Where have all the likes/thanks gone?
0 -
If you go to the top of this page, there's a button labelled 'unbookmark' on the left hand side - if you've not already bookmarked it this button will be 'bookmark'. Not seen anything to do it automatically, but hadn't really looked as that wasn't something I used.
Went to check it out on a thread I've not bookmarked - and it took me several minutes to get anything new. I'm really NOT finding this forum intuitive to use

I haven't found this, it seems to be all or nothing.fifeken said:
Although there was a setting to get a notification email every time a thread was updated, with the old forum I had it set to get one email when a thread was added to and no more until I logged on again. Have you noticed a setting like this?At least I got into preferences & notifications and managed to turn OFF getting an email for EVERY post that anyone makes to any thread that I have ever posted on
There was also a setting on the old forum where you could have rather than individual notification emails, you could have a digest of activity from your subscribed thread each day via email. Very handy where if you did not want to have your inbox filled with individual post notifications but wanted to keep an eye on a thread and then jump into the discussion.

From the old forum? Pretty certain I read that they couldn't/wouldn't be carried over.

You can see the "old" count in your profile, but it was stated before the change that they wouldn't/couldn't be added to the new site.Deleted_User said:Where have all the likes/thanks gone?

Just have to remember to use it now.cw18 said:If you go to the top of this page, there's a button labelled 'unbookmark' on the left hand side - if you've not already bookmarked it this button will be 'bookmark'. WHERE'S THE TUTORIAL ??????
Just letting people know that BOOKMARKS is the "same" as "Thread subscription"
Private Messaging - Top Right Corner - Click on INBOX
Looks like 5 members is MAXIMUM you can PM at a time ...
BUT , you can now have a CONVERSATION with members and ADD (an unlimited? number of) them - whatever/however that works.? (Followed by  EMOJI - if I could post it)
when a forum needs a tutorial thats when you know its a bad forum.

i dont think they mean that. i think they mean where the hell is the function in this one. i have noticed in some threads you can thank a post and in others you cant. i have just logged in though so thats based on yesterday, they may have fixed that now as i notice its available in this thread. there is also no longer info under your name next to your post telling you about thanks you get. i guess that is only available if you go to the profile page.

I haven't found it that difficult - I've certainly seen worse. If you came to it as a new user, the chances are you wouldn't find it anymore confusing than any other new forum. The issue is that we're all used to it working in a certain way, so a tutorial/idiot's guide to things that work differently would be helpful.donnajunkie said:quoia said:On a general comment ...WHERE'S THE TUTORIAL ??????

I've been away, and when I got home managed to log on (changing my password) find my subscribed threads and realise that once I'd looked at them once they went to the latest post - it's just the new forum doesn't know where I got up to on the old forum which is fair enough. While some things may not be what we're used to, I haven't come across anything particularly disastrous.
Just remember, change is good for you - by the end of the weekend we'll probably all have given our brains a lot more exercise than they normally get hanging out here
