#20 checking in early today -
Budgets: Stuck to it so far. Nothing unexpected
Make do, mend, or do without: Have got to order eldest's new coat on Thursday as his zip has now broken and cannot be repaired
15 NSD : 2/15 (hoping tomorrow will be also)
Coffee: Must remember to put sachets on my grocery order so I'm not tempted as much. Same for hubby - check if he has enough supplies at work.
Meals: Sent hubby to work with soup and a roll (both were in the freezer)
Remove 60 items: 5/60 - 2 books added to the 'donate' bag.
Toiletries: None on this week's grocery list
2 Outings: 1/2
Fresh air: Weather is thoroughly miserable today but will go early to collect the kids from the bus-stop and go for a walk around the village.
Charity: My 'donate bag' is getting bigger, and I sent youngest in to school with his poppy money.
Three things: Music to make housework more fun, my laptop to allow me to access so much information, candles to help me relax.
Reach out: Calling my Mum later for a natter
start 1 or 2 new habits this month: Been on here 2 days in a row with lots to be grateful for. My MR has been done the past 5 days and my to-do list is more like a ta-dah list!Changing my Family's Future!! - Starting again!!!!
Current Progress -
Debt - Start date 14/4/25 = £14,880.45
Savings Goal = £1000 EF - £0/£1000 = 0%0 -
Not much to report about yesterday. Slow start - think it took me about 4 hours to get ready - various ailments, swapping to real handbag and slow eating ood hummus with a bag of tiny carrots. However it felt like the right thing to do - I kept checking the time, was making progress but never rushed.
Renewed my books online except for one which someone else has reserved, went to the cash machine and got mini statements. My account is going up (not using card for purchases or getting more cash out) and mum's worked (worried after the debacle at little Arseda - she is due a new card in January so this is tired and worn but wasn't looking forward to arguing with her bank's phone workers).
Dropped the book back into the library and sat in the warm where I could watch the church clock until mum and the taxi were due to appear. Good appointment, mum has now been 'moulded' for new hearing aids, next appointment early December. Taxi back to mum's, ate mainly from her fridge (all stuff that needed using up - she has ood cooked meat that she wants me to eat today).
Did another chunk of sewing before the light went (sure I'm nearly finished but I've been telling myself that for the past month), had a little lie down with my book whilst mum watching comedy programmes which weren't that funny the first time and definitely not the 30th time. Mummy of twins came to collect us for church (it was her husband's day off so she was happy to escape from her 4 lovely daughters for an hour).
Lovely service, lots of cheerful hymns and thoughtful and comforting words plus mum got to chat to lots of people. Took the 2 binbags of soft toys for the Christmas fair but the woman who had offered to collect them is still going to visit mum on Wednesday afternoon (more tea and chat). Was dropped off at the door - I was going to offer to leap out at any convenient point but the childproof locks meant m-o-t had to get out to let me out.
Straight upstairs and meesd around rescuing little monsters (having trouble concentrating on books or films because of the ailments - back to sleeping sitting up). Past two days have improved my room considerably but what hasn't been sorted is on the bed with me.
Grateful for lovely service and mum's church friends, lovely NHS staff and a quick appointment (+ quick chat with a member of the extended family) and leftovers to eat.
No money spent yesterday (made myself go to sleep to stop thinking about snacks) but did spend on Sunday as DS3's favourite t-shirt company was having a 24 hour sale and got him 6 for £6 (much cheaper than any I've seen - lots more that I could have bought but only allowed 6 for £6 in the first 8 hours, £9 yesterday and back to full price today. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
Didn't run in the end yesterday due to the weather but I have been running this morning - and got rather wet but at least I've done it now.
I posted an ebay parcel yesterday but didn't have to pay for postage as I had stamps, bought DS a BN sweatshirt from a charity shop for £1.99, it is really nice and soft and I got a lovely scented candle in a very pretty jar which I will keep. Also bought pie and peas for DH for tonight.
Yesterday I got another bag of apples and stewed them, they are now in the freezer, I passed the tree this morning and there are loads more windfalls so I will go back and get some more today and make apple crumble for tea.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Hello  :coffee:
Feel better soon f0xh0les - you seem to have quite a bit of stuff going on at the minute with illness and family - hope it all passes quickly and uneventfully.
I am checking in now, during my lunch break at work because I'm so tired I fear I may be asleep before 5pm. DS woke me up just before 5am - managed to get him back to sleep but no hope for me. I'm 3/4 of the way through a busy Tuesday and have already forgotten what half term felt like.
On the plus side, I have reached 5 Nov and am not overdrawn (better than last month) and I have no plans for spending today so hopefully getting to nsd 2 today. Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

Slight fail here … I went to Peter Jones “restaurant” yesterday. But its John Lewis, owned by the staff, I hadn't eaten for 8 hours of intense London activity, I'll have to go with that one.
-remove 60 items from your house (2 per day) – recycle them, give them to charity, pass on to a friend…
This is good, very good. And I've done nothing so far.

-use up your toiletries and household cleaners before buying any more.
I always do this. And I've just found a local reycling point for personal care products - so I can get my sister and my niece in on it too, hopefully.
-go on 2 outings. Yep, just 2.
No trouble fulfilling this … went on an outing yesterday, to see the Tutankamun Exhibition in London that just opened. I'm going catsitting later in the month, so I'll be going on at least two outings then, one to Osterley House National Trust property.
-tread lightly on our planet and get out there and enjoy fresh air every day.
I live on savings till I can get my state pension, so I'm very, very frugal, apart from going on holiday, though even then I try to do it cheaply. Still working on the environmental aspects – full holidays to different places only possible because of cruises, but they're heavy pollutersHolidays used to be much more environmentally friendly - by train, staying in hostels or camping.
-donate £5 or time to a charity you support. Foodbanks are especially in need at this time of year.
I've stopped supporting charities financially, because of not having any income, but I'll make an exception for this.
-come on here every day and post three things you are grateful for. l the 4th Thursday in November to give thanks.
Done that once. Today – I'm grateful for being able to walk enough to get to the exhibition yesterday, for not being rained on (just drizzled on!), finding a local Terracycle recycling point.
-reach out to help other people. Don't try to CHANGE people, just LOVE them.
Reached out on Saturday to someone in housing crisis, I think I helped. I'm only just feeling solid enough to start to reach out to help, but its a good feeling to do it again.

Excellent idea. A friend just emailed saying that when we meet up later this month, she wants to know about my spiritual practice. Oh dear ….
I'm definitely a work in progress ...2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Just a quick check in, not much to report apart from another NSD. Been to the gym this morning and now just enjoying 10 minutes for lunch. One of my clients is an hour late so now I have to sacrifice my lunch break to see them when they get here  I did make arrangements to meet with my cousin soon. We used to be really close but life just gets in the way sometimes, so want to make more effort to stay in touch.0
