  • Thanks SH, it was considering I only had an hours sleep.

I must do a little tidying as I've got too many pockets of random things in the lounge.

Pheasant soup sounds … “interesting” I’ve tried a few different game birds as my b-in-law shoots, but this year he was gifted some venison which we had Christmas Day (and Turkey which was shop bought) 😋

    Well done on Christmassy bargains.

Try to get some rest during the day if you are not sleeping at night, don’t want you going back to work exhausted

Well done you have done so well. Well done on reduced price shop.

  • Thanks Skinty and SW.

It was just pheasant and veg done in the pressure cooker with stock. Strip the bird down, blitz the veg and stock, throw the bird back in.

I'm not keen on venison, think TomBo overcooked part of it as half was ok and the other half like liver!

I've done some weeding and spent about an hour in the garden, if it's dry again tomorrow I'll do some more and try to transplant my strawberries.

I'm scaling back the different types of things to grow, but increasing the quantity of what I do grow. Therefore it will be lots of onions, garlic, root veg, greens rather than all of that with experimental items; I've enough seeds for the growing season.
    - We are still working our way through the spuds we lifted a while back 😊

I have done a bit of tidying, need to do a lot more but will try and chip away at it throughout the day.

  • Chilling is good SW.

I've done half the tidying, the other half is the stuff I came back up with and I'll try to deal with that tomorrow; have to do a proper sweep of the papers and box up the sentimental items.

    Had a sleep this afternoon.

Tomorrow I'd like to do some gardening, plan my seed sowing and pop to the local cheesecake shop; I've driven past it and know where it is now, it opened up a couple of months ago. There's also a furniture shop just opened and I would like a look round that too, it sells things of all ages.

We had pork chops and veg for tea.

  • The photos look good and they do milkshakes, how am I to just pick one SH!

Four new shops have opened up since we moved here and it's premises which have stood empty for years. There's a couple more which should be opening and slowly the 'village' is coming alive, provided they get support and can stay in business; I can only do my bit to help them.

  • The cheesecake was too sweet, big and filled my hand, milkshake was nice. Would have the latter as a Christmas treat as it's too expensive for a monthly one.

I had a look in the furniture shop window and a couple of things caught my eye, prices don't seem to be bad.
