I have to ask, how would one go about folding a towel ‘incorrectly’?

Corners not matching up - ragged folding causing ends untidy! I know - get over it but this is my only OCD moment so please allow me a little moan :rotfl::rotfl:

Yes its all give and take. DH and I have been married 27 years - we both recently retired and by golly that first few weeks of living together and me being bothered about the little stuff that you mention have come back a hundred-fold! I am loving us having time together but am biting my tongue left right and centre on some of the way he does things as he has now taken control of cleaning and cooking. I just let him get on with it now and enjoy doing my sewing and knitting.

Regarding the money side of things. When we bought our first home 27 years ago I contributed more. He has always earned more than me though, everything went into a joint account. A few years later he contributed money from some endowment funds and we were "equal" again. He then gave up work for a few months and I contributed more and so it went on. In the end it all balances out.
