Hi all:j
Managed to clock up another NSD today so 12/15. May get another one tomorrow but then DH birthday so won't make the full 15. However, pleased with the total so far.
Bit meh today as DH took me to task re the clutter, despite me spending a lot of time clearing in the bedroom - he hadn't even noticed. Just went on about how I had said we would clear the sunroom (haven't finished it, stopped in favour of the bedroom which I thought he's appreciate more) - and about all my craft supplies in the main living room. Then got angry when I mentioned the books that arrive almost daily that he orders...To be fair he apologised later on. Thank goodness the package containing wool didn't arrive today (!)
Did much more sorting in the bedroom - it is a huge room with fitted wardrobes on one long wall - with cupboards above. Whilst I was away for 3 weeks DH bought lots of plastic containers (the loves of his life) & collected everything up & boxed them in these containers. However, now I have no idea where anything is, and he stacked them up in front of the fitted wardrobes, so I can't get them open to put anything away....doh! So have to sort every box & eventually will get to the wardrobes in order to put things away...it will happen, hopefully in my lifetime.
All food was from stores & nearly all YS too. Have plan for tomorrows food & not sure re Sunday as birthday boy will need to choose, although off to Yarndale ( purchases may be involved here although I offered not to go). I know we are eating out on Tuesday birthday meal.
Heard from relatives re festive do, they can make the date which suits me, which is great. Just need to ask friends now if its OK for them..

Isn't it funny we have a lot of the same problems? It is birthday season in our house too - 3 of them in 3 weeks, starting yesterday - anyone would think it was 9 months since the Christmas holidays:rotfl:.
DH is a crafty /arty type / costume maker in his out of work hours, and I have boxed up all his 'tat'* too, Sashanut, but I did make sure all the linocutting/embroidery thread/ dressmaking/ model paints/ watercolours etc were put in the same box separately rather than just dumping the whole lot in together, and they are now stored on a big old Kallax unit. He is still sulking. The idea (my idea)was he will use up what he has first, now he can see what he has (if he bothers to look rather than just use his 'Rainforest' habit). I am sure there is a 'use up what I have first' crafter thread on here somewhere - they post up photos of what they have finished without buying more stuff. But that was a long time ago, mind you, it seems to be a perpetual problem:rotfl: and I suppose it keeps him off street corners..
Yesterday was indeed NSD17, I even found birthday candles in the pantry (ys). I now have no cocoa though.
Today I will allow myself to spend money.
* tat is a technical term used by non-crafters to describe all the tiny things their crafter-lover leaves on every single coffee table and flat surface on 'their side' of the places they sit / relax / work. It is the main cause of the proliferation of the structure called the 'shed' or 'garden office'.
And how many pairs of scissors do you crafter types need???????? I found 11 of varying sizes not counting pinking shears, but dh cannot ever find a pair. I think he may be scissor blind.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Today I am grateful for finding a parking space in the car mayhem that was liddle, for a quick and easy shop, for the 5 hours I had to be at work being enjoyable ones, for rugby and athletics to watch once I was home, for dd getting some hwk done, for a mild and dry day, for headspace, for yummy hm fish and chips, for dh's joy at going through a tech brochure to search for extension leads with lots of sockets - he kept citing the qualities of the ones he liked!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

