If the fruit and veg is so bad that you have to keep returning it why are you still shopping there? A cynical person might think it's a scam to get free food.
Of course it’s a scam. Shopping daily, yet unhappy they can no longer just call up for a refund? Surely you’d be happy to take the item back to get a replacement so you know, you could actually eat it...
Can’t return what you’ve already scoffed0 -
Fred doesn't seem to understand why we're not agreeing with him (or her) I've just been to Aldi, done my weekly shop, bought lots of fruit and veg, we eat very healthily ! Will it all be fantastic ? Who knows, did it get bashed when I was putting it in my car, did it get bashed when I was taking it out of my car ? Will the potatoes all be perfect, no black spots inside when I peel them ? Will the strawberries stay fur free for a week ? Will the bananas be nice and firm until I want to eat them ? How long will the cheese stay penicillin free once it's opened ?
If I had a crystal ball i'd be able to tell you, but as I don't, I take things as they come, it's life. One thing I do know is that if I end up with spotty, furry, soft food, as long as it's not the next day, I will not be taking anything back. Once the food has left the store, t's my responsibility to look after it .Had a beautiful melon last week that took 2 weeks to ripen, it was well worth the wait
I suggest Fred shops online with Harrods.0 -

Thats the way I look at this. I am not fussy I just expect the same high quality every time not just occasionally. If I buy it 100 times and its bad 100 times and it can be proven, then i am entitled to 100 refunds no matter how suspicious it is.
Two things about the comment in bold.
1/ If you want "high quality" then expect to pay higher prices than a mass market, high turnover outlet such as a supermarket and
2/ "high quality" is subjective and what one person considers to be of a quality that is expected for the price paid doesn't mean that everyone will have the same opinion.
However, just because one person out of many doesn't like the quality / Freshness, ripeness etc of some items doesn't mean that the quality is poor, it simply means that one person expects Rolls Royce quality for Skoda money.
As clearly shown in the Consumer rights act, the price paid can be a determining factor when considering if something is of a satisfactory quality.0 -

Not true i'm afraid. They couldn't legally ban me because of my race, sexuality, age etc. They could however ban me if they thought I was a PITA and absuing store policies.
you wouldnt know if it was because of your race or religion they could just not tell you.0 -
Its not so bad. Its excellent some of the time, acceptable most of the time and completely bad the rest of the time. Theres no free food I'm getting out of it so you're wrong about that.
There most certainly is free food.Melons for example are a risky item. You never know what the quality is like until you cut it and taste it. It could be overripe, underripe, unfit for consumption or just lacking flavor.
Now I used to ring up this supermarket everytime i bought an item i was dissatisfied with.
By your own admission you are eating some of the melon. You also ring for a refund as opposed to taking the goods back. You appear to be keeping them and then ringing for a refund.
How is the shop (or indeed any of us reading this) to know if you've consumed it or binned it? It reads like you are scamming them for free food.0 -
I bet your fun at parties Fred.0
