    15 NSD 1

Avoid any and every chain coffee shop etc. Support local shops and traders.- nothing today

Remove 60 items from your house (2 per day) - another 15 today - 14 items to CS box, 1 recycled :T 124/60

Use up your toiletries and household cleaners before buying any more. - yep - using a half bottle of acid brought back from my nans house

Go on 2 outings - 1 done so far

Donate £5 or time to charity - lots of 'things' donated. Still to do poppy appeal - also donated £10 to a lovely cause. Will likely still send some things to school with DS2 for food bank as they are running a collection this month

Come on here every day and post 3 things you are grateful for. - finding a in-date epc for my nan's house in random paperwork so saving some money as that was on my to-do list to organise 1 this week, more things leaving, using food up from the freezer which has been in there a very long time

Start 1 or 2 new habits this month, ones that are simple and will make you feel better - fewer cups of tea and min 4 f&v per day - ok today for f&v. And tea ..

    I got a NSD yesterday, so 1/15
Today I have a headcold. It is disgusting. I do not like it.

Volunteered for 4 hours, wandered around for 2 hours in the fresh air, now I am officially miserable.
Gratitudes: Today has only been made possible by LemonSipping drinks and Mr Kleenex and a big pot of soup. Even more grateful that I have leftovers so lunch tomorrow is sorted too.

    Night all!

    Hi all :j

Budgets: Not set yet but am cutting down on shopping & also C*mas. Will not be a standard month as hols intervene. Not possible to do this atm as DH has 'bought me something for my birthday from our joint account & if I look at it, will immediately know what the gift is!!!'. Although will be using a different a/c after tomorrow as on hols, so that will be easier.

Make do, mend, or do without: Out today to do a little shopping, some for DD who is holding the fort & some gifts for our neighbours in the Emerald Isle. Making do not going so well as shower thingy came off as predicted. However used up food in for supper,

achieve at least 15 NSD : still 2/15

Coffee: Never drink it or go in a coffee shop so that's an easy one for me.

Meals: Lunch was a bought sandwich but supper home made. Did buy some teacakes to make sandwiches for our trip tomorrow, will also take cereal & milk for breakfast.

Remove 60 items: Removed 1 smashed glass vase.

Toiletries: Have loads & have a birthday this month so will hopefully get some more.

2 Outings: May be more than that as on hols...one is a meal out with family, but their treat so hopefully no cost. Outing tomorrow, lunch paid for by relatives :j

Fresh air:Out at previous property in the garden.

donate £5 or time to a charity you support: Have donated £2 to one, will donate to the other. Donated HK socks to rescue, had email telling me how delighted they are with them, very touching.

Three things: lovely email from rescue, getting all the stuff done today, cake.

    Reach out:

start 1 or 2 new habits this month: Water OK, diet not so much.

Popping in to say hi : Hello turtles!!
New start JAN15 - NOT BUYING IT 2015 . Long haul DFW #145 : 2011 DEBTBUSTING : £5500 OD GONE, £2000 OD - GONE £93,610.30 cc & loan debt - GONE 27.6.14 FINALLY DEBT & MORTGAGE FREE :happyhear

    Hi everyone
I hope everybody has had a good day. Just a quick update before I go to bed.
Did some shopping today, so have £3 and a bit of silver and copper left until Wednesday, so still on 3/15 sfd's
Did a round trip to the Drs, charity depot, tip, Post Office and then the sm this morning and then home to hm soup leftover from yesterday.
Items donated are quite a few (well a bag full) and I have been doing a bit more this afternoon in the kitchen, so that will ongoing.
    Grateful for:
    1. Able to listen to a fellow customer in the shopping queue who is having a tough time with her daughters, I think it helped me listening as I didn't know her.
    2. Telephone conversations with 2 dds.
    3. Being able to say yes to looking after a dgd tomorrow and picking another up from school on Friday.

    So off to bed shortly

  • Very quick update to keep myself on track- 3/15 NSDs, might manage another tomorrow. Grateful today for staying dry, my tumble dryer and my childminder not minding me being late leaving work. May have my first outing planned for next weekend but it should be very cheap (donation for entry and take some sweets for DD).
5/60 items removed- must try harder on this.
  • I seemed to be slipping off the frugal trail already this month so yesterday had a good talking to myself. I have restarted the envelope system for my spends which is where l have a problem. The contactless card being the main culprit. So l will see how l go with decluttering and hopefully this will bring some innerpeace And some funds. Have a good day everyone xx
    Count down to retirement 2023
  • Woo, another NSD yesterday, takes me to 3 for the month so far.

    But I'm frustrated as I have some spends coming up which will need to be on seperate days;

    Wednesday - I need milk
    Thursday - I've a hair cut
Friday - I'm going out for dinner

These spends are all budgeted and planned for and they'll be my only spends on those days, seems a shame for them to ruin my NSDs too.
