    Thanks SH

I'm trying but it's compulsory doing nothing as this job drained what little energy I have sitting around, being talked at, spoken to like carp, and all the stuff about my health, which is also messed up.

I'm doing my job, not deliberately going over and above, just doing what's expected and what I'm paid to do.  It's 'odd' and embarrassing getting compliments all the time.

At the moment I'm 'worried' about my course, not in a 'im stressed' way but trying to do it rather than the content. I keep telling myself I'll pick everything up, hence staying positive when I mention it. That's not keeping me awake at night 😉
    - I do put my virtual classes on, so at least I'm doing something towards it, even if I'm not reading.

It's 5 no sleep nights out the last 12 so far, the sleep nights are still broken. Maybe I should pick a boring topic from my module to study at times like this and see if I drift off 😀

I have booked a day off next week because of going to the cinema the day before and I'll use that time off as a full study day. It might be best if I use my leave for studies as I've nothing planned, TomBo can barely book time off and if my contract does get extended I'll get more pro rata holiday allowance.

Sounds a more sustainable way of studying. It did sound like you were burning yourself out before.

Take the compliments. Sounds like they don't want you to leave and that you are competent. When I am with people who disrespect me I just think - they take themselves with them wherever they go...

I hope you can go to the cinema and am glad you are doing your job without B2 being all over your shoulder. We can do this ladies, one step at a time. We are in this for the long haul. Im wondering why you are not sleeping, is it worth changing your pre sleep routine?

    Thanks SH and SW

It's the job that's burning my energy up. I check six systems to get all the information to action each case, potentially researching advice I have to give, then it's phone calls, emails, letters to do afterwards, followed by updating a system with what's been done. I need to start preparing my own template letters and emails, so I can copy and paste and save time.

Makes me miss my career working off one uber efficient and reliable system.

B2 is the nice one, who does have management skills, aside from not calling when they say they will I can't fault them.

Cinema tickets were purchased a few weeks ago and I was told we were going after that.

I'm not sleeping due to being overtired and in constant pain. I survive on broken sleep and my no sleep nights I have upto an hour nap when TomBo gets up and occasionally upto 10 minutes before he finishes work.

It's not surprising I'm struggling to study after I finish my job. Hopefully one full weekend day, occasional evenings, the classes when they start, my days off and Christmas holidays will be more than enough time.

It was no better today. The systems hinder rather than help, I can see why colleagues cut corners and just go straight to the calls. B1 asked me how I'm getting on with something and then admitted to not even training me on it, which explained why I'm bumbling through.

I've found some external training, which should explain a few things better than the internal 'training' I've had. All shows willing etc.

I ended up going to bed this afternoon, didn't have the energy to close the window and had a hour doze off and on, depending on what drove by the flat 🤭

I'm currently cooking a veg and bean chilli. Threw everything into the pan and added a bit of chilli, paprika and half a tbl spn of cayenne pepper; I'll need a lot of rice and pop to counteract the heat 🙈 I may call it the ulcer 🤣
    - just shows I'm not functioning right.

Thank goodness it is nearly the weekend and I'm having a long one; studying Saturday, cinema and shopping Sunday, studying Monday.

I'll post my August financial update tomorrow.

  • Sorry to hear the job is still rubbish. You obviously needed a nap this afternoon. Sleep when you can. Hope the chilli didn’t blow your heads off 🥵

It's tedious.  I'll be doing exactly the same thing each day.  The work won't get any better, or more interesting, the longer I'm in it. I'll get quicker, but that's it.

The chilli was just for me, I've got leftovers for tomorrow 🤫
