Disappointing that the role isn't for as long as you expected. Great that they seem to have upped the pay to compensate. Where I live recruiters are struggling to fill vacancies so hopefully it will work outAchieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

There's loads of vacancies up here SH. The career one I got declined for is still being advertised, either they're too picky or its so niche there's not enough candidates.
I've renewed the car insurance, added business cover, updated jobs as I'll have started the new one at that point. Fully comp, full and protected NCB etc; just over £187 and paid in full.
For buildings and contents insurance, vehicle repairs, mini service, MOT and insurance; zero rated car tax, over the last year it's all cost under £800.
I'm studying and typing for the remainder of the afternoon.
Suggested chippy night to celebrate the job being confirmed, I'll have chips and salad again as I enjoyed that. I might push the boat out with a bottle of pop.

Thanks SH, believe it or not it actually came in about £30 cheaper than renewal quote with the job changes and adding business use reduced that to £20 cheaper. I guess LA staff are seen as low risk.
I've reworked budgets, stripped them down like I have for this unpaid period, increased the petrol budget and car pot savings.
Based on the projected end date, I should be able to save about £2200 from income alone. Plus I'll have money from TomBo. It will cover a decent 'break' while I focus on studies.
I'll keep running it like this until the FTC ends, has a decent extension or I secure another permanent role.
The 'break fund' could then go into savings or pay a chunk off the mortgage and then I'll revert to my original budget.
The mileage allowance will get saved towards my course fees.
It feels like I've so many options available 😊 and what's so good is TomBo supports whatever I decide 😃Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.3 -
It's lovely when you have support. That's a nice chunk of savings.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Thank you SH, the support is making all of this so much easier. TomBo has told nearly everyone he knows that I'm studying and about my new job; he's very proud of what I'm doing.
I'll continue to do a financial update each month as I'm accountable for my actions.
I've worked my way through 3/5ths of the online course material today, printing everything as I've gone along. Unfortunately, I've run out of black ink, ordered some and it should arrive by midweek, cost £20.
My plan is to keep going through the material each day for the next week, from the start, and tackle more of my produced work. Then when I move on to P2 all the info on how to do it is in my head and I'll get off on a good footing to produce that. P3 will just be consolidating the results from everything and can be done in a day.
- I'm endeavouring to get all of it submitted and signed off before I start my new job.
I'm able to understand how this college have a high pass rate as the information and support is so different from when I tried this module elsewhere.

Blue sky and sunshine and I've had a nice day so far.
Went to the antique shop. They had the most gorgeous P.Knoll /C.field wingback chairs, oxblood colour; TomBo said no due to the price.
Popped to the charity furniture shop. Found a lovely red leather 2 seater reclining sofa and a black leather reclining chair. Got a green rug too. Total cost, including delivery Friday, £183.
They are very comfortable, fully functional and good condition; could have fallen asleep when sat on both to try them. They're the first recliners that have worked with my health and I've sat on a lot over the last 5 years.
We went to T, got loads of fruit, salad, veg, beer, dairy, gf and cupboard items, spent £38.
I've had rice and salad for lunch, got my feet up and I'll water the garden later.

Thanks SH, the rug was £3, delivery £20 and the rest furniture, which isn't bad as we know the cost of new recliners.
I know green wouldn't be to everyone's taste, but it works well and ties in with the flower paintings hung on the walls. Also identifies my workspace area.
Next on my list is a different bed / mattress, but that can wait a while longer. I want one with a smaller frame as the bed can go width ways in the bedroom. Ours would get sold / donated.
It's 24°, clear blue sky and windows are open.
No real plans for today aside from studies, sow some seeds and cook a pot of rice.

Just catching up. You have the job confirmation and good to see you making it work for you.
Salary sounds great.
Your charity furniture shop sounds brilliant. Are we allowed to see the furniture?