Yesterday I went on a hunt for a number 1 candle (for a first birthday cake). That will teach me to phone mum and ask if she needs milk or anything. It wasn't terribly difficult to find (2nd shop I tried as the pound emporium only had 18, 21 and 30) but dodging the heavier rain meant it took me nearly an hour to get across town and back.
Decide it wasn't worth going back home so went in the library to wait for mum (film club day). Sat in one of the window seats on the side her taxi usually arrives and then went outside (just under the door canopy).
Film was okay (I'm not enamoured by musical theatre) but there were a couple of really dire routines. Someone (Granada?) filmed us 'wtching' the film before it started as the Film Club has once again won film club of the Year. Walked across to the taxi office with mum so that she would be dry whilst waiting. We avoided the piles of wet leaves to avoid falling.
Took me a while to get started today (been creaky for a few days) but have spent some time outside cutting back greenery. Found the missing secateurs - remembered i had brought the tree saw back in to put it away safely and thought i might have brought the secateurs in and put them down near where the saw lives.
Nearly filled the green bin and also binned several other categories into appropriate recycling bins. Emptied and refilled the dishwasher, emptied and part filled the washer. made a meal from sausages, chunky coleslaw mix and frozen mash.
Came back upstairs as I was aching. I have been down to make another meal but it was difficult so won't be spending today. Checked the charity bin at the library yesterday and it's half full so filling it is one of my targets for the week.
Have done another chunk of the large embroidery project and will work out which lavender bags I can finish this week.
Today I am grateful for not being out in the rain. I am muddy (trainers and old jogging pants) from venturing to the computer repair shop to find they are shut until 15th October. Grateful for making meals from stores and getting quite a lot done, even if it isn't bery visible. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
Hi all:j
amazingly have another NSD to add to my total so now: 13/15 NSDs
Won't be one tomorrow as we are off out..
Seem to have been cooking/and or washing dishes the entire day, but all meals from stores & YS, cake made & sent in with DD to work. Preserves made again, just a few more to go. Haven't made a cake for DH or wrapped any gifts (bday tomorrow). May have to get up early & do some as off out.
DH has requested an easy meal, so that's OK & won't take too long after we get back.
No progress on clearing today (by me) but DH has been busy in living room & has cleared some of the sideboard for 'your wool'. Ahem..

Hello
I'm doubtful of getting another nsd before the end of the month but tomorrow may surprise me. Spendy weekend as I'm another one in the September birthday season. I've had both kids birthdays over the past 10 days, and we're off out for lunch today. September is almost as spendy as December for me.
Busy weekend with hairdressers appointments, lunches out, tutoring and schoolwork I need to catch up on. Plus I need to catch up with crochet related stuff or Christmas is going to be very sparse with gifts this year. I am a hoarder of wool and crafts stuff, and I had 8 pairs of scissors at last count f0xh0les. Strangely enough I am still always on the look out for more wool, or stuff for crafting. I need to use up what I have :rotfl:Not giving up

Well the wheels fell off yesterday, it went nowhere, so NSD 18 happened unexpectedly, then at 5pm I suddenly went furniture-moving-mad, rearranged DS1 and DS4s bedrooms, photographed all the stuff for gifting on local 'take it away!' site, and I have 6 things leaving the house before lunchtime today, if they turn up. I have been out and raided someone's front garden for floorboards to fix my bay window floor from some idiot's bodge job in the 1980s (according to the newspaper under the underlay). Was back before 8am. Sneaking around the neighbourhood - I did have permission though. I have found a charity bag and am going to stuff all the clothes into it and be damned.
Just sent DH and 3&4 off to parkrun in the rain.
I wonder what went wrong yesterday that I managed nothing until 3pm? I suppose we all have to hide in our shells at somepoint. Maybe that was just my time.

I spent some money on skincare for myself and DD yesterday, buying natural, vegan and plastic free products is expensive so I hope we like it. Also spent in Greggs for DS after he had his eyes tested, spent in the charity shops, think that was it.
Raining all day here according to the weather so we may do some indoor jobs.
f0xh0les - DH isn't a crafter type but he is a DIY'er and he leaves stuff everywhere, it amazes me that he doesn't take notice of what he has put down then pick it back up.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

I have the opposite problem. I have lots of scissors, combs and screwdrivers. People 'borrow' them and don't bring them back, just put them down wherever they happen to be once they have used them. In the past I have refused to buy more simply because I know they are somewhere in the house.
When the boys were younger I did buy them each a pair of colour coded scissors but they still used mine. However one of my proudest moments was many years ago (I seem to develop a name for always having things that are needed). It was at a festival for local organisations (mostly organised by me) and one stall holder asked another if they had scissors. They sent them to me as 'mothernerd usually has that sort of thing' - I carries it around in one of those tool caddies. They came and asked if I had scissors and I asked "Right handed ot Left handed". My ex was left handed and I found a website which sold common household items which are usually designed for the right handed.
Weather isn't encouraging me to do much (and creaky knees - think I'd propbably be okay if I could get down the stairs easily).
I am grateful for 'having a plan', getting something done, even if I can't do it all and eating well from odds and ends in the fridge and freezer. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
Today I am grateful for being able to stay in and not get all soggified, for dd having a good day, for companionable needlefelting, for a good book, for having plenty.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0
