of fun as it's probably every other year we go to see an old film. Food was great and it was good trying different dishes.
I'm hoping the books arrive by the weekend, they're from my go to book place but from their shop rather than their 3bay shop, which also made them cheaper as no middle man.
It feels like I've got over my study hump and can forge ahead with this module, be nice if I could study proper full-time and only work 3 days for the next couple of years. Just have to see what happens.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.4 -

Have a good dayIf you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

The PT thing is something I'm looking into as I've no idea what's happening with this contract, discussions are ongoing apparently.
I've enough holiday left for the remainder of my contract to only work 4 days a week, therefore that's what I'm now doing and it's given me an extra 4 full study days, taking me up to 2 full study days a week and whatever I can slip in after work.
I must admit only working 4 days a week is more suitable for my health. Even with intense studies yesterday I don't feel as rundown as I normally would. I definitely wouldn't cope doing compressed hours to free up a day as that day off would be spent recovering.

It would be so good if you could fit it in working part time. Keeping fingers crossed for you.
I am so glad you went out. I haven't been to the pictures since pre Covid days. You are giving me ideas!!!!Aiming for a minimal spend 20223 -

The cinema was good and it had reclining seats, all very posh and a nice treat.
There's an 18h job in my building, band below mine and I could manage on the salary. Also a FT job, same pay as I'm on. Both are similar to what I'm doing now and I've a few days to decide whether to apply.
Even 12 - 18 months working less hours a week would be beneficial for my studies. The other option is temp or take FTC jobs, with breaks as each one finishes.
So far no replies to my career role applications, adverts are still up.
I did an hour of study condensing. Picked a small chapter, so far it's waffle with lots of historic information and takes a few reads to figure out what I need to type up. But it's an interesting topic!Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.3 -
I’d go for the 18 hours if it’s less stress and you can manage on the salary. However I think you are highly intelligent and high functioning and will be bored and restless in a job that does not stretch you mentally?

It would work out to about £880 take home pay every 4 weeks, therefore would cover bills, food, outgoings and my study costs. However, as you've pointed out, the boredom with lack of challenge leaves me flat and twiddling my thumbs.
I've already worked out 'ticking over' in my current job will still see me having better stats than my experienced colleagues 🤨 if there's nothing to aim towards, or beat, how can I really improve. Another couple of days and my knowledge will be the same as everyone else.
I'm not sure studying would counteract the job boredom as it hasn't so far.
Dropping down a level could easily see me as too knowledgeable and experienced, which is the same reason I'm struggling with securing career roles.
I am in a very awkward catch 22 situation. While studying is the right thing to do, it's also so wrong.
On paper, I'm already above managers and department heads due to experience and a perceived threat to go after their roles or split to a better company; which stands a good chance I would do either or both as I like to progress and not stagnate. Adding my qualification, when I've finished it, opens up more doors and I'm a bigger threat.
Home time soon. I've got studies and CPD today 🤗Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.3 -
I am glad you have 4 day weeks for a while. Hopefully that will help too.
