Thank you everyone.
Journey went well, long but I did all the driving. Hotel is nice and I'm looking forward to hitting the pool!

Thanks Skinty and SH
Haven't managed a swim yet, will be in the morning as I've done all the prep when we got back tonight.
Of course the room is hers, she's well settled on the bed sleeping, as is TomBo. I'm watching a film to wind down; think I could get used to watching movies in bed 😀
I'm going to do the first 100 miles back, TomBo can take over after that.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.4 -
I've not yet slept. The room is like an oven even with the window open a bit. I have taken myself off to the bathroom, but even that is only slightly cooler.
TomBo is still happily sleeping, cat has only got up once for a walk round and is now snoring.
The family home felt alien to me, I barely recognised the areas I used to go to and have lived in. They are all thriving, but it felt totally overdeveloped and over commercialised; I'd never move back.
Over about 3 hours yesterday I learned so much, compared to the last four odd decades. I'll never be whole as there will always be gaps that can't be filled with words, but I'm being given 'used' memories and have so many more to collect.

Is there a flannel or small hand towel that you can dampen and put round your neck or on your forehead to cool yourself down a little ? Memories of things & places from childhood are sometimes distorted from the reality we see in adulthood. Hope the used memories are of happier times.

Perhaps buy a fan MF. I often take one when we go away - it disguises the outside noise and keeps me cool. The thrum of the fan can be settling too.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Thanks Skinty and SHI grabbed an hour sleep after TomBo woke up, went for a 30 min swim and did 10 laps, plus some half laps, followed it by a full English 🙈
Had more information from someone else. I'm beginning to take shape and understand where I get my traits from. Think I've uncovered the truth about something and have been told a few other things about the wider family; mysteries are being unravelled after all these years.
Cat is very content!
We had mD for tea, wasn't great but has filled me up. Will be doing exercise tomorrow and have a long swim to unwind afterwards.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.2
