  • Checking in:
Today was a spend day, I am pretty okay with it. I took my Xbox to be sold, unfortunately I had to pay a £7 bus fair and wait around a few hours for the next bus once I put I traded my Xbox in. I got a subway and also a couple of magazines, then on the way home I went to Aldi bought some casserole mix and also a casserole dish.

Today I am grateful for sunshine, books, and paracetamol.

    Afternoon all,

Late lunch break for me so thought I'd check in. Have finally wracked up a NSD today. I did have a dentist appointment, but as it's a health cost I am claiming that NSD regardless! I can also claim part of the cost back through my health cash plan.

Not much else to report. The only exercise today has been walking from one office to another (15 minutes each way), but then today was always scheduled to be a rest day so that's fine. Back at the gym tomorrow.

Lunch today was leftover veggie chilli I made the other day, tasted even nicer after a couple of days in the fridge! I've also discovered a yummy breakfast, weetabix with chocolate soya milk (high in protein and low in sugar!).

    Today I am grateful for:
    Tasty chilli
A busy day at work (I'm weird and like being busy)
A good appointment with a client earlier

NSD No 4. I should say that this is because I haven't ventured outside the door so no temptation to spend.

I am still sticking to having breakfast and I've disposed of a few tiny things today including another shoe cleaning kit (I don't know where he found them all).

Other than that I've been extremely lazy. Must do better tomorrow.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.

Made another £3ish OP to my snowball debt

Take your lunch to work every single working day
    Brought soup and bread (again)

Come on here every day and post three things you are grateful for
A good time swimming with OH's kids yesterday, good weather walking to the train station, and a strong heater at work.

Reach out to help other people
Messaged my older sister who I really do not see enough and seems down in the dumps on FB - need to continue this conversation

Start 1 or 2 new habits this month
One of these is making protein smoothies full of fruit and spinach for breakfast rather than junk food breakfasts (still going strong with this)

My windscreen never got repaired at the weekend due to the rain - forecast rain all day and send a van without a canopy  then told me they don't work Sundays and are not taking any more bookings until Wednesday. However, a different man rang me today to book in for tonight, and no rain is forecast :T:T

Hair appt tomorrow (budgeted for) then I should be racking up my NSD's xx

What did you think of it Borollan?

Budgets: I gave myself £40 to buy accessories to go with outfits I already have, for Xmas and New Years parties/ events. I’ve spent £22.50 of it today. It’s gone to a local artist who makes amazing jewellery so whilst it’s taken a chunk out of my budget, I’m helping an independent business woman so it makes me feel less guilty!

Make do, mend, or do without: Borrowed some ceramic glue from a friend, so will fix a japanese bowl that’s been waiting to be fixed later this evening whilst I watch some telly.

achieve at least 15 NSD: 2/15 so far.

Coffee: Had a cup of tea in the staff cafe today. It was 46p so I’ll forgive myself for that.

2 Outings: One yesterday but was free. I have another free outing tomorrow - it’s a friends birthday and they’re having a bonfire and fireworks display at their house

Fresh air: Walked to and from work today, 5 miles walked in total.

Three things I’m grateful for: that I enjoy my job; that I live in a nice, leafy area by the park; that feeling when you take your make up off when you get home

Reach out: Contacted a friend I hadn’t seen in a month, we are going to catch up at the birthday bonfire tomorrow as we’ll both be attending.

habits: still no fizzy drinks! wahoo 4/30

Today I am grateful for dh taking dd to the walk-in clinic (turned out she has an ear infections, so needed antibiotics), for a mild day, for plenty of water to drink.

    Good evening!!!

Sorry I have been M.I.A - impromptu few days away, but back in sunny Manchester now and raring to go... I've caught up on everyone's posts and have reviewed November's challenges, so here goes..

Budget: I started doing budgets back when I joined MSE, then when I moved into my apartment, it went to the wall slightly as I was guess-timating running costs. I'm back on it now as have had a few months here now.

Debts: These always get paid first (all 0% interest), and I squirrel away money for my Emergency Fund, and a few other pots ;)

NSDs: Aiming for 15 - currently at 01/15

Coffee Shops: This is a tricky one as I take the elderly folks out every week and they love a coffee out in S*bury coffee shop. It's much cheaper and better value, and I don't want to cut this out for them. It comes out of my spends/food budget though.

Lunches: Always take food in, and meal prep ahead of time. usually have some tins of soup in for emergencies.

Clutter clearance: 60 items!! EEEP! I did have a clear out before I moved in but I am sure there will be stuff that got shoved in a drawer. I'll do my best. I'm off this week so will have a good rummage!!! Currently 0/60 haha!

Use up toiletries: Ooopsie! I just bought some new bits today to try, but as of this moment I will use up the odds and ends first. Honest guv! <slaps on new moisturiser!>

2 outings: I tend to just go out with folks 1/week but they buy lunch so it's a cheap date! I won't count them. I do have a meal later this week, and I'll allow myself 1 other.

Fresh air: I have taken to going out for walks most days!

£5 donation: I will look to setting up a direct debit or food bank donation again.

Gratitude: I will make a conscious effort to do this. I have a diary but it's sporadic.

Love people: I am going to do my best to support folk, and not get dragged into petty stuff at work.

New habits: 1) Walk daily (do 5000 steps to start/day), and 2) Mindfulness for 10 minutes minimum per day. I am going to add a few others...(I shamelessly stole these from XSpender! Thanks!!!) 3) Drink 2 glasses (to begin with) of water per day, and 4) Eat at least 3 portions of fruit and/or veg per day. I'll ramp these up over the next few months...

That lot will keep me out of mischief!!! ;)
