  • I'm trying SH, but struggling.

Had a supermarket voucher from work, which I'm really pleased with.

I've got a double-sided locket and the photos printed. Small enough to wear all the time, big enough to see the images. It's settled me a bit, but I have to brave putting the two together.

I also got a little photo album, I'll never be able to create a full childhood from it, but I will do my best with what I can gather up over the next year 💖

Didn't get my brows done as I couldn't face it.

Got jabbed and had the flu one. What was really bizarre is the nurse asked me if I have fibro when we had a chat about my health; it's what I suspect I have.

Also picked up another gift for TomBo; I'm happy with what I've got for him.

Must admit I've spent a bit this afternoon, £120, however I had to do what I've done in an attempt to gain inner peace.

  • I managed to do my locket 😊

Did a quick calculation for my new pension and numbers look ok. Still no update from my old DB, which is beginning to annoy me now.

Only £100 to find for mortgage O/P, it's still earmarked ready for payday.

Tomorrow I will pop to the butcher and wrap presents.

This holiday I'm planning on resting.

  • Thanks Skinty

I feel more settled now I'm wearing them by my heart. It's quite weird how I process things. I have an 'urge' to do something and once it's done, I feel we are both at peace.
    - not cried writing that, so it's working!

I've even started collating photos in the album.

TomBo has been to T, done the shopping and he used my present from work to help pay for it.

I've shuffled over to the butcher, gave him a present and I got steak, beef joint and pork chops. Spent £46.

I've sent the remaining O/P to the mortgage and now owe £60k 😀 I'll do a proper financial round up later this month.

All that's left for me to do is decide what films we are watching over the holidays, I'm not ready to watch my normal ones, and wrap TomBo's presents.

Glad you have your locket and it is bringing you comfort, take time to release sadness when you need to and keep taking things steadily.

    Amazing work on the 60k!!!!

I really do hope you have a lovely Christmas xx

  • Thanks SH

I'm so pleased to have reached the target!

I've been as productive as I can from the sofa / bed, done little shuffle bursts. Have to wrap everything tomorrow.

Lounge is looking more christmasy, I've got all the cards up, hung my lights and somehow quickly created a Christmas for us.

Films picked out; comedy Christmas, serious action, comedy action and I just have to think of a few more.

I've tried to have a sleep, can't get warm even with the heating on and wrapped up like a turkey. TomBo has confined me to the sofa now 🤭

We're having a tomato beef thing for tea.

  • I had the Christmas day I've dreamed of for as far back as I can remember!

Got up and chilled out, watched a film and opened some presents, after watching each film we opened another, the last one was opened at 10pm.

We had a late lunch of steak and homegrown veg, cheese and crackers for tea. We laughed a lot throughout the day.

Each year I'd always be upset as gifts would be opened first and that was it for the day, same as cake day. I could never logically explain why. Doing the history chat with family, it all made sense, it's how things were done when I was tiny. While I appear to have no conscious memories, I clearly have subconscious ones 😊

Next time I can do the traditional tree with presents under it, but I'm happy with how it turned out.

It definitely made me so happy and was the best one I've had 😊

I've been totally wiped out today, kept going back to bed and I'm hoping to be up for the rest of the evening. When I woke up from one I remembered there was another gift for TomBo, I'm now tempted to keep one back each year for boxing day 🤭

I had cheese, crackers and homemade tomato chutney for tea. A 'cousin-in-law' sent homemade nut, chocolate and cardamom bites, had some for pudding.
