Dropping two dress sizes is great. Glad you have a start date at last. Some councils pay mid month - will yours?

Sorry to hear about your relative.

    Thanks Skinty, SH and Chrystal

It's heartbreaking time will be cut short, but at least we reconnected and for that I'm grateful.

I've got the 4 weekly pay dates marked on my calendar due to keeping track of when TomBo gets paid. I could have started July payday week and had a bit extra in the August pay, but wanted those extra few days to focus on my module 😊
    - perhaps I'm not as money focused as I appear!

I don't know the department dress code but guessing dress and cardi for the office, trousers / skirt, blouse and cardi when doing client visits. It's only a couple of skirts / trousers I need and I'll be in training for the first few weeks.
    - I do have some swatting up to do, but that'll be done the weekend before I start.

The break has been beneficial. Days initially felt wasted, but I needed get back on my feet as my health took some pounding. Also helped me gather thoughts and direction.

    Hope so Skinty

My new neighbour gets home at the early hours and has to slam their door, sometimes repeatedly, to get it closed properly. Hope they sort it out soon.

Next week I've a few plans; first virtual class, virtual welcome meeting with my tutor, clothes shopping and lunch with a mate.

I'll be making a veg biryani later. If it works out, that will be one of my work lunches.
    - I'm thinking smoothie for breakfast, rice / falafel / 'cheese' and salad for office lunches, fruit / 'yoghurt' / nuts for snacks when I'm in the office.

I'm off to a late start today, but have plenty of time to do my typing. Just having a coffee.

Blue sky, sunshine and no winds today, shame I don't have a table outside as it looks like a nice one to be studying in the fresh air 🤭

    Had an off tangent day.

I'm fully enrolled at college and have access to the course material, I've been going through it and will start at the beginning again tomorrow as I type; I'm still on track which is the main thing.

Made the biryani and curry, worked out well and I've a portion of the biryani left for lunch tomorrow. I'll make a bigger pot the weekend ready for next week, as it saves my energy and means I am eating in the day.

I've watered the gardens and will have a potter the weekend, sow more seeds and lift some spuds; the winds have damaged some of the plants.

    Thanks SH

Managed 2 hours of broken sleep. Can't blame it on the neighbours as they got in just as I went to bed and appear to have also just come back again now; guessing they don't have the same finish time as each other.

Part of me is tempted to get on with college work, the sensible side of me thinks just lying down will give my body a rest even if I am awake.

What's good is I can daydream, have to pick where I fancy mentally nipping off too; sat on the moonlit beach, having a swim in the warm sea with the sun overhead, enjoying an iced coffee on the beach or in the garden, all with the real-life seagull calls and birds singing for company 🤭

I'll be going fruit and veg shopping later, popping to a couple of charity shops to see if they've a folding bed and doing my coursework.

    Total change of plan today!

I've been busy trying to complete all the college enrollment info, providing ID etc.

I have received the formal job offer. At interview I was told the FTC may get extended, it was all down to funding. Turns out I'm covering a secondee, which means this isn't a 6m FTC due to the amount of time taken getting to this point. I've spoken with TomBo / SIL and they've explained how the inner workings fit together.

On to the good news about the role, salary. I'll be going in at the top of my grade 😲
    - From everything I've read, this is an almost impossible achievement!

This is my second highest ever salary.

My new plan is do this module, do my FTC, start my next module and if the FTC isn't extended then I'll have the last few months of the next module purely as study / revision time, while focusing on only applying for career roles.
    - If I knew for sure this FTC wouldn't get extended, I would run two modules together!

From a financial point of view:
    - I'll keep savings to a minimum, aside from my car everything pot.
    - I'll move every penny possible to my study account to keep me ticking over like I've done this time.

I've changed; the old me would have been upset and ranted, the new me has taken it in my stride and worked it to my advantage 😊
    - goes to show how much freedom there is in being debt free and only having the mortgage.
