Very rainy and foggy here this morning so I haven't gone out cycling, will see what the rest of the day brings and may run after tea.

Decluttered another item yesterday so am at 6/60. Have bids on an item I put on ebay on Saturday. Bought a vacuum cleaner yesterday, it isn't an expensive one but I needed something that actually has some suction, I have a Dyson Blade thingy and it is rubbish, just a glorified carpet sweeper, if you have pets, carpets and hair it just doesn't pick anything up.

Whilst we were out getting that we got DS some new trainers. DS went to bed one night and got up the next morning about a foot taller, he has had his other trainers ages and they were a size 7, to give the new purchase some perspective the new ones are a size 10 , I don't mind buying these new as he has one pair of trainers and his school shoes and just won't have any other shoes and we have only bought once a year so he gets our moneys worth.

Put lentil dahl in the slow cooker yesterday and turned it on at 10pm last night and off at 7am, it tastes wonderful, I have added in some more water and lentils to increase the texture and will turn it back on this afternoon. The kids are having pancakes for their tea.

Plan for today is catching up with housework, making some pizza dough, walking the dog and running.

Grateful for a good nights sleep, the garage coming earlier than we thought for the car, and His Dark Materials

Declutter is going well - two bags for life full of books to the charity shop and the dogs handbag too ... I must be halfway to 60 by now

NSD yes, going to finally get one in today because the car won’t be here and there’s no shop for miles

Donate ... my time? I have a phone number to ring for a recycling project who might need volunteers

Budget for this month is set, but to my horror Frozen2 is out at the end of it. Eldest granddaughter is supposed to be chauffeuring me and the younger girls to watch it. As Grandma volunteered to pay back in Spring when the film was announced that’s going to play absolute havoc with my spare cash. Trying not to dwell on the pick and mix

Checking in and reading everyones post.

Toni F - sending positive vibes for your sister. xx

Indiowarrier - lovely idea. I have a friend who helps feed homeless one a week, will have to enquire what donations they need. Giving a spare xmas tree but know always short of joggers especially in wet weather. Will get some ready for next sunday.

Friday - NSD and batch cooking done, veggie lasgne and soups

Saturday - 1 went shopping for a coat, its budgeted for £100. My treat for paying my mortgage early. Anyway bought gorgeous boots instead, with decent grips haven't taken them off this weekend. Trying to look like Elley off Countryfile but failing. Anyway they cost £45. So my coat budget is reduced but I have seen a possible for £60, just like a hooded one. Need to hunt harder.
Sunday NSD cooked a ham and grandkids/daughter arrived think they can smell it. Took them out for walk around zoo, saw 3 rescued seal pups so tiny, they release they back into sea when they are bigger. Got home before rain and NSD in the bag.

    NSD 2/15

Wont count today that will be tempting fate.

    Grateful for
    Sun outside
Being healthy, few aches but goes with age.
Lovely chat with daughter in NZ last night. 7 weeks until I see her.

Crazy, busy weekend here so will have to do a round up off Friday to Sunday. I’m exhausted today after hanging wallpaper all day yesterday and prepping walls ready for the decorator. I feel like I have done 10 rounds with Mike Tyson.

Budget - forgot to budget for speeding ticket:o and DH was desperate for some new work shirts and had 20% off at M&S so allocated an extra £10 to these above the normal monthly budget

Pay to Debts/Savings first - all in place but no DDs for debt gone out yet

15 NSDS 0/15 Always struggle with this one :o and no better this month either

Avoid Coffee Shops - none visited but bought drinks at bonfire display last night

Lunch to Work - Aiming for 20 days for DH 0/20

Remove 60 Items - 1/60 a bag of gubbins from clearing 2 drawers out and a few dried up paint brushes

Use up Toiletries and Condiments DH decided the bar soap didn’t make him feel clean so bought shower gel!

Daily Fresh Air Outside every day including attending fire work display and walking the dog (not at the same time!!)

Donate £5 - poppy appeal and shoe box donations done

Daily Gratitude - 3 days worth 1) trees in all their autumnal magnificence 2) the decorator having a 2 day cancellation and promising he could get our 2 rooms done in that time 3) telephones for allowing me to chat to my dad who lives abroad 4) DH taking DS to his match and then going on a road trip to pick up paint from 2 locations as sold out everywhere 5) DS having a great time with his play date ( even though my house looks like a bombs hit it  6) bacon sandwiches and tea 7) the helpful lady in the bank 8) the joiner being able to fix the ceiling before Christmas 9) having enough room for family to stay

Help others, Love People :heart2: invited DB and DSIL up for Christmas Day. They are already visiting Boxing Day but are on their own for Christmas Day and my mum would love it and she is here over Christmas

Also offered to watch my friends daughter when her school is closed for the election.

