That sounds like a very successful trip, Molly41, how great to get some Christmas gifts sorted already. :xmassmile

I can imagine it would be quite tiring maneuvering a scooter in the crowds, so no wonder you are tired now. :)

Thank you all for the well wishes for dh, his blood pressure is still high but a lot lower than last week, we are so relieved, they have continued with the tablets and taken some blood for a few more test, but overall so much better xx

It's so lovely to read all the Halloween stories, I lived in America for awhile as a child so have always celebrated Halloween ( I also celebrate with a smaller version of thanksgiving) I think I like celebrating most things in general!
I have to say that carving a turnip sounds hard work though, honeywitch homemade gingerbeer sounds delicious.

Izadora glad all limbs are still attached, and I'm sure that pesky 1lb will drop off next week.
Oh my Brambling lemon and coconut bake well sounds heavenly :A

Today was a very boring work day, we had enough staff, but not many customers so the time really dragged, food for today
    B porridge, fruit
L lo chicken and pumpkin curry
D fajitas, with pasta and salad (and sadly and large handful of tortilla chips)

    Oh and welcome Wishus xx

    Good evening, everyone :)

Just popping in for a very quick post as local fireworks have started and Junior Doggy is having a shout (Senior Doggy is deaf, and so shall I be shortly between the war zone outside and the bark-fest indoors :rotfl:).

Congratulations to all who have succeeded in their endeavours, and hugs to those who haven’t.

    Today’s menu:
    B: bacon & eggs
L: jacket potato with lo baked beans, cinnamon yogurt, apple
D: veg soup, chicken livers with ham, cauliflower, lo spiced green beans and tomato, yogurt with ginger syrup :o (carb was calling to carb, my bad).
S: cherry tomatoes, every time I passed their bowl.

    Come-uppance day tomorrow .

Good morning! Hope you all have an enjoyable Sunday whatever you have planned.

I'm pleased to report a 1lb loss this week. Food post will have to be later - I'll have to negotiate who is eating which leftovers first!!

Edit: today I've weakened at lunchtime and had a slice of tiger bread and butter, orange and apple. Teatime was the last of thai green curry and rice with the last of yesterday's chicken and a few cherry tomatoes. Last of the stewed plums, with the last of the jelly!!
Tomorrow I'll see the last of my son til the Christmas break, and if it's fine we are going to chop the last of the perennials back and fill the brown bin for its last collection. :)
A bit of grin and bear it, a bit of come and share it
You're welcome we can spare it, yellow socks

That is good news, Sirens, that your DH's BP is going down, you are on the right track by the looks of it. :T

BlueDoggy, I hope junior doggy recovered from the horrible noise of fireworks, I really wish they didn't seem to go on for several weeks before and several weeks after.

Honeythewitch, I am glad today is better! :j

Well done tighteningthebelt, you are doing brilliantly. :j

Last night I was on my own, no meals out, no socialising, so I planned quite a feast for myself - I had a three course meal: pumpkin and sweetcorn soup, followed by green tomato curry with cauliflower/brown rice mix (ratio of 2:1), followed by stewed plums with Alpro custard, I was stuffed and it only came to around 650 calories!

Cauliflower rice is new to me, I have never tried it before and mixing it with actual brown rice was perfect. I will do that again.

I tried again to make some popcorn, this time in the microwave, but hardly any of the kernels popped, and those that did, were soft and not crunchy. I am beginning to give up with this popcorn!

So I was forced to snack on crispbreads and a lovely salted caramel Nakd bar.

The weather is much improved today, so I have been out on my bike and fed my son's cat this morning and I will walk round this evening to see him again.

Have a great Sunday, everyone!

Well done on the loss Tighteningthebelt .
FrugalLina sounds like a delicious meal, I have never tried cauliflower rice either, might have to give it a try.

Today we had a roast dinner, Sunday is the only day I don't worry so much about careful eating, it is also the only day we have a proper pudding. Today I have baked apples cooking in the oven, they smell delicious all cinnamony! So we will have that with some vanilla ice cream, then tomorrow back to normal.

Well done Tighteningthebelt :T:T lovely to see all your smiles on the chart :)

Sirens I'm glad the tablets seem to be working for your DH I'm assuming you're also keeping his diet in check

Im not sure about cauliflower rice on its own, must try it mixed with brown rice

I'm back on my own which maybe just as well as she is a bad influence  as much as I love my sister I'm glad to have my house back :) and as the cat is a timid wee beastie with people he's happy as well, luckily he's good with fireworks and barely twitched an ear when they started again just now at least the big displays have now finished as two are very close to us.

I've done very little today after my BIL collected my sis, (I did send him back with the chocolate biscuits :) ) after doing the washing I may have had a unexpected nap after lunch :o which is unusual for me and unfortunately meant I didn't get around to soup making for lunches so the freezer will be raided next week as I'm out most evenings so can't catch up

Food today has involved way too much toast which I may regret later  but at least the bread is now gone

    B -
    L - sardines on toast
D - cheesy beans on toast, cooked apple and blackberries (I avoided making a crumble :A)
    S - chocolate :(

It's my other sister's birthday tomorrow so pizza e*press for dinner, any tips for a lighter option?

    Good evening, people! :)

SIRENS Mmmmmm! Baked apples... yum!!! Very good news about your dh’s blood pressure improvement.

tighteningthebelt congratulations! Well done on another loss :j. I hope you had a good day for your garden tidying.

FrugalLina thank you, Junior Doggy is not afraid of fireworks but likes to protest at things out of the ordinary. I hope Sainsbury’s not selling fireworks this year will be the start of it calming down. Well done on your bike ride, and on the cauliflower rice. I have taken to replacing pasta with chopped cauliflower, and it works well, but I don’t make ‘proper’ cauliflower rice.

Brambling it’s lovely when friends or family visit, but equally lovely when they go. A happy cat is a glorious thing. Regretfully no pizza tips, but hope you have a lovely time.

All quiet in Doggyland this evening, just a few distant bangs :).

I’m very happy to report a loss of 1 lb despite the ginger syrup.

    Food today was:
B: plain porridge and an apple
D: tomato salad, grilled steak with leek, carrot and broccoli, yogurt with cherries (which were lurking in the back of the freezer).
    T: ham salad, cinnamon yogurt.