New Habits - have been to busy to think about this

    1) Eat 3 proper meals each day 0/30
    2) Drink 2 glasses of plain water each day 0/30
    3) Eat a minimum of 3 F&V each day 0/30
    4) Complete 2 items off my to do list each day 3/30

Today’s 2 to do items are 1) pick up DH shirts 2) put clean laundry/ironing away
    Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
    Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%
    Make £2021 extra income - £99.75

    Hi everyone, and happy Monday!

I'm also signed up to the taking your lunch to work and no spend day threads, which along with this one is keeping me very motivated!

Pleased to report 2 NSD's and anticipating, no will guarantee a third one today. I will not call in the shop on the way home in search of yellow stickered food bargains........

Also on day 2 of bringing lunch to work, this is quite an easy one for me as I don't really care for our canteen food much, and it's so expensive to buy a pre pack sandwich, and they're not even that nice. It's usually cottage cheese and crackers for me most days, not very exciting, but works out at a frugal lunch.

Really need to focus my mind on my food budget, despite writing a list, and remembering it on Saturday I went way over what I needed.......

    Things I'm grateful for today:

My legs not being too achey after yesterday's run.
For waking up early before the alarm and getting up instead of pressing snooze and putting off getting up......
And for having a lovely view of the changing colours of the autumnal leaves from my office window.....

Hope everyone has a great day x

PS: Does anyone know why my avatar picture doesn't come up when I post? I'm not the most technical person and have tried alsorts, but it still won't come up....... Thank you x

    Hello,

Think I'm still stuck at 3 SFD. Went out for dinner at a vegan restaurant (apart from me no-one would go back even the vegetarians). I really liked the food I had but then I was the only one who didn't go for some substitute. Why call it chckn burger if it is a soy burger, or tofush (tofish) rather than tofu goujons/sticks etc. And it's not buffalo cauliflower wings, its just buffalo style breaded cauliflower. I find this rather off-putting as a meat eater, I rather know what it really is.

Started to declutter a bit more too. Got rid of some plastic tat from the kids, dismantled our bbq, etc. Baths cooked some bolognese/lasagne base, some Thai butternut squash soup and rescued various food items from the fridge by freezing them.

Think it only works in the new version, unless that's what you're using. I'm still on the old one as I like it better,

just checked got mine on the new one but never did anything to be able to see it or not. So sorry no help

The new one is blue and not much contrast and the old one is green and nice contrast but if you see it while typing than that's the new one.

#20 Checking in - had a crazy weekend so now it's nice to take stock a little bit :D

Budgets - so far I'm sticking to budget. It was a very expensive weekend but we still have money left which for us is an acheivement!

Debts and Savings - All DDs have gone out for this month. My savings pots are drained but they were used for their purpose so it's ok. Thursday is payday and we start the replenishment.

15 NSDs - 1/15 - Still on 1. Spent a lot at the weekend and today I'm going to have to do a bit of a top up of milk, bread etc. Tomorrow and Wednesday should be NSDs though so I'm keeping that in my sights :D

Remove 60 Items - 3/60- I am carrying on my decluttering at home. It's mostly been rubbish/recycling that has been taken away rather than items, but I have about 5 things to put up for sale tomorrow when I have more time to take proper pictures so hopefully they'll go quickly and put some coins in the SPC.

2 outings - We went to a fancy-dress party at the weekend so I'm counting that as 1. I plan on using a free ticket I was given to take the kids to a Christmas event at a local stately home. I think I may take enough cash for a drink and a cake each in the tea shop....covers my 'avoid chains ' too!

3 things to be grateful for each day - 3 days worth!
    1. Friends - was lovely to spend time with adults :D
    2. My slow cooker
    3. Grandparents (and great-grandparents) and their baby-sitting abilities!
    4. My comfy bed
    5. Mr car and the ability to travel with no issues
    6. My children and their amazing-ness
    7. My wonderful vacuum cleaner for making cleaning so easy
    8. My dishwasher ditto
    9. my washing machine also ditto - these appliances make my daily rouitne so much easier I would be lost without them!!
Changing my Family's Future!! - Starting again!!!!
    Current Progress -
    Debt - Start date 14/4/25 = £14,880.45
    Savings Goal = £1000 EF - £0/£1000 = 0%
